It was a BS call. Nylander was cross checked into the goalie from the defenceman trying to avoid the goalie.

Big win for the boys in Blue! Sammy played well, Matthews got his 40th. Reavo was impressive with a goal, and elevated his game enough tonight, to be in the lineup next game after the All-Star break. JT scored his first goal in 11 games and first point in 10 games! Benoit scored his 1st goal as a Leaf. A great game all around and very entertaining. GO LEAFS GO!!!!

Refs screwed the Leafs for a majority of the game but the team responded really well! First goal on Sammy was ugly but after that he went back to shutting the door, so it's good to see him not breaking down. Matthews with 40, although he was the king of turnovers this game. Overall, the team played really well defensively, not allowing too many big chances for the Jets. Ggs Jets fans!

It's not wrong. Otherwise every forward would purposely let dmen push them onto the goalie. Nylander made 0 effort to avoid it. He let himself get pushed

They robbed Bertuzzi of a goal, that was a bogus call if I’ve ever seen one 😒 the Jets didn’t even try to argue Goaltender interference because they knew there wasn’t any

Really bad call on the Leafs' called back second goal. That was REALLY lame! Glad to see Sammy pull it together. Good game.

It's absolutely disgusting how many Leafs fans were at the game. I grew up just when the Jets left Winnipeg in '96 so I became a Leafs fan then. But as soon as they returned it was Jets 1st and Leafs 2nd. It's scary to see so many dress up for the Leafs in Winnipg. If I didn't love the Jets so much and want them to stay forever I'd say my fellow Winnipeggers don't deserve a team.

Aren't a lot of those Leafs fans Torontonians who flew in for the game? I've been a Jets fan since the original '72 WHA team got it's start. I've been to hundreds of home games over the decades and have had occasion to talk with several visiting team fans. They were almost always from out of town. Of course, then there are former Torontonians who moved here, for work or whatever, who remain Leafs fans. Nothing wrong with that. Winnipeg is, however, one of the oldest hockey markets in Canada (google "Winnipeg Victorias", for eg.), we have an incredible fan base. Let's ease up on the "don't deserve a team" talk.

We do have a great history! But sorry to say 80% of those Leafs fans are from Winnipeg. Maybe some from Dryden and Kenora Ontario but in my experience that part of Ontario actually has a large Jets fan base. The fans "Leaf's" I sat beside at the game didn't know much about hockey. lol @@Arasteele

Like you said, most are likely from N Ont. I have a ton of relatives from out that way who have made the trip in many times over the years. Most of them are/were Leafs fans, but most also liked our team. Just like Most here in Manitoba are Jets fans but some like the Leafs. Of course we welcome our Jets fans from Sask, of which there are many. Go Jets.

@@PageMarker1 So what your actually saying is you like the Leafs just because of Austin Matthews( because he is American) He is a great goal scorer I will give him that, defensively he is not so good, very rarely you will see him throw body checks or fight if he has to.I like him alot he is great to have him on the Leafs but I have seen alot of great players in my time.I wish he was more like a Scott Stevens, Eric Lindros type of player who were all around players who could check, defend, score, and had grit and wouldn't think twice about dropping the gloves when needed.

@@Rob-oy2hr I didn't know he was American, to be honest. The reference to 'great in the regular season' means he hasn't been as pivotal in the playoffs. I too have seen many great players, Bobby Hull, Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr and let's not forget the Mahovlich brothers while we're at it. Don't care much for fighting, but it is part of the side show, but what really bothers me is the intent to injure that goes on out there. Marian Hossa seems to fit the bill for the type of player that can do it all, glad we had him here bringing the Cup here to Chicago.

How to explain Sammy.? Back against the wall? Works sometimes. 44’s give away from a weak forecheck for their first goal sums up the defence. The hard part is he even looked surprised when he lost the puck! And the team generally. They actually showed some grit after a dazed start. Startling. Really.

Nylander has been playing pretty well recently. 4 points in his last 9 games.

The LEafs will have an interesting goalie decision when Woll comes back .Its unlikely Smasonov or Woll will re clear waivers in order to be send down to Marlies so the Leafs will have to use a roster spot on the 23 man roster limit to carry 3 goalies .I guess they have no choice .Of course ,after the trade deadline the roster max expands to 25 I believe so after trade deadline it will not be an issue

That was a bad call against Bertuzzi's goal. Nylander did you reasonable efforts to avoid the contact as he stepped back after the initial contact. Guess this will be a rule where there will never be consistency.
