The thing that always made me respect Ronaldo is that yes, he was a genius, but his skill didn't come from natural talent the same way as players like Messi, Neymar, Ronaldinho, etc. It always felt to me that those same skills came mostly from hard work and dedication, which made him the best during his prime.

I think you are confusing technique with dribbling. I wouldn't say all four of them are more technical than Neymar but there is an argument to be made, especially with Thiago.

He stated that, with all his humility, he can't say someone is more talented than him. He states the he see's himself in the top pool of players and mentions others in that pool

For Neymar, it proved hard to pick five best ones then him, he is humble, no one is better than Neymar Jr in current football, though other won more awards, but he is a true genius, as well as flamboyant player.

No one is more technical then menino Ney!

It's interesting because his list gives you a glimpse of what he considers to be a technical player and it isn't really players like him. He didn't pick players who are great at big flashy skill moves like Ronaldo, Mbappe, Dembele, Sancho, etc. He chose guys who are more known for close control and being able to dribble in limited space. You can tell he appreciates that Messi and Iniesta style of control and dribbling. Though in truth Neymar is one of the few who is good at both styles.

In his early years at United he was also tasked to take corners and track all the way back into his own penalty box like every traditional winger, the reason he conceded a couple of penalties in his career.

He rarely breaks the front line for Liverpool due to his intelligence and adapting to his role. His tackling ability is right up there too as he reads the game so well and doesn't drive in. Basically he is a unique talent who can do anything with a football technically. I see a mixture of Scholes, Gazza, Xavi, D.Silva. He is underrated perhaps due to physical presence and few goals despite having sublime technical abilities. He rarely showboats too. First name on the team sheet. Teams are more likely to win games with him there: ask Bayern and Liverpool. Fact.

I am Brazilian and a translator English/Portuguese/Spanish). I didn't see Neymar say at any moment that anyone is more skillfull than him in this video, even though he named 5 players he considers the 5 most skillful players among which he includes himself. His favourite to play with is Messi (who everybody knows holds the title as number 1 at the moment). From what I understood, he doesn't consider anyone more skillfull than him at the moment. And he is probably right, he is the most skillful and not only a show man, he helped Messi to score many goals.

Neymar is a lovely person off the pitch. Sincere, kind, generous and evidently quite humble. DeBruyne, Verratti, & Thiago are all world class in their efficiency, clinical passing, positioning, reading and prediction, but none of them have a patch on Neymar in terms of technical ability. Messi & Hazard I'll give if he considers technical ability to be mainly about dribbling as they're the two best dribblers in world football, but I still think Neymar is more technical all round. And I say this as a Messi fan and a Liverpool fan.

Neymar is OUTSTANDINGLY technically gifted, super consistent, but, there are more technical players….but hardly anyone whos also as fast/agile/nimble as him. Others as technical cant just cant by people as often as Neymar does.
