    Hey there thanks for the video! I graduated in June2023 and got registered in august. I had to give up on my job offer since I had to give OET in august then had 2 months to give PLAB1 in November. Now I have my plab2 on may 8 and I'm leaving for Uk on march 13. So I had no place for job since my graduation. Do you think this 1 yr gap would affect my job prospects so much

    Hi, since you were preparing for exams, ideally it shouldn’t! But the jobs are getting more competitive now so they prefer hiring people with clinical experience. Still, try to highlight all your other achievements that should help. And you can join a job in your home country after going back while applying for NHS jobs. That would give you clinical experience as well!

    Hi, you can study the common medical / surgical/ orthopaedic emergencies that you’re likely to encounter as a CMO/JR. For a RMO role, you would need to understand administration and the structure of the hospital more than the cases. So it depends on which department and which specific role you’re applying for :)

    Hi tysm for the informative video! I have a question regarding visa, what i heard was you do your plab2 and preferably clinical rotation on short term (6 months) visitor visa, then you start looking for a job and get a certificate of sponsorship, then you have to go back to your home country and get a work visa with your CoS. Is that correct? Like are you there on visitor visa right now sorry the legal visa stuff just stresses me out! I'd really appreciate it if you reply🥲

    Hello, yes you do need to go back home to apply for a work visa. Don't worry too much about it - it's a fairly straightforward process. I'll also make a video about the visa process.

    Hi, you can try to look for opportunities at ICMR since they do regularly advertise for available roles for MBBS pass-outs. You can also get involved in ongoing research projects at the hospital where you work as a medical officer. Or you can start your own project! We have an abundance of interesting cases in India and a case report is the easiest way to start :) I’ll also be putting out a research series soon, so stay tuned for it!

    Hi, you don't need to add all of your previous employments and experiences in the supporting information unless it is relevant to the speciality you are applying for For eg. You can mention having A&E experience if applying for A&E or surgical experience if applying for a surgical job but there is no need to mention all of your clinical experience again in the supporting information

    So you can check the person specifications of the speciality you are interested in an start preparing your portfoilio accordingly. However, 3rd year might be a bit too soon since portfolio requirements change every year. Some general things which would always be helpful is research, audit and teaching experience.

  • @rupsgotnochill

    @rupsgotnochill

    3 ай бұрын

    So a clinical attachment doesn’t guarantee a job. Clinical attachments help you understand the system, make connections with consultants & registrars and provide opportunities for teaching, audits & BLS/ALS which are likely to help you with the job hunt and portfolio even when you apply for training in the future. Some trusts give preference to clinical attachés since they already know the hospital but it doesn’t guarantee a job. Some have to do multiple attachments to get a job. It is only a boost!
