I'm a firm believer that's Coach Saban's ultimate goal. Give life lessons to his players and tools they'll carry through their whole life to succeed, be the best they can be. It's like an inherent trait of what he coaches. Anything he says carries over to not only the gridiron but life. Glad you see it too man

Not just the football field like the idiots who can't think past team competition for mere play. But life skills. Saban was talking for life skills toughness. For everyday purpose. What a genius of motivation. Thanks for this. You don't have to be a Bama fan to appreciate great words of wisdom. Reminds me of the great ones of the past. Vince Lombardi. Paul Brown.

When he was recruiting Marcus Spears at LSU, he told him no matter what, make a 40-year decision and not a 4-year decision. I guess you can see that he def chose the 40-year decision. He made sure he got the education and he majored in Communication Studies. The rest is history.

Where are these idiots you speak of? Pretty sure everybody knows he's talking about mental toughness in life because mentally tough equates to being a winner at whatever is in front of you that you need to win.

Mental toughness and physical conditioning go hand in hand. You can't have a high degree of mental toughness if you're not in top physical condition. Facts.

This works for saban cause he lives what he preaches. Every coach says this same of stuff but they are home by 8 pm. Nick is the best coach he can be and players see it every day. You look at a fat out of shape coach preaching fitness and you say in back of your head, yeah he is full of BS. I love riding motorcycles, the guys i take riding advice from are the guys who actually ride and at a high level, they know as they have put in the time and practice and learning to be good. Pick any thing in life the ones who have done it and live it their word are taken to heart.

I will take a 10 and 2 saban team that feels bad over any team happy with anything less than being the best. Yes still a really good team, but unhappy as they ate not the best. Cause unlike most bama strives to be the best, not just good. Good is accepting losing, being best means accepting nothing but being best. That is how saban and bama have stocked cabinet with 6 titles.in last 15 yrs, no other program has been close. 1 is enough for most, 6 is not enough for bama. That is the difference between winners and losers

7 NCs, 6 with caveats, 1 legit, 2015. One example. In 2023, no one, but FSU fans believed that FSU could be a contender in the POs with a 2nd or 3rd string QB. That is, the vast majority thought that was a good decision for college football to bump FSU . 2009. Colt goes down 5 plays in and is replaced with a true freshman. A QB with 2700 yds for the season was replaced by QB with 150 yrds for the season. Gilbert turned it over 3 times, but TX was only trailing by 3 with 3 minutes left. Gilbert then turned it over 2 more times. The TX defense was spent trying to cover for him. 2009 will always be questioned. As it should be.

Nick is RIGHT! Alabama REALLY deserves to get into to a bowl after the year they just had! Like the "Pinstripe Bowl" or the "Duke's Mayo Bowl" ! They "EARNED" their way into one of those "lower tier" bowls- hey it's not what they are used to but, way to go Nick- you convinced me today!

Toughness defined. Signing an 8 yr contract and then bailing after 2 years bec the going got tough. That is Nick Saban. Greatest, Most Overrated Coach in History.
Great video, but the music os AWFUL.
Contradicts himself. Michelangelo was great because he thought outside of the box. To then say that “being great takes what it takes” gives the impression that all you have to do is work hard on the standard things within the system. #cognativedissonance

I'm a Tennessee fan, but I don't think you have any point to your comment here. Saban wants his guys to feel a bit cheated and out to prove something. And here is nothing about bowl selection, it's about the bigger picture. Some people try to tear down winners. Thats life. I think Nick can live with that..;))

Sounds like you need a hug from mommy little boy. Its okay you will never achieve greatness cause you are to focused on others, and not yourself. It will be okay your team will have 100 other teams to cry with as the good teams even in a bad yr are 3 times as good as your teams best yr.
