My mom died when she gave birth to me. My dad took loving care of me, he's still very protective with me. My mom went up, to Heaven, in return, God filled my life with lots of wonderful people who love me: my grandparents, including my step grandparents, and my step mom (my dad remarried 2 years later) and my sister, also my aunts, who are like mothers to me as well. I had a wonderful childhood. But yea... This video gets me... Somehow it has a strong message: just stop, stop everything what you're doing, take a moment and listen, listen to God, listen to your heart, calm down...

Camelia Radu your mom is probably smiling down from the heavens and looking at her baby girl and thinking what a beautiful person you have become and how much she wanted to experience every single moment with you and maybe she is thinking omg you look so much like me but your personality is exactly like your dads. She knows it’s not going to be easy and feels sorry for not being there but she will always be there when you need her. She loves you. I’m a mom of two and I would feel the same way if you were mine. at least 10 years ago, this song saved my life, among a few others.. and I still always find myself coming back, no matter how many times people may laugh at me for liking NB, or how much of a meme they are.. they are truly an amazing thing for me, and I'm thankful for the songs they make and the ability to be able to make songs like this that may help someone who is struggling. Mental health care in any means is a joke in america, most of the kids during the time I grew up only had music to help them, it wasn't as big of a thing to talk about the things you may think about or feel. Songs like this will always have a special place in my heart, and is a great example of why i give any artist a chance.. music saves lives more than people may realize, though i feel that most musicans may understand this, which is why a lot of artists are so open about talking about these kind of feelings, even some of the 'hardest' most 'dangerous' musicians have made songs about their moments of weakness. we as humans should reach out to help more, instead of hating on others, and trying to be better than them. no matter the color of the outside, the inside is always the same....

10 years after this song came into my life, I'm finally ready to pass it's torch on to a new meaning. When this song came into my life, I had just started feeling everything. The depression, the fear of being alone, dealing with the fact that my girlfriend was murdered, that my first child was murdered when her mom was killed. I couldn't hear this song for the longest time because it tore me apart. Today? Hearing it for the first time in years, it doesn't remind me of loss. It reminds me of what I've gained. It reminds me to look up, to see my beautiful wife, to see my 4 year old son. I lost everything and was suffering from that 10 years ago. Today? I've gained everything and so much more. Nickelback might be hated by others, but it's always been my favorite band. I knew them before they became famous and they've seen me through dark times. Can't wait to hear what they have to take me through light times too.

I fight every second of everyday. My brother committed suicide 7/2019. Never showed signs of being that gone. Myself I’ve battled bipolar 40 yrs now. Have had my share of suicide attempts. But I didn’t catch what I will be haunted the rest of my days... that as he smiled and said “ see you later” thinking he was going to work like usual I’d never see him again. Now I care for our elderly mother who has stage 4 COPD by myself and that’s my strength now because right now as everyday I’m barely hanging on but I will till she’s gone and after I can’t guarantee. If your reading this and are barely hanging on... your needed and once it’s over it can’t be taken back. So hold on please.. we’ll do it together. Much love!

i feel ya man, had more than my fair share of attempts, and my sister 41 years old hung herself october 2019..

This song came out shortly after my dad passed away, one of the worst times of my life. More than once It helped me through part of that grief. I say part because for me My father is someone I'll grieve the rest of my life. Few souls actually are what they tell people they are, he was, in many ways he saved my life. He adopted me at 8 years old, I weighed 35lbs and CPS told him not to waste his time or money on adopting me I'd be dead in a years time. Here I am turning 44 this month, he never gave up on me, never told me a dream was unreachable, never treated me as anything less than his biological daughter. He gave me a life, a name and a family. I'll always be in debt to him, I'll always see him as my hero... RIP Jeffery W. Nein 8/12/1944 to 6/15/2012

This song is so powerful. Not only because of the meaningful message, but by the way the message is portrayed. The way Chad wrote these lyrics feels like a direct message being sent to an individual meant to reach them before they make a decision they can never take back. Thankfully, I have never experienced suicidal thoughts before but I can imagine how the lyrics of this track could really benefit those who have. Every time I listen to this song, I get goosebumps.. Bravo Nickelback 👏👏

It's amazing how close this video describes how close I was to dying while giving birth to our son. I lost 80% of blood and had to have a blood transfusion. I was so very close to dying that day, but I'm here to live and tell the story. This song makes me cry every single time.

The mean kids are destroying my only true friend who Truly cares I am sick of seeng her being beat up and not able to do anything cause I don't trust the school admin. She's really depressed and I am scared she's gonna take her life and I in result will be devistated. She's gonna switch schools but from what I've read on stories from students things don't get better always. Seeing those I love die inside hurts and when I watched this video I broke of crying screaminv don't hurt yourself to the air. The lyrics to this song are as if the singer is singing about some one who is thinking about committing suicide almost every word seems like something I'd say from me to for. When. Chad Kruger sings the line " Take it Crome someone who's been where you're at " I think about myself and how in the past have been also bullied and in the past I have also been depressed to the point I tried to take my own life because I felt worthles. He sings in the second first to stop thinking about the easy way out and that's just what I want to tell her, to not think about the easy way out ( suicide) in the choirs when he sings " if you can't tell I'm scared as hell cause I can't get you on the telephone" my thoughts turn to what it might be for me calling her and it be answered by somebody else who tells me that she took her life and how heartbroken I'd be.

I just realized that Lullaby is litetally that: a lullaby for the baby. It comes from inside of the father dispite all the horrible pain he's going through. The lullaby for his son becomes the lullaby for him as well. Healing comes from within. Holy shit.

@@BOSTON900RR Mmmh..... If you're familiar with the french word "bœuf" "ø" is just shorter, I guess? I dunno. It's hard to explain in words. But the little joys in life: It's actually funny looking up "bœuf" in google translate and have it read aloud if you translate it to Danish "bøf" - The pronounciation is pretty similar but the Danish "bøf" gives a good indication of what our dear slashed 'o' usually sounds like. 😊 If you just type in "ø" in Google translate at the moment ('Ø' is island in Danish), it sounds like the lady is dying, so I don't currently recommend that as a reference. 🤣

This song has been my salvation. I got the words tattooed on my arm while I was addicted to heroin. Every time I had the feeling that I needed I shot i readed those words. Thank you guys.you saved my life❤️ it’s Been 4 years from the last shot. I’m so happy now❤️

This song helped not commit suicide. I suffer from severe depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, recovering opiate addict and deep infiltrating endometriosis. Music helps so much and I can say it saved my life.

I can relate. I have suicidal thoughts & get depressed, & I have celiac disease, a hernia, mild chronic superficial gastritis, & reflux esophagitis on top of that. I hope the days aren’t hard on you & you live a happy & healthy life with everything you have going on. Negative thoughts and feelings are the worst.

Sometimes it doesn't make sense why we cry. Frozen emotions from trauma hardship or anything else. Idk human brain is complex. May experience mental health symptoms in the morning and be fine the rest of the day.

Are you from the future?

My Mom succumbed to her battle with cancer but a year ago. When I listen to this song now it brings an exceptional significance. I believe, in my heart, that all around me are, undoubtedly, speaking these lyrics, and are telling me to never give up nor give in.

Agreed. Nickelback is a lot better than they get credit for. Their new album has a few far-fetched songs, like "Million Miles an Hour" (because of the weird autotune) and "Get me Up" because of the simple and weird lyrics), but still, the rest of their new album was good. Their best album still to me was Dark Horse. PS- If you didn't know, Nickelback just came out with a new album, it's called "No Fixed Address". It's really good, and a change of pace for Nickelback.

I had heard this song (oddly enough on the radio,for those who don't know it I say oddly enough because the song mentions turning it up on the radio) about 5 years after it came out and it has gotten me through alot of stuff since.

I first heard this song from one of my patients in drug rehab. Very powerful message. Awesome video! I now listen to it multiple times a day and share with others who may be struggling. Great job!

I finally discovered someone showing what every real man wants to do with his child(ren). Love them, teach them, play with them, keep them as safe as possible without keeping them from developing into wonderful fully functioning human beings. It's so disheartening seeing all the hate, disregard, and disparagement of men in the media, particularly the news and shows written around leftist viewpoints. This video is a breath of fresh air.

When my sister, Laura passed away back on April 26, 2013, I was an absolute mess. Thankfully, my best friend Shelby was there for me through the tragedy. This song instantly became a theme song for our friendship. She helped mold me into the stronger person I am seven years later. Love you, Shelby. You're awesome!

@@HerschelHolt That's only a small percentage of people you're talking about there. And so what if they did. Chad and the guys are entitled to speak their mind. After all, other bands have slagged off Nickelback for so long, even before Chad and the guys spoke up negatively towards anyone else. Why should they just sit back all the time and take the crap. But the vast majority dislike Nickelback just because they think it makes them tough and edgy. Little do they realise, that they're not that unique. There are many sad cases just like them, so they're not that special. 🤣

I’ve always found this video to be quite powerful it’s a beautiful song, I think about my little ones being without their mum and I’m thankful they’ve never had to experience that.

If you have got kids you would understand his predicament when you first started out wether you are alone or together it's hard anyway then to discover your loved has died in the process what a fatal blow, what a heart rendering song.

To Kitt Gagon, OMG you just never know do you, My UPMOST respect to you, and through your hardship I'm sure your wife would have been EXTREMELY PROUD OF YOU, you are one in a million to have brought up 3 children and have grand children aswell, and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise, I bet your kids are mighty proud of you, and so they should be, god bless you Kitt even though it may have seemed hard at times you came through, & I bet your wife was with every step of the way

I don't get it. But I do get what it's like to be suicidal or think about giving up with life. That was me last year around this time. This year we had our family over for Thanksgiving and grew quite a lot since that. And I'm proud of the progress (:

when i was at the lowest point of my life back in 2016 and i was at the edge of being suicidal; this song kept me together and bring me back to real life. thank you nickelback.

I'm gen z it's one of the issues we focus on mental health and suicide. Despite our generation being better behaved in many ways it's also the most suicidal depressed generation.

This song always helps me when I'm down. It has literally saved my life. I close my eyes and feel. My higher power, we are not alone. There is still someone out there that still loves you. We are not done yet 😪🎶🎧🎶🎧🦋😇🤗🌹

Could care less if people don't like Nickelback watch me throw it on repeat song amazing video powerful.

Honestly my dads the best. #1. He raised me from the day my mom left him (when I was 2) up to now (I’m now 25). It was a rocky start considering his job as a cop tended to interfere on occasions but he didn’t give up. I did learn one thing from him, no dad is perfect. And that mutual respect requires trust and understanding. Thank you dad for being my everyday hero.

I wish it was something like this, So i could imagine of someones love for me and feel a little bliss....😞

It's actually one positive thing is the realization of what mental health and illness really is. Further reduced stigma. As physcologists and proffesionals are speaking more on TV media about it. Addiction(drugs alchol sometimes cigarettes less common reaction) cause violence not mental health issues. Some people use those too escape those issues. But it has nothing to do with their depression or anxiety disorder etc. My dad finally understands this and he's in his 60's. Most of the rest of us know this already. Substances make people loose self control. People with mental illness are more vulnerable to crime victimization and sometimes being homless or unemployed depending on how high or low functioning the individual is. Those are facts in physcology. So be nice to vulnerable people; like homless or people high functioning with those issues. Depression is leading cause of disability in workplace why stigmatize common issues in society if they save us money and help us improve our health and the health of our communities. Only idiots stigmatize that in the 21st century

These issues are common. I think when you get out of your little bubble and realize the larger world around you you comprehend more and are more empathetic. Idk that is why younger generations today are better and less criminal than old people are. In my neighborhood I prevented much crime. While old people were often the cause.
