Cider in the US is non-alcoholic. Hard Cider has alcohol. So you were safe.

Dari! It’s so amazing to see you visiting the places in NY where I grew up.

In my first trip through the US, on a Greyhound bus from NY to Oregon, after arriving from South Africa, I thought I would see the countryside. Yup. The entire country was covered in snow. Even Oregon. Crater Lake in Oregon is awesome. To travel by train through the country is beyond fantastic, albeit a bit spendy unless one books well in advance. Just not in Winter!

This was another delightful video, Dari! It was nice to see you and your friends discovering America and having a good time. If you ever want to visit a town that is very busy on Sunday, visit Spring Valley New York, which is not that far from NYC. The older part of Spring Valley has a huge Hasidic Jew community, and our Sunday is their Monday. All the stores are open, school buses are running, and people wearing convervative clothing walk up and down the streets. Friendly people! There's a Holocaust Museum there (and Center for Tolerance and Education.) It's normally open Monday through Thursday, but you can visit on Sunday if you make an appointment ahead of time.

I live in Syracuse and my family and I were literally at Niagara Falls on September 30th! It's great that you got to go on Maid of the Mists. Watkins Glen is one of my favorite state parks. New York has many more parks that you should visit. I recommend Letchworth State Park, which is somewhere in between Ithaca and Niagara Falls.

I came here to mention the same thing, Letchworth is worth a trip on its own. Thousand Islands, Lake George and Lake Placid are all great road trips as well.

Wow, Dari! 😀I'm speechless beyond words. My first "foreign" trip ever was a family vacation to Niagara Falls (on the Canadian side) when I was 11 years old. Seeing you there and riding the "Maid of the Mist" brought back so many wonderful memories. I grew up and live in far northern New Jersey near New York State and actually recognized some of the very places and even streets you filmed on your way there. I have been following you since 2022 through your travels to Greece, Spain, Turkey, Dubai, Uzbekistan and more; seeing you now behind the wheel of a car, visiting all these places that are practically in my backyard, feels almost funny like a cartoon and not quite real. :) I first "found" you in early 2022 hoping to find a few Russians like you, Natasha, Slava, and Zack who represented the best side of human nature. I love the fact that you are all friends with each other, and have loved every minute of seeing Slava and now you give your take on the USA and American culture (good and bad). It makes me appreciate the good things we have and also allows me to laugh at some of the things you find unusual, different or just plain weird. 😃Btw, that was a really nice touch showing the Ukrainian flag at Syracuse University. Little things like that tell me where your heart is and that you're a good person.

From the Canadian side its spectacular! The rotating tower in the background of Niagara Falls, Ontario is the Skylon Toser. You get a panoramic 360 view of the city and the falls while you’re eating your dinner! Toronto is 2 hours away on the 427 Queens Highway but its an expensive city so a week’s stay there would cost $700 Canadian. Not worth the money! You’re better of touring it on YT and not have to worry about watching your budget! What a classic road trip. Happy my country is growing on you. Looking forward to your next video. Dari, I'm glad you enjoyed your first road trip in USA and that you did well driving. As for Sundays, it really depends on what city you're in as for how lively it is. Long story short, a lot of the older industrial cities haven't had much going on in their downtowns on the weekends for decades. And a lot of cities have neighborhoods and suburbs away from downtown that are actually the popular places for younger adults to gather to hang out on the weekends and it is busy for brunch, day-drinking, watching American football at bars, farmers markets, etc.

What an amazing road trip. The falls are incredible but the places you went to during the trip are just as interesting. Thank you.

Ithaca is the setting of several films from the 80s. Great choice for breakfast, local cafes like that have some of the best food.

That looks so fun and brings back fun memories of the time I went to Niagara falls a bunch of years ago! P.s. By the way, apple cider in the USA is normally non-alcoholic.

People travel home to see family, with a traditional dinner with turkey. Keep in mind the airports might be packed for the weekend during Thanksgiving. It is the busiest travel time in the USA 🙂

You visited my hometown of Ithaca and Apple Harvest weekend. Two kinds of "cider". Sweet non alcohol and hard cider or with alcohol. There were both there. You must have drove at least 800 miles.

I think it’s safe to say this has been one of your best yet production wise… It’s really nice to see that you’ve found your stride and are living your life to the fullest, and that you’ve found a group of friends who seem to be a good match too! It was nice to see Ithaca again, my short term home time for wonderful years at Cornell. You obviously took the long scenic route (versus flying) as NYC and Niagara Falls are 420 miles and 7 hours apart. Most people don't appreciate "the real New York" which is what we Update natives always term it.

You should go north to New England and see Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine - you can also go along the coast of Rhode Island or Massachusetts or even out to the end of Long Island near you there in NYC - definitely go to Amish country in Lancaster , Pennsylvania

Glad to see you are enjoying your exploration of the USA. Your exploration is just beginning 🙂 but you have visited the town/city where I spent the first half of my childhood: Ithaca, New York. My parents were then at Cornell University's graduate school and did post doctorate research there. I remember as a child picking blueberries on the shores of Lake Cayuga.

The city streets may be empty in Syracuse on a Sunday but not in Boston. And by the way, The Boston public garden in spring when the trees are pink - so gorgeous! And it's a public park so it's free. Also there is a cemetery in Waltham or Newton somewhere between the two cities It's on Walnut Street that's all I remember probably Newton. It's totally gorgeous in the spring the pink trees all of the flowering bushes and two ponds full of ducks and geese with a stone bridge in between. My husband called them in advance to see if We could take our wedding pictures there and they said it was fine as long as we didn't take pictures of the graves. So apparently lots of people do that there, take wedding pictures

I only saw them from the US side as well. I remember thinking "wide but not tall". I guess the impressive part is the beauty and the amount of water itself, -- definitely worth seeing, and I hope you get to Canada in the future!

It's great to see your amazing drone shots again. 😊 Niagara is a great first road trip (it is cooler from the Canadian side), and it looks like you really made the most out of your weekend! I do hope you get the chance to visit all 50 states, as they're all quite unique in their own ways. And I hope you get to see all the national parks too! They are all so different, from Hot Springs, which is inside a small town with a lot of history, to Yellowstone and all of its natural wonders. I grew up near by Syracuse and graduated from SU. I’m sorry the university didn’t have a chance to have u as a student. The city stinks though and has deteriorated as did the economy. It has its places though and Central NY is beautiful.

If you do ever make a road trip across the country to see other big sites like the Grand Canyon, be sure and add to that list the Columbia River Gorge that separates Oregon and Washington, world class wind surfing on the gorge at The Dalles, Oregon.

You remind me of my own daughter, still figuring out life. Your boldness and courage along with your friendly and honest personality are all you need to fine the happiness and peace that are destined for your. I'm curious if your Russian drivers license was okay or whether you had to present a New York drivers license when you rented the car. I'm so glad you were able to get out of the city and check out some suburbs! You'll find for the price of the Rental car, you can actually fly to some other close cities to check them out. Like $99 flights. Also, yes everything is MUCH cheaper once you get out of the Center of Manhattan. New York is super cool, but just so terribly expensive compared to the suburbs. But this is great seeing you visit all these American Places! You're a very good and experienced Tour Guide :) (also, drive up to Vermont & Connecticut to see some fall leaves. OMG. Franconia Notch State Park, you take a ride up the mountain.

So glad to see you discovering NY State is soooo much more than just NYC and the tristate region. Next spring into summer, check out the eastern side of the state. Adirondack Mountains, Saratoga Springs for the races, Lake George, Lake Placid. As well, a short trip from Queens 1 hour north is the Hudson Valley. Easy to do anytime. Tremendous places to explore and enjoy. That Maid of the Mist is absolutely exhilarating.... Great trip and great vid!!

I always love getting to experience the US through your eyes - Thanks for sharing! I know it's a bit (*a lot*) more out of the way but if you ever find yourself in the SouthWest you definitely have to visit the Grand Canyon! It's similar to Niagara in that photos/videos don't come close to what it's like to experience in person. Also at 9:36 - The bigger cities tend to be 2x - 3x the price for things like that 😅Supply & Demand at work lol Anyways thanks for sharing and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your Sunday! 😄

When you start exploring the rest of the USA, be sure to block off a lot of time to explore the South. Each state is different and it is a totally different experience from New York, although the scenery in New York is very similar to my home in the Arkansas Ozark Mountains.

Great weather for the foliage - You made a super video - I am heading to Gettysburg and Harpers Ferry to do some hiking and see some foliage. I can fly from Texas to DC and rent a car (rt flight $250 car rental $150) for 4 days cheaper than your rental from NYC - New York is expensive compared to the most of the country. Keep it up - are you heading south during a winter break ?

Cider has no alcholic content in the US. Hard cider has been fermented and has alcohol. You can drink cider without worrying about driving. It might make your blood sugar high from the high sugar content, but not blood alcohol.

You are near me now. I was going to go to Niagara Falls today, actually, but changed my mind and stayed home at the last minute because of the rain. I guess I should have gone.

Such a pleasant trip, I didn't think I was going to watch it all the way through but I really found you and your friend's reactions to be so charming that before I knew it I had seen it to the end. I know American's are criticized for smiling to much, but from the video, it looks like that's all you gals did!! I'm so happy to see you fulfilling your dreams!!

Niagara Falls is such a magnificent sight. The thunderous roar of the water, the mist that rises up into the air, and the rainbows that dance in the sunlight-it's all truly breathtaking. Niagara Falls is slowly migrating to the great lakes and when it finally arrives the great lakes are over... It's true that Niagara Falls is moving upstream at a rate of about 3 feet per year. This means that it will eventually reach the Great Lakes, but it won't be for millions of years. So, there's no need to worry about the Great Lakes overflowing anytime soon. In the meantime, we can all enjoy the beauty of Niagara Falls and be grateful for this natural wonder. Northern New York used to be full of strange religious groups until about 100 years ago. I enjoyed your video and am glad to see you roaming the Country.

Driving the back roads is the only way to drive, especially to see the fall colors. Perhaps you & your friends could go back to the falls, this time walking under the falls. Actually, it's walking between the cliff and the waterfall. Maybe you have already seen this on youtube. Many christmas movies were made in small towns of western new york. Btw, that area has the best apples anywhere. There's a reason why cider donuts line is so long.

It was these visits which inspired me to begin learning Russian because I intended to return and travel widely in Ukraine, but that was in the days when Ukraine hadn't been turned into an abattoir and it's population so tragically used by the US, NATO, and the EU. I sincerely hope that in the future, before painting your own country in such a negative light with respect to the SMO, you might consider doing a bit of research into the origins of the current conflict in Ukraine. A good place to begin is on May 5th 2014. Please google this article 'Ukrainian rightists burn alive 39 at Odessa union building' The people killed were ethnic Russians and their Ukrainian supporters, men women and children. The demonstration was peaceful until the people were violently attacked by Ukrainian Rightists / Nazis. From 2014 until the beginning of the SMO 14,OOO ethnic Russians were beaten, raped and murdered in the Donbas. I taught English to groups of refugees from that area when I lived in Warsaw, Poland. I also lived in one of those grey blocks of flats, I think the Poles call them Kaminista, in Krakow for three years and to be honest it wasn't so bad, except when I had to go down to the cellar for coal. :( Have neither of you heard of the Minsk Agreement? Are neither of you aware of the fact that in 1991 a promise was made by the US that there would be no expansion of NATO into the former countries of the USSR? There is a record of this in the US government archives. Have you never looked on Odysee, Rumble, Rokfin, or other social media platforms at the videos of young, wounded, Russian soldiers being beaten, tormented and shot in the head by laughing Ukrainian Nazis? I now live permanently in the UK and I can assure you both that most cities, towns, even villages here, are not the fluffy, warm, welcoming places Daria describes them as. I really do wish they were. Instead, they are mostly run-down, dirty, often violent, plagued with drug-dealers and to a large extent populated by people who are grossly-overweight and who survive their gloomy, hopeless lives only with the aid of fast-food, alcohol, and crap, mind-numbing TV programs. For many of these people, physical-exercise consists of going out in a car to buy cigarettes. Yes, of course, I take your point about the densely-packed flats and horrible blocks. It was the same in Poland when I lived there but no government of any political persuasion or nationality can change such a huge issue as national accommodation overnight. I'm pretty sure it will surprise you both to learn that millions of us here in the UK admire Russia for it's traditional family values, patriotism, religion and rich cultural heritage. These are all things that we have had stolen from us by our own treacherous Zionist-owned governments. It really is such a shame to see two intelligent young women with a huge audience of supporters displaying such ignorance while at the same time demeaning their own country with respect to it's fight for existence. Congrats on the first road trip. You look like a natural behind the wheel! I'm glad you enjoyed the falls (When I was there, our family spend all of our time on the Canadian side). Never had a boat ride, but it look enjoyably fun! Scenery in that State Park reminded me of somewhere else I visited that looked very similar, but it escapes my mind. Its so nice to see that everyone in your group is digging the small town America vibe. What a trip your having with your friends, I have never seen so many Russian women smiling! 😂😂. Sunday in America: Back in the day, it was traditional that there's not too much open on Sunday, except for Church, grocery stores, and Gas Stations. It's a day off! It's time to spend it with your family. As the towns turn into cities, you start to see less of those old traditions. With most small towns, your luck to see anything open past 8pm! Yes, once you visited NYC, the huge builds, the vibes kind of make Syracuse quite and boring (And not in the sense that its boring, its just a different vibe--- Maybe it should be Plain and Simple versus crazy-wild)! You've seen the source of the *hydroelectric power* driving the U. S. A. to become *electrified* . Niagara Falls generated the electric power and New York consumed it. The U.S.A. was enamored of electricity, having experienced using it with the telegraph of the American Civil War. "Connect to Moscow" but it stopped far short and ended up with the gigantic icebox, Alaska.

You did parallel parking! That's really hard. I was so bad at it that I didn't do it very often. I was in Pasadena once and I was so excited because they got a Target and it had a parking lot so I would put the car there and then I would just walk through the places that were downtown and I didn't have to parallel park. There isn't any other place to park downtown in Pasadena. Pasadena is a really cool city and I love LA. Los Angeles not Louisiana. :-)

It's fall here in Central Pennsylvania. I live in a rural area south of State College. We have Amish, Mennonite and a mix of European descendants. Also Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year will be here before you know it. These are great holidays if you have many friends and family to share tge holidays with. The week before Thanksgiving I'm going to Chicago,10 hours each way, for a huge indoor show. Your first semester here will be an awsome one for you

It occurs to me to wonder why I've never wanted to go to Niagara falls. Because I love waterfalls. Maybe it's just that it's sort of an old-fashioned place where people went for honeymoon. Of course my honeymoon was practically in Worcester and we went to the Auburn Mall. So obviously it was brief. And then we took another more honeymoon and we went to Montreal. I don't know if you can get a visa for Canada but Montreal was pretty cool even though most of what we saw was in the subway. Because it was February and above ground it was pretty cold. And then on the way home the car died in Vermont. And then we didn't leave from Vermont until like 2:00 in the morning or maybe 4:00 in the morning. And my husband was never happy when the car broke down. And I wasn't driving so he can't stay awake as long as my roommate who can Drive a very long way like 14 hours before he needs to go to sleep. And my husband he was seeing a fork in the road. Not the hypothetical fork. He saw an actual fork. And then he saw a man under a bridge. But there wasn't any man and there wasn't any bridge and there wasn't any fork either. But it was nice to go to Montreal again even if I don't think I ever saw any part of it above ground. Maybe the hotel room :-) If my roommate were here and he had suggestions he would suggest going to the Delaware water Gap and I think that is the place where he went white water rafting with his friends. That's something I wouldn't do. But you would probably like it. And I think that's the place. I'm sure there are other places as well. I've just spent a lot of time in Pennsylvania... And a would always see signs for the Delaware water Gap. Also Amish country is interesting. I have only been to the park in Pennsylvania. Lancaster and around there.

Dari, the Canadian side of Niagara Falls is much nicer than New York side!

So much fun! Cider donuts are usually only available in the Falls and are really really good. I'm addicted it them. Remember too that not all apple cider is alcoholic, most that I see is not and you can drink as much as you want.! Dave

My first time at the falls I went to the Canadian side and had a mountie tell me I was parked in the wrong spot, as advice for next time I come. I was overwhelmed with the hospitality in the border towns as well. I slid off the road in the snow once and a crew of Canadians appeared out of nowhere and pulled my car out of the ditch in seconds then disappeared waving just as quick. Canada is SO CLEAN compared to the US in general. The Great White North is a fun place to visit. Hope you get there soon.

Dari has an international driver licence and if she ever becomes a permanent resident, she can get a driver licence in whatever state she might choose to live.

When you said boat ride let's see how much it costs: I thought hmm let me guess. $28. Wow. I've never been to Niagara falls I've never wanted to go to Niagara falls. I have been to the Grand canyon but the part we stayed at for 2 hours was very gray and the Red rocks were on the other side. We had been up for like 14 hours we got up at 3:00 a.m. It's not that long a trip from where we were in Tucson it's only 8 hours but for some reason it took us 14. And I fell asleep in the car on the way back finally everyone else had already slept on the way up. But along the way to the Grand canyon from Tucson there are red rocks and it is just so gorgeous. And I like road trips anyway. I don't know why I've never wanted to go to the Grand canyon but back in the '60s we took a ferry boat I think it was across Lake Champlain and I discovered that I really like ferries. Also one night we stayed in a log cabin. That was really cool. Most of the time when we went anywhere and we really didn't go places, we went camping and stayed in tents. This may be why I don't remember having vacations as a kid. I hated camping so much. I didn't know it was a vacation. But that log cabin was really cool. I don't think it was very big. Maybe it was just four walls and a couple of beds. But nobody took any pictures. And then we also did the ferry boat and we went to Canada to see expo 67 except for it was 1968. I don't think it was any cheaper. We have a television with a remote control. It's a really really old before televisions had remote controls. But it's from 1956. As it turns out it's a 1955 model. Which makes total sense because it was probably on closeout, on sale because There was going to be a new model. And that is definitely the kind of thing my father would have done. He was very thrifty. When I grew up and I have my own apartment I liked to make sure that the things in my rooms matched. I was picky with the colors and all my plates were the same color and my sheets and I really liked decorating my apartment even if I had to make a duvet cover out of sheets because the quilt comforter bedspread whatever was way too expensive so I made a gigantic pillow case with a sheet of the same fabric and I put it over my quilt. And then I made pillowcases out of parts of the sheets. I should find out that I really can't sew a straight line and also I got a lot of pin scratches in my hands from trying to get it flat but at least when I got through with everything and my husband painted some of the things, our apartment was really pretty and all the colors matched. Because when I was a little kid our living room was brown and green and red and black and pink. And my roommate wants to get a new recliner because the old one is really falling apart and I told him he could but no leather and it had to be blue like the rest of the furniture. Because when my father moved down here, he actually bought a matching set of furniture. And we still have it. Except for that recliner which is breaking. And we still have that also. So mostly in the living room it is blue and white and in the dining room it is blue and peach. Anyway little New England towns or Little New York towns don't really excite me but taking a road trip in the car with friends That sounds like a lot of fun :-) I wonder if you know why it is that Zack the Russian wasn't allowed to get a driver's license for a car until 180 days but you can drive in New York. Maybe it is a state thing. I remember we tried to rent a car when we were wanting to drive across the country but we had to be 25 years old and we weren't that age yet. But that had nothing to do with driver's license or being from another country. And we never did do it. It's something I still would like to do. Especially considering I have seen that the middle of the country is very flat and the roads look pretty empty on the highway and even though I'm not the world's best driver I could still do it. And since then I've actually driven in LA but I wouldn't want to do it these days. After a couple of times doing it and going through downtown on the highway I decided even though it was longer, it was easier for me to take the circular route around the city on the 405 and the 101. That way I didn't keep falling off the highway and having to get back on. Or having to change lanes a whole lot in order to avoid doing that. I did try a little bit of the way between Phoenix and Flagstaff. But when we got near the city we pulled over and I let somebody else drive. That was back in 1984.

500 bucks for the car rental seems like a total ripoff even for New York. It pays to compare not just different companies but even locations as the prices can vary a lot. Glad you enjoyed the road trip, it is my favorite thing to do in the US. I have done more than 100,000 miles in 43 states. Haven't been to more than 10 states in Europe as the prices are insane and nothing interesting for me to see really. Keep up the good work, your happiness makes me happy too!

I assume you would only travel further during summer months, - but my daughter ~a former college ESL teacher~ has a rental: Casa Mirabella Guest House in Wooster Ohio (Central Ohio) .It is flawless and just opened! Six locking bedrooms available ~each with their own bath~ and common areas! English/Spanish, and in a pinch, German speakers.

Niagara is a very expensive attraction, but everyone who visits America goes there.

The National Parks are one of my favorite things about the USA. Mammoth Cave in Kentucky is the coolest one I've been to & they even let us camp inside the cave although I don't think it's allowed anymore.
