Hi Leigh Mark from down under here. These race reports are awesome. Love the extended highlights and the footage you’re showing. You’re showing everything we want to see with out all the extra crap. Plus the behind the scenes info you have is great too. It’s particularly good for us fans overseas where it’s hard to get really good info and footage of the races in a tight package like you’re doing. Keep it up - it’s great watching. Thanks!

Before you showed the John Force clip you said, "I am going to show it because I know he's O.K." I'm 76 yrs. old. When I was born, my family ran weekly dirt track races in Houston & Oklahoma City. Our family physician in each city was our track doctor. I was born on a rain out. I remember my Dad checking the sports section of all of the local newspapers on Mon. mornings to see who crashed (1950's). I also remember him punching out a photographer for taking a photo of Jerry Hoyt (1955 Indy 500 Pole Winner) after they turned his sprint car onto its wheels after his fatal crash at the Oklahoma Fairgrounds. What I'm getting at is there is a fine line between what should & shouldn't be shown regarding horrendous wrecks. You can protect the driver's privacy while allowing racers to dissect the accident. I believe that several people who have watched John Force's wreck footage are already developing ideas to make funny cars safer. That's how auto racing safety has evolved from pre-WWII to today. I also remember meeting my Dad at his office where he told me about a young funny car driver that he felt would become a winner. My Dad supplied him with all of the Cragar products he needed to qualify for the contingency money awarded by Cragar & John Force didn't let him down. My Dad passed away shortly after his dealing with John & I've been a fan of JFR to this day.

@@leighmillicanhubbard When I was a kid, most racers did all of their own work & fabrication. I remember when the term "shade tree mechanic" was a common description. Some young racer might have the answer that takes racing safety to the next level.

pro stockers have gotten smart by routing the exhaust out the side instead of underneath the vehicle. with the exhaust underneath, the thunderous sound of the engine was making enough sound waves to cause tire shake. i was the one who figured that out when i saw a slo mo underneath video of grumpy jenkins car when it tire shook off the start. if grumpy knew this, think he might change his exhaust? absolutely. he did after i discovered it.

At 5:41 look at how the wall tapers inward and how hitting it a little earlier could have been much worse. If walls are to taper at all, it should be outward. How much would safer barriers cost seeing that it's only a quarter mile? Losing John would be akin to losing Dale, a real legend and standard bearer of the sport. I hope is injuries are minor.

Hate to a crash like John had that could have been a lot worse. Maybe NHRA should look at safer barriers like Nascar that concrete doesn't give much. Hate to see Clay go out out to a mechanical issues but i they will be back.

I think you should do a vote on what treatment should be given to the motorcycle boy that was rude & mean to his wife or any others. #1 - to say on air , I'm sorry to her, & change his ways. #2 - bared from track forever. #3- Every female goes to his pit to discuss it. Moments before, he's called to race. #4 - ????

This is it for John. He's done. Not sure if he's going to try and get healthy fast and go to Ohio or Seattle, but this is his last season. Already announced Height is getting the car keys to replace him. But really curious if Force is that stubborn to try and race in Ohio, or wait till Seattle in July. Probably really sore and on edge after Sunday. Sitting in a hospital bed gives you lots of time to think. Not sure of what injuries he may have suffered, but you can bet that this may be the last time John Force gets behind the wheel of a Nitro car. At his age, he's already seen it all and lived to talk about it.
