This stuffed takedown is more gsp doing everything sloppy rather than good wrestling by nick, gsp never fought an elite wrestler with a wrestling minded game plan like chimeav or colby, and don't say hendricks or koscheck if watched their fights you know they weren't elite wrestlers in the octagon and didn't have wrestling first game plans most of the time, gsp wrestling very overrated by the feeble minded

I don't think it's that George "can't" stand with Diaz (for reference watch the actual fight instead of this clip which will obviously give a biased conclusion), but simply that it's a better strategy NOT to. AKA, it's not true that Diaz would 100% guarantee win if they stood all fight, what's true is that his chance to win are better in this scenario, so better for George to shift the scenario where his own chance of winning is better.

Personally I think this fight made it prevalent to all fighters that the stand-up stalling rules were flawed to shit and it effects UFC today. But as you see kamaru vs edwards, its a different kind of fighting.

i remember watching this shit live and getting hype as fuck when gsp started to gas and nick started putting hands on him. i legit thought the end was near. credit to gsp, he made it boring by forcing the wrestling, but its a winning strategy. extra credit to gsp for not giving in after he began to gas. most ppl wilt when theyre gassing and shit isnt going as planned. theres like a handful of fighters i can think of that i watched gas the fuck out, but they continued to fight to their best ability. literally proving just how powerful the mind can be.
