prostreet is cute if yours has HEN or is able to P2P you can probably get the PKGs for the DLC cars (you only get the Roadrunner and the SEAT if you install all updates but don't own the dlcs) if it's emulator even easier

Please play the PS2-version of Undercover. It is actually a "different" game: It is made by a different developer called "Exient Entertainment" Overall it is a remix of Most Wanted 2005, Carbon and Undercover. 1. The map is a remix of the Most Wanted 2005 map with changes and additions. 2. Car tuning is based on Carbon 3. Story and textures based on Undercover Yeah it is a compromise of all those three games and shorter, but it plays like Most Wanted and has better sound mixing than the PS3 & PC version. Having played it only a few years ago it was like finally getting a sequel to Most Wanted 2005 I always wanted. _______________________ Hot Pursuit 2 is quite different on PC and PS2 as well. PS2 version has more content, more polish, more variety, higher texture resolution and completely different driving physics than the PC version. Both those games need a shout out, especially Undercover PS2, a forgotten messy little gem. It is quite interesting how many different games EA released under the same name. High Stakes was a different game on PC and PS1 as well Porsche even more so, 100% different ( PC: EA Canada, PS1: Eden Games ( V-Rally, Test Unlimited 1+2 ) Porsche is 100% different.

Undercover had so much potential if they had more time to work on it it probably would’ve been awesome shame they were pushing developers so hard back then making them release a game once a year

I agree. I think Undercover could have been fantastic game with a potentially interesting story. Problem is rushing it combined with some poor writing lead to this.

Dude Xbox literally had weird hd dvd and the ps3 had blu rays for everything

it really is a miracle that this game even starts on the ps3 considering how little time they had to make the game and how hard it is to get a game to work on a ps3

It's my childhood game and it's okay to me. I still play it from time to time and I wouldn't say it was THAT bad.

Funny enough, I prefer Undercover over MW2005 just very slightly. I played over 70+ hours on the PC version since 2014 and liked it even though it's a totally glitchy ass mess of a game. And it make me fell in love with the JDM cars like the 240SX you get from the game and Underworld in the menus. Rest of the game is "Oh..."

@@burnnet2107 Hehe! I would love to have a decently condition 240sx that isn't modded to unrecognizable but sadly seeing one for a reasonable price is almost non-existent in these year. I got my eyes settle for more desirable options like a 1996 - 2002 Trans Am V6, BMW Z3 or a GT86/BRZ that I want IRL and hopefully I can get one sooner or later on in these rough times.

@@haaxxx9 I am playing once again right now as to relive some type of nostalgia and I don’t remember it being such a performance issue. It’s like I can only get 20-30 minutes of ingame before it freezes or the Ps3 self restarts. What I enjoy most is the police scanner. It’s very random and I still haven’t heard all the cues outside of a chase. I liked how they converse about your driving style and damage of car. It seems like Day 1 cops were harder than now.

It's one of those Need For Speed games where I feel a lot of people who say they hate it probably don't believe what they're saying, or haven't played it themselves. It's a perfectly adequate game.

This was my first racing game, I actually loved it. Weird thing is I never had any performance issues. Out of my whole playthrough the game crashed once

Remember that this thing was gonna be called TerrorFive and was gonna have a totally different approach. Which still makes me mad to this day, it had such great potential

All the blurry on this game made it unplayable at one point, but i don't know why this game was still part of my childhood and i really had fun with it

I remember when I was age 8-11 when I had my friends round, we'd take turns to get into police chases and compete to who had the sickest chase lol. This game was never that bad in my opinion.

Man, BlackBox rushed this video as well. No matter what I do, it always freezes at 1:49 for some reason. 👀

I played Undercover on ps2 and ps3. I liked the game on ps2 much more, because most of the problems weren't as present as in the ps3 version.

This game was my first NFS game using my Xbox 360.

I give this game credit for introducing me to Hybrid, Mindless Self Indulgence, and Underworld. Almost all the NFS games I've played have introduced me to great bands or artists, even a shitty one like Undercover! Also, I'll be damned if Maggie Q didn't look great in the various black dresses they had her in!

I saw another comment that said they don't remember experiencing this on the Xbox and I would personally agree. I had no idea this game had this many game breaking issues on PS3 at the time. That's pretty wild considering it's a NFS game on a modern console.

Undercover PS3 is one of my childhood games that I never stopped playing, now I happily play it again on PC and it's the happiest days of my life.

Back in 2010 I fixed my friends PS3 hard drive (it was that weird trick you had to do where you rip the hard drive out when it's restoring it) and the game I used to test it was this. I genuinely thought the PS3 still had issues because of how poorly this game ran, I didn't have Wi-Fi (I stole my neighbors WiFi for mine but this was the other side of the house) so NFS was running 1.00 with no patches, the highway would fail to load in and the game would freeze. I gave it back to him with the warning "it freezes in games still" but he never had another issue with it. so thanks Need for Speed, for making me think the PS3 was semi-borked 😆 I suppose that's on me too for not testing other games with it.

"this one weird trick" clickbait from 10 years ago vibes 😆 but this was indeed a weird, and frankly dangerous trick that saved a lot of PS3s back in the day. The chances of it permanently bricking the hard drive were definitely not zero.

Having only played the PS2 version way back, I never really saw how awful it was, sure it wasn't top tier NFS, but it was okay Feel like the other ports/versions got shafted though..

background music has me thinking my cat is meowing every 4 seconds good video though! :)

As someone who has dominated everything in ps3 version I can say it's impossible to beat the highway battle with the yellow car unless he crashes no matter what car you use

One of the best things (if not, the only best thing) is this game's soundtrack. Especially the garage music.

I had also a few occasions where the game got stuck on the landing screen, but aside that game did not crash at all

I was playing MCLA on my PS3 when the power went out once That PS3 to this day will not play a single copy of MCLA, it refuses to register it

The Steam version actually doesn't have the Challenge Series update (but the Origin one does). Honestly that's good, the Steam version is more stable because of it.

I didn't have problems with it when I had it for PS3. I found a copy of it and need for speed most wanted : the 2012 version and going to pick them up today. We'll see how they turn out ❤️❤️. Been over 10years since I've played both of them

I kinda like the blur because it makes it feel like you are driving faster but they used it too much.

1:50 I definitely can't play it on our main TV. Bruh this shit looks like Street Racing Syndicate Reborn.

The freezing looks like a fault of the specific disc rather than the game itself. My ps2 copy of burnout 3 did similar and my ps3 copy of gtaiv does the exact same thing as well

Nah it's due to poor optimization I had it digitally on Xbox 360 and it had the same freezing/stuttering issues

i tried finding the download to the challenge series on the PS3 and it wasn't even on the PSN Store how wonderful

I don't know, i've played it on ps3 for years and had the map not loading issue like one time and like a couple of chrashes. Overhall, still a lot more stable than most wanted 2015.

NFS The Run of Wii is the 3DS port.

I don't even know how you got it to even work on yours. I have 2 PS3s: a non-backwards compatible fat, and a slim. Every time I try to even start the game, when it starts loading, it just freezes, and eventually the PS3 just beeps 3 times and restarts. Then when it actually DOES work, the sounds are broken/static, and it'll freeze and you'll drive into nothing and it'll sit like this for a minute before letting you drive into the rest of the race. I just gave up on this version and got the PS2 version. It's way better, and actually operates.

Yeah the AI rubber bands when you're around/in front of it, but if you make a mistake and they get ahead once you're back up to pace to try and catch up, they do not slow down for you really, they will take long routes instead of shortcuts though. Seemingly every race I do they're always all going for shortcuts. I'll be 30+ seconds ahead of domination times and they're right on my ass making me need to not make any mistakes. And how many times I've been screwed by traffic turning into me or just being over a hill or something is crazy. I did slog through all the challenger series races, and yeah some of those your car isn't even close, one with an R34 vs those same types of cars that TT was against. Some of em are really just hoping to get lucky, which is just annoying. I'd rather the rubber banding have a hard limit, their pace should never be going beyond the domination time, by much at least and using the Veyron against some lower level cars, while they still couldn't come close to keeping up with me, I had some races where they were a minute faster than the time to dominate the race, crazy.

I have to say that AI rubberbanding sometimes gets out of hand on Xbox 360. I completed this game like 3 times on 360 so I know what I'm saying.

I really enjoyed it but it was so laggy and glitchy. The car list, customization, cop chases, soundtrack and events were great.

I dominated all the Challenge Series events on the PC. Frigging dedication, but it was all worth it. Wow, the PS3 version is even worse! I never had most of those issues on the PC.

I imagined how doom 3 bfg edition on ps3 had extreme lag in many areas of the game such as the cyberdemon final boss and it's way much more worse extremely than nfs undercover on ps3

I loved it, I didn’t realize so many people hated it till I started looking for old clips of it. Do people genuinely dislike it or is it…😂 right I’ve just seen where it freezes that brought back memories yeah that happened loads to me. I mostly played online think it was cops and robbers which I was usually on. I think at one point I was ranked something like 360 odd in the world on the ea leaderboards when I logged on my account during an I.t lesson at school, I played it every day for hours, it was one of my favorite games for the ps3. I’m lucky if I can get more than a few hours on in a week now.

What I disliked was just mainly the amount of times my PS3 died while playing this lol

I ended up selling my PS3 copy, the AI is unbearably hard, squeezing out a win was nigh impossible, one mistake and they would fly ahead. Fun-fact; deleting the update file before starting the game will make the AI much more easier. Too easy, at that... Like, beating the game becomes very effortless since the AI will be super slow, as well as the game being more buggy. If you have a save from Update 1.02 and delete the update, you will be put back at the start of the game, but you will keep your cars, which is good. :D Final verdict: Just play the damn PS2/Wii version, while a lot of the assets are copy paste from Most Wanted/Carbon, it actually has a difficulty select, jukebox and much more engaging gameplay.

Didn't know you can delete the update , like when I booted it up it just instantly started updating to that version, also do plan on trying out the PS2/Wii Version of this game cause I heard a lot of interesting opinions on that one

You can, go to Game Data Utility and delete the update file, then cancel/go back when it asks to update upon booting up the game. Also, you should! Imo, Exient's version is clearly the more superior Undercover. Copy paste assets aside, Exient wasn't funded much for squeezing out this other version of the game (classic EA, they just grabbed Most Wanted's map and retextured it, Game Over screen is straight from Carbon at that).

Undercover basically when Most Wanted, Carbon, and Prostreet having orgy. but since it's unwanted child, Undercover has the worst graphic of all Black Box ever created

I tried to finish it on PS3 and I failed. I didn't know that PS3 version is even worse than PC. Physics was bad, AI was bad and too unfair and optimization and stability was bad. I plan to play it on PC with reformed mod because I'm curious how it will improve gameplay for that game and I would like to finish last NFS from BlackBox.

I bought this on X Box 360 not too long ago… and it was HORRIBLE. No free roam music, AI is broken.. and piss yellow filter. I played on PS2 and it was amazing I loved that game to bits

My first exposure to Undercover was the PSP port. It was worse than the Mainline and Exient versiona combined.

I'll admit, the only good thing coming from this series.... 9000 miles - Pendulum

man, on the ps3 version (the pc version in slight ways too) the rubberband is the worst, and i mean the "worst" in the whole history of the need for speed francise. Underground 1s Matt is baby poop against this AI (so extreme, that i quit it and didn't touched it since then).

Im playing it rn and I have a lot of fun I think the Story is great and a bit Bad graphics is a price im Willing to pay for Such a good game

At least Undercover's mere existence can count as them positive things about it tho, unlike whatever tf is this "The Day Before" game and TDU Solar Crown

I don’t think it’s as bad as people make it out. I think people give it a harder time because of Carbon and Most Wanted.

I just beat and uninstalled this game. Bought the disc version of the PC release with SecuROM tamper (which I have to use a noCD patch *if you catch me drift*). So yes, the game is a broken bloody mess, but I have good memories on it back when I played it on the Xbox 360 (still owned the game on disc) and I wonder with these two platform, What went wrong? Is it because (like this vid mention) a rushed release gap between ProStreets, or Skate? Because Black Box developed Skate as well.

we had Undercover, and i dont remember JACK SHIT about it... but The Run was an interesting concept, and with the cloths the character are the same as MW's character, or atleast his jacket, which makes me think its the same character, same hair style, (maybe) same jacket, IDK but ts pretty convincing to me :) 3:47 you havnt lived untill you experience the game not keeping up with your speed, PS2 classic features right here :)
