Wow. I didn't know that. It was the part that broke me in the video (well... one of the parts) hearing him cracking down. Oooof...

Mama off of his new album Hope is a sequel to this in a way. It brings tears of a different sort. They are happier tears I feel. The song shows his growth. I definitely recommend checking it out soon.

Another related one from the new album is Happy, which many will tell you is not happy, but the bottom line message is that we can change our outlooks and heal - and I think that is a very happy message. In fact, I would say that is the real message of the Gospels, that we can choose to take a healthy view of life and forgive ourselves and others and be happy.

I love this song still, I’m 22 my mama dropped me off at my step dads when I was about 14 and never picked me up for 2 years I was only supposed to be there a weekend I did a few drugs, attempted suicide in and out of mental hospitals constantly getting with older guys, then she got clean she came back for me and my brothers. I’m so proud of her, it will never erase the trauma or mental illness I’m going through but I am so proud of her she’s so strong. Addiction is serious, it can be helped, my mom got help. I would listen to this religiously when I was younger.

U r beautiful inside and out..that only happens when a person has gone through some tough things..I have a hard time watching u cry but it's beautiful at the same time..hard 2 explain..I guess it's just refreshing in a world full of fake ppl..keep smiling!!🤪✌️

One of the hardest things one can do is to accept the imperfections and demons of our parents. In a more just world, both my parents would have been in prison for what they've did to others. It can be tough to love the person while despising their acts. But it can be done. That's ultimately what love is...accepting someone for who they are as well as who they can't be. Great song. Apologies for taking so long to get to your older reactions. I'm working on it. 🙂

You are so right. Loving someone for who they are, as they are. Whenever a change is needed (and let's face it, no one is perfect and everyone has something to work on), that very change needs to come from yourself. His song "Mama", is beautiful also. The whiff of that cigarette smell always gets me, my mum hasn’t died but she has been gone since I was young, I still remember her cigarette brand and how her car would always smell like cigarettes

Smells are a huge memory trigger. Recently I walked in a friend's apartment complex hallway, and it smelled like my grandmother's cooking (she passed long time ago). I haven't smelled that in over 20 years and it threw me back in time!

Don't try and force yourself to hold back tears for these types of videos. If you do that it's not a real reaction.
