The ice sticking out of Gelu fits makes it very...elemental

I never read the comics he appeared in (for some reason my LEGO Club magazines stopped coming with them after The Legend Reborn was first teased) so I know pretty much nothing about his character, but have always loved his design and was genuinely bothered by his absence from The Legend Reborn. Though given how that movie butchered Gresh’s personality and barely developed any Glatorians other than Ackar and Kiina maybe that’s a good thing.

Was interesting how Gelu was the only one of the main glatorean sets to not appear in Legend Reborn

I can't wait to see how you spiced up Mata Nui. I never had any of these except for Malum and... whatever the tiny water guy's name was, but I have a crapton of nostalgia for the movie.

Honestly I appreciate the "less is more" approach you've taken with Gelu here. While I can understand the frustration of how he doesn't stand out among the other Glatorian, I think the sort of subdued design elements make sense for Gelu since he's one of the only Glatorian that we know of who retired from the arena to become a caravan guide. The design you've come up with captures that more rugged wanderer vibe, and it makes sense that it's not as flashy as Strakk or Malum because he's not a gladiator anymore, he doesn't need the flash.

"And I briefly holstered his thornax launcher to his hip when not holding it" ...So what you're saying is he has a Big Iron on his hip?

Good to know that even in an apocalyptic setting like Bara Magna there'd still be cat boys

funnily enough i did use these shin armor pieces you scrapped for my take on this Gelu mod and the metrutoran chest plate as back plate, similar to the reasoning with Malum's back armir, to make it look more like back muscles. tho while i like the ski idea of the feet, i felt the pridak feet feel a little impracticle in an arena like Atero arena so i kept his original feet

Do note that Gelus doesn't really fight in the Arena. He works mainly as a caravan guard.

And I had referse of it. Gelu was my last G1 Bionicle set. And to this day, with Inika Matoro, those are my favorites.

With tarix teased at the end it feel like you’ve revamps all the canister 2009 sets except for certain otherworldly pet bug having traveler

I personally think it's Gelu with the "GE" like "Geronimo", since GELU means ice cold in latin and in many latin-derived languages

As moc it self, this looks VERY cool. As for the video, I'm kinda sad that you didn't mention anything about him lore wise But non the less, my favorite BIO figure got an video All about him self. It could been better, but it is still fun.

I really needed this as a palette cleanser after the bad taste in my mouth left by a certain member of the BioTube community yesterday.

Legit really love these videos! I'd love to see if you could give your personal touch to the Toa Phantoka/Mistika cause I've always had a problem with how plain they look, 1 primary colour and silver, the primary colour doesn't even match their original colours except for kopaka and onua (for obvious reasons) and they don't get a proper split with one weapon and one blaster, so they just don't feel very finished, I'd hope your creative skill could give them that

Of course not. They don’t match the shaping of his helmet the way these do, it’d make the design less cohesive.

@@NickonPlanetRipple Oh. Just thought about what you said back in the Ninja LEGO Rewind episode about how the VTOLs on the ShuriCopter would make great parts for an Ice Toa, looked at Gelu, and thought about how he might look with those blades.
