NEW FORGOTTEN GAME VIDEO: kzread.info/dash/bejne/p6B9r5dvibzfZcY.html Thanks to the 50k people that tuned into my passion project! New similar stuff coming soon, though perhaps not on a full franchise. And for my 500 subs, stay tuned! If RPCS3 ever gets multiplayer working, I'll make a video and we can organise a full lobby. Around 9:14 I mention Apocalypse was revealed at E3 2005. This is wrong, it was 2009. Yes, I am a fool. UPDATE: Pacific Rift Multiplayer is being worked on! See www.reddit.com/r/motorstorm/comments/wem026/pacific_rift_servers_important_notice/ for more info! Edit: Asking me to cover Motorstorm RC is like asking me to review Angry Birds Star Wars in a review of the Star Wars movies. Its not bad, but it's Motorstorm in name only.

I don’t care what anyone says, Sony will never be the same without Evolution Studios, not only did I play the hell out of every single motorstorm games as a kid (even the boring RC spinoff) but I also got introduced into sim racing by their last and criminally underrated title DriveClub. It’s too unfortunate the studio doesn’t exist anymore so any future releases of either MS or DC would be very unlikely to happen, I can still say however that I’m very glad to have had these games in my childhood and that I still own a PS3 to be able to play them all again one day when I want to take a nostalgic trip, it’s a shame that some of the unlockables require online play though… either way this series will always be remembered as the best imo despite shifting my interest into more realistic sim racing.

They got bought by CM who kept them as their own separate team in the same studio, gave them some amount of free rein and they made Onrush which nobody bought. Then I think they made Dirt 5, which was also a disappointment. But then CM got bought out by EA and since then they've done EA WRC and maybe an F1 game. Doubt EA will let them do anything else.

Ah, this was a wonderfully fun series. When I got a PS3, for three years the only games I had were Pacific Rift and the first two Resistance games. I played the everloving hell out of all three, but PR was the one on which I wasted a majority of my youth. It really shaped what I considered to be a good racing game; I find things like Forza incredibly dull by comparison. It was always skin-of-your-teeth, adapt-on-the-fly, adrenaline-inducing madness and I loved every second of it. The variety of tracks, sheer colour and effusive energy ensured I was playing it right up until my PS3 eventually got the yellow light of death. I did also have Apocalypse, but I picked it up pretty late; 'twas already dead by that time. Still great fun though. A criminally underserved and forgotten series. Side note: The same is true of Resistance, another franchise left buried in the ashes of the empire it once held. Fall of Man might as well be my favourite console shooter ever made. And local split-screen! Christ, do you remember when games had that? Those were good times... If you were to make a similar video on Resistance, I for one would appreciate it. I caught a glimpse of it there in your emulator list, and I long for the old days. The game box still gathers dust on my shelf, and it makes me sad.

Awesome video. I will always remember being blown away by the first one when my roommate got a launch PS3. He was going to put it in our living room and said I could play it. As I have always been a huge fan of arcade racing, I knew about Motorstorm as soon as it was publicized. We had bought three games for the PS3 the first few months and they were all legendary in our eyes: Uncharted, Assassins Creed, and Motorstorm. I loved how we could pick the route (kind of) in Motorstorm. Since I loved the first one, I obviously loved Pacific Rift even more. It helped that we had a top of the line TV.

It was the combination of the over-the-top environments, the varied but well-balanced set of vehicles to choose from and the incredibly strong soundtrack. Also there's something about the presentation of the menu's that made you feel like you were "there" at a huge scale illegal racing festival.

Great video! I've always known Motorstorm games, but never got to try them, except for that one RC game on the Playstation Store. Also, nice Ace Combat mention in the end, you better make that video soon now that the next game in the series is confirmed to be in development! ;)

Nice video! For the future I'd suggest focusing more on sound, as game sound is sometimes much, much louder than your voice. Such as in the intro, or at 11:30 where you start by saying something and then very loud music starts blasting. Normalizing the audio in your videos would do a lot good.

I remember going to a friends house back when i still only had a ps2 And this dude boots up pacific rift. And then he says “check this out” and he starts playing music he loaded onto his ps3 during the game. My mind was blown, something i always wanted was now available. With my ps2, if you wanted your own music in a game, you had to unplug either the white or red audio wire, and go plug in a dvd player than could play CDs. And in order for it work work decently, you had to go into the options and turn up the in game sound effects and turn off the in game music. It was ghetto, but it worked. Made tony hawk even more playable.

Motorstorm Apocalypse was such a standout for me and my little brother. We loved the car customization and the pure mayhem. Pacific Rift had the best splitscreen experience for us and we loved the monster trucks. The first game was just absolutely gritty and the atmosphere in that one is hard to beat.

One of my fondest memories is playing the motorstorm 1 demo at Best Buy when the PS3 was barely out and stupid expensive. I was with a friend and we were literally crying of laughter from the ragdoll physics with the bikers/ATV drivers. I started playing Pacific Rift for the first time a few days ago and its awesome. About to order Apocalypse looks good too

I will always compare this series to the rock band Queens of the Stone Age and their discography. I'd even say it's fitting, since Medication, Sick Sick Sick and Go With the Flow have been featured in Motorstorm's soundtracks in the past. Monument Valley? Compare it to either the self-titled debut album or Rated R. Full of experimentation, full of unique sounds that keep you going and a great way to know what this is supposed to be and who it's made for. Pacific Rift? That's definitely Songs for the Deaf. It's the sequel album that expands on the first two albums, has learned its lessons fully, and is about to go places in a hurry. And to many, it's the best of the bunch. Arctic Edge? That one's Lullabies to Paralyze. A nice reset button and an excellent return into the unknowns of experimentation. Apocalypse? I consider it to be ...Like Clockwork. Something that's sinister and dreary at first glance, yet the beauty of it all is just under the surface. Not that that's a bad thing, it works really well in this game. And finally, RC is the black sheep. It's Era Vulgaris. The weakest of the series, yet it's far from a bad game. It's still got plenty of surprises.

I’ve heard of this game but never knew what it was until watching this. Looks great and if y’all like this u will prolly love Fuel too. I think Fuel is better than Motorstorm from what I see and it’s open world. It’s a massive map and apparently one of the biggest in all of gaming. Takes 2.5 hours to get from one corner of the map to the other. The exploration is amazing and the gameplay is better. Also it’s incredibly challenging. Nobody knows what this game is and that sucks. Everyone should experience the masterpiece that is Fuel. Also the game is like $4 on Evay

Remember spending so much time practicing and getting better in that game so I could have a chance of beating the group leader. Felt so good to finally do it. Dont think Ill ever find another racing game like that again, and its a pity.

They really should make a new one. If they want to save money, maybe make it a collection with some courses from all the previous games to save them designing all new levels. I would buy that in a heartbeat, I really miss Motorstorm, it was so unique and really scratched a itch no other game series can do.

A year ago or so i got my old ps3 out of the closet and replayed Motorstorm and Motorstorm Pacific Rift. They're fun games for some time but both feature the same very bad grievance of rubber band enemies. I'm kinda astonished it wasn't in the video at all, because that's the biggest factor to why the games became unfun after a while (because rubber band became stronger the further you got into the game). It's simply unfun to go around a tight corner on a motorcycle, boosting away only to be crushed by a truck, which should be literally impossible after the vehicle classes specs. But it does happen because of rubber band KI.
