NHS Skate Museum Tour

We took a tour of the NHS Skate Museum in Santa Cruz, California and were guided by none other than NHS CEO/President (and former pro skateboarder), Bob Denike. There is so much history and so many artifacts on the walls that even with all the informative captions and old school footage, you're going to want a guide through this place - and Bob is the best!
The NHS Skate Museum captures (beautifully) the history of NHS from it's inception in the early 70's through the ups-and-downs of early skate culture on into the raging late 80's. If you're a skateboarder, this is YOUR history too. It's truly impressive and worth every bit of travel expense to go check it out.
Want to take the tour? YOU CAN!
Tours are given Tuesday through Friday by appointment only. For all appointment inquires please email Crystal Martinez at NHSSkateMuseum@gmail.com. Email at least two (2) weeks prior to the date you are asking to be reserved. Please put the time & date that you would like to reserve in the subject line of your email. I would love to visit the museum and see all Jim's original drawings, what a legendary illustrator!
Great tour video guys. Having skated (badly and painfully) through the eighties this really takes me back. Santa Cruz were definitely my choice graphics back then.

Thanks dude! We're planning on it. Stay tuned!
HUGE fan of Santa Cruz boards here. Being on the east coast and NHS being close we got our share of product here. I was always and still an SC rider and have many vintage gear as well. But my truck choice was always Tracker. Sorry about that guys. But OJ, s and park Rider as well as RR were always great wheels. But when I got my first set of Kryptonics I was hooked on them for life.
Excellent video! And have ordered from skate warehouse a few times now - the best.
Big work men. 💚🤘🛹
This is tight! More people should watch this, keep up the good work
That Street Skate with Rebounds looks a lot like my old one. It had OJ's but I'll be damned if that isn't a dead ringer. And are those NOS RR 4's on the wall? DAMN! Unfortunately for NHS I'm a Tracker guy.
Fascinating. I have always wondered how many boards Rob Roscopp sold back in the day?
thanks for the tour. really great history

So much history there. Thanks for watching!
Salba Bevel was the first board i ever rode that had a really gnarly concave
You could tell Phillips was heavily influenced by Big Daddy Roth (Rat Fink) style of hotrod car chopper motorcycle and early surf culture art.
NHS for life
I would Love to check this out
history speaks!
That stage 1 at 6:02 kinda looks like the Ace trucks that a lot of bowl riders ride today.(much narrower though)

Ace trucks are based off Indy Stage 3's. I've rode a bunch of Ace 44's and one set of 55's. Best trucks out there and they turn and grind better than Indy. They're made in China unfortunately but they seemed to have fixed the bending axle issue with the newer beefed up hangers.
thanks for the tour but why did you blur the video
