And I don't care for Barkley, but it was a bad look that could make us look worse if he succeeds or smart if he fails, there's no guarantee he will prove to be washed with the Eagles, who have played us like fiddles for years now except for that one game last season.

Barkley may not be the most important RB on the Eagles. I wish that the Giants would have traded up into the fourth round to pick RB Will Shipley from Clemson. I'm in SC and watch a lot of Tiger football. Shipley is a great RB. He's a threat out of the backfield too. I have seen him make OBJ type catches. Now if the Eagles split time between him & Barkley they'll have a badass duo. He's way better than anybody that we currently have.

I would argue in addition that Andrew Thomas is our best player. Certainly our most important. Saquon Barkley to my knowledge was never an All Pro; AT already has been, and more to come I'm sure. Yeah he's had injuries issues but so has Saquon

IF Daboll can coach, losing Barkley can be the best thing to happen to the Giants. Reasoning: Ever since we had Barkley the NY Giants combined RB rushing yards has been very near the worst in the league. I'm not counting rushing yards by other positions like WR & QB. Ever since 2012 the Giants rushing yards has been one of the worst in the NFL. With Barkley gone it is said that the Giants will be a more RB by committee. Well, I'll believe it when I see it. When Barkley would get injured Breida would get a few carries , but they just threw the ball more. When they had Barkley they should have been a RB by committee with Barkley getting 50-60% of the carries while the other backs filled in the rest. I must say, I think that the Tracy pick is a confusing one. I think that last he's basically the same as last year RB pick, Eric Gray. The Giants keep drafting RB's but never play them. Sure, Gray missed a few games due to injury but when he was healthy the never used him. In fact they never used Brightwell either. I think Brightwell is very underrated. Gray is a threat out of the backfield and is a decent pass protector. Did I mention that he ran for over 1,300 yards his last season in college? I was hoping for another BIG TE or a OL. Sure we have a lot of TE's, I just see some available that's probably better than what we currently have. You must wonder, how much confidence does the Giants coaching staff have in their RB's because when Barkley did miss time they gave the rock to the veteran Breida instead of seeing what we had. The same thing happened in 2022. Both times Barkley contract was up too. By not playing another back that gave Barkley leverage in signing negotiations.

Often injured, seemingly slow to heal, watch barkley get hurt like week 3 or 4, then Giants fans can go and say see, this is what it feels like having barkley on your team. they offered Saquon multiple deals before negotiating with DJ. Saquon didn't take any of the deals, so they pivot to the next plan with DJ. I can't really fault the Giants' front office on that one

It's amazing that it was only negative two yards on plays because a lot of the time he was hit by defenders, 5 yards into the backfield. Saquon minimizing the negative runs is testament to his talent as a ball carrier.
