That was a big deal bringing out the OG Pepa from Queens for me because Salt N Pepa was the real blue print. They’re the ones who really originated the hyper fem female rapper (and Kim knows that, that’s why she had them in one of her first videos). I also love the fact that she brought out Brooklyn girls Cyndi Lauper and Yung MA 💖. Lyrically, and I’m talking Rap history here, the women who definitely belong on the Mt Rushmore are: MC Lyte, Lauryn Hill, whose lyricism has absolutely no bounds -she was/is an amazing lyricist - she is the female Nas, no doubt about it; Nicki Minaj, Roxanne Shante(out of respect) and I could put Latifah on there too. I’m not sure abt Foxxy, cause a couple of years ago DJ Envy(who toured w her for years) said ppl was writing her rhymes and she never debunked it soo idk. Mt Rushmore of female rap for image and style: Salt N Pepa, Kim, Foxxy, Eve, Nicki. All these girls had ppl dressing n acting like them at one point.
