Skinner just went through a stretch where he had 14 out of 20 games with 2 goals or less....He is only in his second year full year as a regular NHL goalie...Skinner is way ahead of schedule in terms of development. Ideally this is where a $5 Miilion a year veteran is supposed to step in......That is why they signed Jack Campbell.... But alas, he is in Bakersfield......It ls kind of hard to put all the blame on Skinner or Pickard when COMBINED they make less than Campbell.........who remains in the AHL.

Skinner, is losing net confidence quickly after that win streak broke. That’s 2 games now he just can’t track the puck well or comes out too far to challenge leaving the entire backside of his body open for a backdoor play.

Losses come and go. Now's the time practically to prove strengths in specific areas of player-types due to the upcoming Trade Deadline and a fast approach in the direction of the playoffs. Practically if one thinks about it, All players on All teams, are going up against their positions. So proving intensity mental, role-playing consistencies, communicative chemistry, mental & physical fatigue (ie: Health due to illness b/c of unstable body heat deficiences b/c of external temps resulting in a common cold, etc.), will be ongoing as the anticipation levels of playoff-style hockey, intensifies. The Wild's prep was probably fierce considering an 8-game winning streak for the oncoming opposition...the Oil. The prev. game vs. Boston, was a hard-fought game for both teams and exertion of expelled energy, mental fatigue (defensive strategies, offensive output, etc.) was clearly shown. It's ok tho as mental rest will recharge the 'crest.' Thursday's temp was 5 C during the day, while Friday's daily temp reached 13 C until the celestial star as we know it, the Sun, dropped and outside temps drastically & rapidly changed to approx. 5 C again (strange weather but expected due to 'cyclonic' changes no hUman can stop). Regardless, as mentioned, the 'rest' will take care ot itself (pun intended). :D
