As much as there is to say about this game (good and bad), the one thing most of us can now agree on is Woll is the starting goaltender for the Leafs (not 1a or 1b). Hoping Samsonov can find his play soon, because if he doesn't we will be seeing Martin Jones as Woll's backup before the end of 2023.

i knew knies was a superstar. i was calling to pull sammy after the 1st goal. but that whole sequence where knies battles for the puck, comes out with it (like always), dishes to marner who feeds knies and he spin back passes to matthews for the goal was absolutely FILTHY. unbelieveable.

Samsonov is a great goalie but right now he needs to get his confidence back again. Woll has to be our rock.

I could watch these two teams battle all year long. I wish they played eachother 10 times during the regular season. Up, down, all around. Back and forth hockey. It's entertaining

Not really. The game just proves the Leafs just aren't good enough to win games consistently by more than 1 goal without going to overtime or a shootout or having to try to win by overcoming a multiple goal deficit.

It's just mind boggling how bad Keefe has navigated his goalies. He should be using the hot goalie until they tire. Woll was on a roll, put in Sammy, Woll got cold, and Sammy started to recover. Then Sammy comes back playing well, and he puts Woll who was semi-cold. Someone has to tell him Vasilevsky played 62 games last year. He can allow hot goalies to play a couple games in a row.

at least they got some depth scoring from Jarnkrok tonight. he seemed like he was trying too hard on the Matthews line. put him down to 3rd line tonight and he scores 2 when he doesnt have the pressure on him.

Love the work ethic of Nick Robertson.

Leafs can definitely score goals. And the core 4 are playing great. But this team is very leaky on the goal prevention side. They desperately need to shore up things on the blueline. As good as Klingberg has been on the PP, he's not the defenseman this team needed.

WHAT IS THIS GAME!!. GG Bolts. Poor Sammy, just not himself. Bring out the Wooly Mammoth!!.

I was just trying to explain that the Leafs bounced back after being down, finding ways to win no matter the pressure! So no, with last night's meeting against Tampa, it's not acceptable to be down by 3 goals after one period. I'm sure Sheldon Keefe, the couch gave his players a much needed talk in the dressing room after the 1st period. However mistakes happen & Samsonov was definitely off his game. Joseph Woll sharper in net! & Woll played terrific in last years playoffs getting his team to overtime in game 5 against Florida!!

That was a fun game to watch, Maybe the best I've seen this year.
