@@AncientGameplays Well, NFS 2015 kinda looked like more to NFS Carbon to me because of these supercars and cops while in NFS Underground 1-2 it didn't feature any of these supercars a cops (because of Acura/Honda back then). No neons, no Nissan 350Z... The only cars from NFS Underground 1/2 and Underground Rivals that are still there but maybe some of them are bit different are - Acura RSX, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Ford Focus RS, Ford Mustang Boss 302, Ford Mustang GT etc...Yeah, there was the Eddie's Skyline and Melissa from NFS Underground 1 part of the story. However the Eddie's Skyline in NFS Heat is the closest to the NFS Underground 1 version. And even though NFS 2015 looks the best but graphics are nothing compared to the gameplay (also, there are people who mod the graphics of these old games) but I prefer gameplay over graphics. And you forgot that NFS 2015 had sountrack from the 90s NFS (mainly from Rom Di Prisco) - these NFS before NFS Underground that no one is talking about them because most of the NFS fans started from NFS Underground. I would say in some aspects NFS 2015 might be closer to NFS Underground but in mostly NFS Heat (despite it is mixed of many NFS games). As you said NFS 2015 is too dark and I agree and if you look closely into the sky in NFS Underground 1 the sky in NFS Heat looks similar to the NFS Underground 1 while in NFS 2015 the sky looks like more to NFS Underground Rivals (in some maps) and NFS Carbon (in some areas you can see still the clouds that are kinda like NFS Underground 1/2 too). Also, the cities in NFS Underground 1/2 were more colorful than NFS Carbon. Despite Ghost and EA tried to make NFS between NFS Underground and Carbon, they didn't even tried to update it like adding 350Z and neons... And instead they left the game just like NFS Heat for the next NFS Payback (that NFS shouldn't exist). Funny though how NFS 2015 was the most updated NFS from Ghost while NFS Heat didn't have that many updates. And as you said NFS 2015 is made specially for night time only if you use cinematic tools in some areas it looks great but in some areas like the dock area or the mountain area look really bad with bad shadows and low detailed resolution. Overall this game was made for night time only. And for the handling I would like to add that NFS 2015 might had the worst handling from all 3 NFS at least compared to NFS Payback it had counteersteer unlike in NFS Payback the drifting looked like more "powersliding" and at least in NFS Heat the counteersteer was brought back (even do you don't initiate it manually like in NFS 2015 or any NFS with brake to drift style). And for the drifting in NFS Heat from all 3 is the worst - so slow that from the beginning many people didn't know how to drift properly and NFS Payback had the best "drifting" even though it looks unrealistic compared to NFS 2015 and NFS Heat. For the sound I would say NFS Heat has slightly better sounds than NFS 2015. The Acura RSX sounds closer to the NFS Underground 2 version and it is sounds more like VTEC than NFS 2015 version. Overall I didn't really like NFS 2015 but at least there is not pay to win game like NFS Payback and from all 3 games I would say NFS Heat is the best one despite it is kinda boring that there is no speedlists and no updates. And so far the NFS series are still struggling since 2008.

I remember seeing gameplay of NFS 2015 back then and being blown away at how nice it looked. Heat seems like it has more technically advanced graphics, but NFS 2015 has the more artistically good graphics.

Me too. I enjoy building the cars more than the gameplay, which says something.

NFS 2015 somehow feels different. It was really big when it came out and the hype before that was through the roof. It was like a game made for car guys. Like you had your favourite tuner cars (instead of only high end supercars like in other NFS games of that time), crazy body kits engine mods and the visual customization was something from another planet. The game sort of revolved around car culture, the atmosphere was great IMO. It was really kind of the UG3 that everybody wanted.

Payback is the best of the compared games in pretty much every way, the only issue is the slot machine upgrade system.

Payback is probably the best but heat has to take the cake for the engine sounds (if you dont agree than listen to that mustang foxbody . woowee) and need for speed 2015 gets a medal for its cut scene graphics (its like they were recorded with a 8K camera) and payback definitely has the best story. Unbound is best at making the feeling of money so precious and rivals is for.. Obviously being so hard that gamers use the disk as a frisbee and putting their controller in a microwave while the consoles being deep fried. Most wanted is in my opinion good at labeling extremely hard races as easy. I think we all know hot pursuit obviously makes you say I PAYED [insert price] FOR A GAME WITH NO STORY? everybody knows that shift is trying to make your ears pop

Gotta hands it to Ghost with the graphics of 2015. The way they pulled out the trick is executed very well. Because the game is always in night times, they sacrificed the far away texture to have more space handling the lighting and LOD.

It's because it's all set at night. This allowed them to create a custom set of shaders that make for incredible simulation of lighting. It's the same reason why the CGI in Pacific Rim is so much better than in the sequel. A huge part of the fact the human eye recognizes something as fake is because the lighting is off. And emulating real lighting in the dark is much much easier, because the light isn't everywhere, bouncing a billion times on every surface, but it acts much more straightforward.

Engine Sound Analysis 11:22 As a real-life owner of a 2002 Acura RSX Type S, I'd have to say NFS Heat nailed the sound. Heat was the only game where you can hear the Vtec engagement at 6k RPM (which is what the K20a2 does IRL), so good attention to detail! As for NFS 2015, the RSX-S just sounds like a generic Honda car. Same goes for Payback, but even worse.

2015 definitely dropped the ball in terms of the handling. However, the overall atmosphere, customization, graphics and soundtrack were all amazing. There's something that this game along the reworked handling mod has while cruising around the mountains at night that's simply beautiful

Graphics and effects aside, NFS Heat's environment/city looks so rushed, empty, repetitive, and lacking in detail compared to NFS 2015 and Payback's beautifully detailed cities and environments. There's so many areas that look like it should have had more props in it. Its like the devs just left it there and forgot to put more objects and details in certain areas. I've literally seen the same straight-lined low bush or hedge in almost every part of the city in Heat. It's bad enough that the traffic is soooo low and that there aren't AI racers anymore in free-roam. It feels so synthetic and unnatural driving around Palm City. Whilst in the other 2 games, there are more details and beautiful views that are unique to almost every location especially in NFS 2015. It doesn't give you the feeling of repetition, blandness or emptiness. It feels like a real city one would drive in.

Heat for me mostly because you can tune the sound the exsaust makes and how aggressive the backfire is, and on a sude not destruction in heat is good you just have to hit things hard. Like if you have a Audi r8 the back of it can loosly flap at you drive. Also 10/10 the beck kustoms need to return in heat. Best car ever

NFS 2015 Ainda continua tendo a melhor ambientação até hoje, o capricho que tiveram na iluminação desse jogo é absurda, tem detalhes que não encontramos em nenhum outro, um deles é a perfeição dos faróis dos carros e como a luz refrata por dentro deles ou a reprodução perfeita do metal das rodas, em muitas horas esse jogo chega no fotorrealismo...Outra coisa é o trabalho excepcional de reflexos que esse jogo tem e sem o uso de Raytracing....Ele estava muito a frente do seu tempo em qualidade gráfica, se ele fosse lançado hoje ainda seria MUITO mais bonito que o Unbound por exemplo.

i would say for graphics, 2015 is like an underground 3 & set the benchmark for all future nfs titles to follow & improve on when it comes to releasing underground style titles. heat has really vivid colours but it somehow reminds me of how a modern GTA should look like.

For me, Payback had the most thrilling story, Heat was ok-ish with more variety of events, NFS15 was the most inmersive/realistic one

I love the 2015 game. Its still my fav. It really is one of the well made games. This is definitely in my top best alongside most wanted, underground, the run etc.

Nfs 2015 has this sweet old Carbon vibe Makes all the difference

Well imo nfs 2015 has the best stroyline, it's make me feel the atmosphere of underground race vibes,, but sadly nfs 2015 has very annoying bug, cars goes fly when hit the other player cars during multiplayer race and misstextures map in some places like in the highway and industrial town

Well for the storyline I will disagree. The storyline of NFS 2015 was just cringy cutscenes with fist-pumping and drinking a lot of Monster. The best part the character was realistic like NFS Undercover`s storyline cutscenes not animated like NFS Payback, Heat or other NFSs.

I literally bought the whole NFS series in childhood. Was such a crazy fan...NFS underground, Pro Streets, Undercover, Hot Pursuit, Porsche...and more!

NFS Heat brought back the NFS feeling. It's maybe as good as the big predecessors in mid 2000s but they were in that time new and maybe a bit overevaluated. Altough none can take the good moments they gave us in our childhood. The thing is maybe they were way better than newer racing games is the attitude what the play industry had then. Anyway, NFS Heat bring back a little bit of that era. This is the biggest advantage of Heat. It has unity experience, unique and heart-warming vibe(Miami lol) and it gave us something what I can't explain... It's just an opinion, but that's what Heat means for me. Anyway, good comparison 👍

Just completed and got platinum on nfs 2015, great game. Haven't played a nfs since undercover.

Payback got me back in to NFS, The last NFS game I played was carbon. I picked up NFS & Heat later on. Am enjoying all 3 games

Actually it's Anubis (nasus is a game recreation)

I felt like the health bar in NFS Heat severely hurt the replayability in doing cop chases for fun. Now I have something to worry about in a arcade game that is not necessary.

i agree bc the sad health bar given to racers in nfs rivals was the most unsufferable feature on god's earth, the cops had magic attacks on top of that, heat made it bigger but you have 3 repairs lmao

2015 is the best looking racing game I've ever seen

2015 the most realistic, Payback the most arcade and fun, Heat a beautiful mix of both. Well, 2015 is all in all the best of this Trilogy but Heat and Payback are still very good titles too. All things of 2015 came in Payback and Heat up again, but Heat has the Realism of 2015 and the fun gameplay of Payback.

I agree with you for the soundtracks in 2015 it's better than the newer ones because the newer ones kinda sucks.

We need another Underground Series with similar gameplay and modern graphics(maybe put cops and more how you setup your upgrades in the shop like ECU tuning ,turbo etc) !!! THAT IS WHAT I WANT !

About the atmosphere.... NFS 2015 really win my heart.

In december we are going to get NFS 2015 with Prime Gaming, after seeing this video I think I will try it, I was not planning to do it even if it was "free". Heat seems decent, although after playing FH4 and FH5 I don't know how it will feel to play an NFS. Very nice comparison/review. Next time you could leave out the songs and just quote your favorite soundtrack, or make a video dedicated only to that section so you don't render EVERYTHING.

The only big difference is 2015 the streets were always wet. 2017 pay back the streets were dry not wet like some graphical mod you see people installing for GTA V and same thing with 2019 Need for Speed, but not so bad as 2015. If you take away the wet Street in 2015 it would look something like Payback.

Ngl, Pyara and Surface in nfs 2015 has gotta be one of the best and nostalgic soundtracks ever heard so far in my opinion

Nfs 2015 uses a auto tinting color (colour) each area has a trigger that changes the tint color each time you pass on some area like the highway the canyon and tunnels too

All of them are worth a try. I’ve spend most time on 2015 following by heat. Payback feels the same but overall it feels and looks more like a kids game than the others do.
