tbh i'm rarely impressed by poetry, but this particular poem has been living rent free in my mind for over two years now
"God is great" chances are "God is good" well I wouldn't go that far....What a line
This is some of the best poetry I have ever heard. Nick Cave is a legend.
There's nothing in this world that makes me feel like what Nick Cave content makes me feel like
Mr Cave turns taxis into chariots of fire and house flies into angels … and always a beauty so strong it hurts like hell!
I saw this in the cinema last year. Incredibly powerful. It's stayed with me for months. I can see the windmill near to where Arthur fell from where I live. I always think about Nick and his family when I look at it. Beautiful poetry and music from such tragedy.

Alex Ball Could you tell me where can I see the movie please ? I mean online
The 30 thumbs down don’t know what True poetry really is. ❤️.
Put this in the Louvre
Someone's gotta 🗣️🎶 the ✨, and someone's gotta 🗣️🎶 the 🌧️
Poetry at it’s very best! Makes me think of the sadness...my life. Baby steps. Life is Good. “Thankful”
Make no mistake, this is fuckin incredible!!
This leaves me breatless, speechless and with tears in my eyes. As the movie did. His voice, his thoughts, his art... It touches me deep inside my soul.
Nick Cave GOD
Love this man !!! Thanks for everything Nick Cave !!!
Great to see him happy in light of what he has been through.
Beautiful words, Nick. Beauriful beautiful words.
Raw-Painful-Anger.
This is a cool making of video, but the actual b-side track is one of the most incredible things I’ve heard in a long time 🤯🤟
In many years to come people will be looking back at the work of Nick Cave and talking about his genius. In the ways they talk about Picasso and Da Vinci and Matisse and Van Gogh.. and Yeats and Keats and Blake and Wordsworth and Neruda and Homer and Plath and Morrissey

A clean recording of this track plays before his 'conversations with nick cave' thing, and it's so beautiful it made me cry. Here's hoping it'll be released at some point.

This is so powerful and beautiful and raw. Made me cry. In a good way.
Because someone’s gotta sing the stars And someone’s gotta sing the rain And someone’s gotta sing the blood And someone’s gotta sing the pain .
My favorite moments in this film
What a dark beautiful words. I wonder what Nick Cave do when he writes! I mean he doesn't write stupid shit like musicians of today! Glad to see Nick doing well. PREORDERED One More Time with feeling from Amazon! Can't wait to watch this film.
Love of my life... can"t wait to see him again, the most beautiful soul ever
Damn I love all these lyrical, deeply moving comments, I'm the Susie that moves the furniture.
Thank you Nick. Your music, your art resonates deeply in depths of my soul. The emotional load and truth within is sometimes unbearable yet it feels as without it there would be nothing left... It gives a meaning to the music. It connects the written word with the sense of existence... Or the lack of it. I can sit breathless for hours and watch, listen or read your art... Thank you.
Since the very dark autumn night when I was stumbling towards my home from the cinema, haunted by what I've seen and heard, have I been longing to hear this part again. Now I'm still waiting for the DVD to arrive, so that I can experience it all again, but at least some of my hunger is sated. I'm watching this now, and the words I've heard only once appear from the depths of my memory, because one time was enough for them to be engraved there. Now excuse me while I watch this one more time and then another. And thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

How from something so tragic as the loss of a child, something so deeply profound can be created and subsequently is so beautifully commented by someone like you, remains to me a mystery, but what a beautifully sad mystery it is. Hope you have a good night, sister.

I was so moved by this entire film and album but this poem/spoken word piece was especially powerful in the theatre last September. I've been clinging to the only line I could recall for sure, "bang bang bang/ I'm that kind of guy", until this video was posted. worth the wait ❤

i'm suzy still looking for that house fly still moving furniture. Marc took his last cab ride this year, but i'll keep looking for that fly with the one red eye. I'll lay with him once again, and then forever. This is our song love ya Muddus- you finally found Jedu. Thanks again Nick it truly never fails.
Because someone’s gotta sing the stars, And someone’s gotta sing the rain, And someone’s gotta sing the blood, And someone’s gotta sing the pain.
sing the stars sing the rain, because someone's got to sing them
holy holy holy holy holy
holy shit. this is beautiful.
Stunning...Amazing.. From Nick to Eternity!
I love this so much.
❤bang bang bang I'm that kind of guy ❤
It'd be nice if he did a studio version of this and released it. He recited this before he came out for our Q & A in Boston. It was done with minimal instrumentals and none of the background talking/noise. Just his trembling voice. It was powerful.

YES!!!!!!! YES!!!!! I heard. the same last night in the Brisbane Conversations. The doors opened half and hour before Nick came to the stage. this, instrumental, filled the space for the half hour before it swell, the dialogue came and Mr Cave entered the space. I could easy listen to the whole half hour version.stunning and mournful beauty.

Magnificent
Been waiting for this since seeing it in the movie all those months ago. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I suspect this means this will never become a song. Which is a damn shame, because these are some of astonishing lyrics he’s ever written.

Here I am the Moonlight Man with a six-barrel shooter But I’m not that kinda guy, I have a dream Sometimes I get the elevator to the top of the Burj Al Arab And shoot my guns across Dubai Bang, bang, bang, I’m that kinda guy But mostly I curl up inside my typewriter Curl up inside my typewriter and wish that I could die Your legs are so long they should come with their own elevator Don’t worry darling I’ll be coming around to see you later Because between you and me and my best friend the housefly I’m a Steve McQueen with a big, beautiful dream I am god I am god thinking about god thinking about Steve McQueen It’s for me the sirens and the sylphs do their twilight pining On Saturday night I walk on someone else’s stomach lining Up and down the street, call me a cab, call me a cab No I’m a housefly called God and I don’t give a fuck Here I come up the elevator Sixty floors hoping I don’t get stuck And everyone out here does mean And everyone out here does pain But someone’s gotta sing the stars And someone’s gotta sing the rain I’m the atomizer I’m the vaporizer I turn everything to crud I like it here in your flesh and blood I’m the elevator man don’t you see? You’re a spine lashed, long legged lovely young thing Call me a cab, I’ll drive to the top of the Burj Al Arab and fire my guns across your stomach Because someone’s gotta sing the stars And someone’s gotta sing the rain And someone’s gotta sing the blood And someone’s gotta sing the pain Watch out you fuckers I’ve got my six shooter and my housefly on a lead I’m Burj al-McQueen and I’m coming to make every last one of you bleed God is great, chances are God is good, well I wouldn’t go that far I’m Steve McQueen the atrocity man With my strap-on blood porn dream But mostly I curl up inside my typewriter with my housefly and cry I tell my housefly not to cry My housefly tells me not to die Because someone’s gotta sing the stars And someone’s gotta sing the rain And someone’s gotta sing the blood And someone’s gotta sing the pain
God is great, chances are God is good, well I wouldn’t go that far

John Arundell I've been waiting since 8 Sep. when the film played for the first day. And when they make it till 31 March, was a really pain in the ass to wait. And me too, I never bought a movie this quick, I even forgot about La La Land..

I tried to buy it on March 3rd because I thought it came out then for some reason :/ the wait was interminable .. tried to buy it yesterday as well but they wouldn't let me even though it was sitting in the store out the back. I heard most of the new songs for the first time ever live in Melbourne which was an experience I'll never forget. They played all songs from Skeleton Tree except for Rings Of Saturn. Audience videos from Hobart brilliantly captured the debut performances of Magneto, Girl In Amber, I Need You and Skeleton Tree if you haven't seen them.

John Arundell At least you get a chance to see him in real life, I mean.. I wouldn't die without seeing him in the real life. Nick made my taste in music so different, I don't like shitty songs anymore such as Rap and hip-hop this era. Either now I have to wait like 5 days to get the film to my country from Amazon. But at least it's finally out!
can't wait to see you in Montreal, in May :D I can't believe it's actually happening... mid 1990's i discover Nick Cave and the Red Right hand on the Key to the X Files cd.... 2017 ... i actually see him live :D

I'm crying. Not that it's exceptionally good... but it is honest.
Please, please, make this a song, please! ❤

What about continuity? Fuck continuity
I'd love to see this as its own release without the doco playing in the background.
Fuck, the house fly was my Marc's Lebanese "Jedu", Grandfather. The one with the Red Eye that he talked to.. the one I couldn't kill, the one who told him All those secrets about the hammer in the Garage. Yes the fly that was God. I hope you get this Nick. Tonight you touched a soul, who loved a man who loved a fly with a Red Eye. Who was Jedu, who was loved beyond the Heavens. Marc told me, he told me not to hurt the Fly, the one with the Red Eye. I still love him so now I look for the fly, the one with the Red Eye, I want to hear the secrets about the Hammer, about the house he lived and loved in. The house... The House, where he died. This is a true story of my love Marc, who really did love a Fly the one with the Red Eye. Watch out-
I can help nick . If you want

Time: Not really a great healer. The cliche is true - the first year is literally shocking,==== but the second is harder…….. Grief and loss will never diminish in size, ………... Use the passing of time to shape and enlarge the new world around your grief, so diminishing its dominance.
