Jared Lorenzen is the most heart breaking of all. His life spun out of control, and it took a tole on him emotionally, mentally, and physically. If only he could've gotten the help long before it was too late. Rest in peace, Jared.

Lorenzen was so much fun to watch. My family had season tickets at commonwealth. Not the best seats, but still went every home game. We went and saw Lorenzen throw bullets to the chests of his teammates for a few seasons. UK fans didn't have much around that time in football, but he helped make us relevant for four good seasons. It's been a long time coming for us to manage some 10 win seasons, and Jared was a part of that process. He'll be missed, and remembered by UK fans for being the badass he was at commonwealth. RIP.

The Jared Lorenzen one was odd to me. I had no idea he passed away. I remember, I had a friend of mine in middle school. Same last name, was in our nerdy group. I remember him mentioning to me that one of his cousins played in the NFL named Jared on his dad's side. Me being a kid, I was both in shock and disbelief. I looked it up later, found out that he was telling the truth. I followed Jared for that year, just out of respect for my friend, but was still kinda cool to know my friend had a cousin who was on the Giants' roster. Until I watched this video today, I had no idea Jared Lorenzen was going through all of that. Everything I was told about 'em, seemed like he was a pretty cool dude. RIP man! Your cousin still remains a good friend, so I have no doubts you came from great people!

Likewise....he lived across the street(literally) and it just so happened to be the demarcation point between Simon Kenton and Scott high schools, so he went to SK and we went to Scott. If the sound of "Foot", or a ball getting tossed outside, it was "YOUGIZEGONNAPLAYSOMEFOOTBALL?" in one very excited and rapid word lol.....we had a semi-organized backyard football group composed of mainly current and explayers from Scott and a few others, 2-3 games a week, ages 13-18 generally. Full contact, no pads, no refs, no BS. We usually set up field in President's Park in Edgewood, Ky. He was usually so swamped with stuff he hardly got to play with us, but when he did it was crazy. Scary powerful. Wish we could go back, and re-live 1996-99.....Good times.....good times.....

Oh yeah, 96-99 were some of my favorite years growing up in my late teen days. We had some classic football games every week against the local garbage men who always beat our asses because they were just too strong. Picking up all those bags all day made them strong as hell. Those nyc winters were historically brutal too, the fields were totally frozen which worked to their advantage because we were younger and faster but the frozen nyc tundra killed that. Good times though lol

6'6" at 245 isn't necessarily bad for an NFL player. It could be muscle. Not saying thats the case for Russel, but for pro athletes BMI doesn't mean as much as it does to regular people. Josh Allen is 6'5" 240

You're right about that. BMI is only based on averages for height and weight. I was a college athlete and the BMI chart said I was overweight and nearing obese. Our whole team was hydro-statically tested -- the most accurate technique for body mass & fat percentage -- and I came in at 8% body fat. BMI is completely useless for athletes and others who have a lot of muscle mass. That was a long time ago. Unfortunately for me, I look more like JaMarcus Russell now.

Omg, I'm crying because I know this kind of pain. 😢 I've always had weight issues, even as a child. In 2003 I got fed up and dropped 127 lbs. After losing my granddaughter to a tragic accident, and having my marriage break up after 35 years, I fell into a deep depression and started gaining it all back because food became my crutch again.. 😔 Yesterday I realized that I wouldn't be long for this world if I didn't start dropping this weight again. After seeing this, I feel stronger and more confident about losing the weight! This young man's tragedy probably just saved my life. Rest in peace. I know how hard you tried. 💔😭

I thought exactly the same thing. When he said Russell's BMI made him 'clinically obese', that must've been when he was over 300lbs. Maybe that's the problem when you write something and give it someone to read/record who knows nothing about what they're reading. Reminds me of hearing someone say 'Steven Curry' on a KZread video. Hope you guys are all good.
