From what I was told. The sounds in this video will come with all versions of Nexus 3. It is the Rom Extension 2 Expansion that comes with Nexus 3. It's the 360 new sounds they mentioned.

Will this be nks standard natively or thru some kind of third party set up? Is the set up easy? I think thia is worth 250 considering other plugins that cost more and do less

It will Be Native. They installed NKS folders with nexus. They just don’t have anything in them yet.

Yes, 360 new sounds. I go through some of them, the whole end of the video. So it's like a $100 expansion that gives you a few new features and also the need for no dongle. lol

If I ever upgrade, it would ONLY be for the no dungle. Other than that, those new presets sound like the old ones tbh and that new gui is ugly af lol. Thanks for the review doe.

Thanks for the vid on this I cant bring myself to buy this and it not because if the price. I have no problem investing in what I love it's just I strive to find things that no one wants. It seems like everyone in the game is using this or at least they make us think that. If a big time producer started using boo boo vst we all would want it. Have you played with Analoge lab 4.

The lack of dongle is worth it enough. Especially since I recently lost mine (which was also taped together) from like 2k7. Owned nexus since the beginning and had thousands invested. The ui isn't pretty, but it makes way more practical sense than the old one. The included sounds are a little uninspiring, but future expansions/expansions in general are where the real value/good sounds are. So stoked to be using nexus again after two months of having a lost dongle.

Yes, they for sure needed to get rid of the dongle. Everyone that I talk to had tape on their dongle. Lol I hope they come out with some inspiring sounds soon!

2 be honest im not feeling the interface. it looks like some other very similar VSTs. outside of the appearance it looks flame. i really like the color waves aspect and also the fact thay u can preview the song ....i think eventually i may purchase it but i cant say im dying to

The way you organize your sounds in it is pretty genius. I've never liked when a plugin has 1000s of presets, I never end up using them because I'm lost in them. But Nexus 3 handles it very smoothly (I just make my own categories and put sounds into those)

Do you have the full version? Like the 3k+ version? Im still on the starter..with a few expansions...I think its worth the upgrade tho -- no dongle needed AND the ARP functions added are DOPE. I do like the preview function and seems like it runs faster than the previous one. I still use Nexus 2 because some of the sounds seems like they dont work on this new one. BUT this is dope. Def. a good start.

Upgraded on the 29th when it came out. It’s dAmn sure worth it to me. I’ve been using Nexus for 8 years and love it. Often I like to just go to work without a lot of tweaking and Nexus is perfect for that. I also own Avenger and Serum so if I want to tweak I go there.

@@Joeman7890 I have Avenger and it is a total beast! Sounds amazing but if you prefer using presets right out of the box then Nexus 3 is the one to buy. I'm no good at sound designing and Avenger is hard to work with. Most EDM producers use Nexus. It's very easy to get a song started with Nexus and helps your creative flow. Avenger is powerful and limitless but you need to understand it. Nexus 3 is a rompler with samples. Hope this helps. 😎

When you install it in your vst folder. FL studio should be able to scan it, and you ADD it to your track.

Is it still rompler-based?....and, do you think its sonically better than Nexus2 ( just hearing the current Presets you went thru sounds ALOT like Nexus2 with minor tweaks here and there ) or should ppl seriously invest their Money into Omnisphere2?

Yea it is. I think the new presets have the same “Nexus Sound”. But it is Nexus. I’d get omnisphere over Nexus.

It has some pads that you may be able to use.

the 3rd party free presets and expansions wont work on v3 any more. i upgraded and didnt know they shut out 3rd party presets saying they are illegal. i still have my v2 if i need to pull up a track i made...

Yea I had a bunch that wouldn't work. They never really worked much anyway for me. So it's not really a loss personally. But I know some people who have a lot of them and used them regularly. So that sucks.

Great video. For me, the update isn't about how pretty it is or new factory sounds. The ease of use has tripled. Search features, favorites, projects, etc. have quadrupled my workflow speed. I'll be using a folder for every project. You have a giant monitor and Nexus 2 has little scroll windows. It's way outdated and inefficient. As far as pretty, the tiny 3D look of Nexus 2 is a past trend. Moving forward, UIs "look the same" as someone said because they are flat (current trend in graphics is a "flat" design as opposed to 3D real world drop shadow type stuff) vector graphics that keep graphic quality when enlarged. Bottom line, perfectly crisp scaled up on any giant screen. Either way, many technical things when it comes to layers, arps, fx, etc. are improved as well. Download expansions and install time is a couple of clicks. No keys, importing, nothing. All auto. I'm happy with the $99 upgrade based on the work that was done and higher usabilty.

If you have old projects made with nexus 2 you can not open it with Nexus 3 with no problems. They changed and renamed the old sounds (Presets) so if you load old projects the sounds are missing. To solve this problem using Nexus 2 and Nexus 3. I have a easy solution for it.

@@DDS825 I ask the support of refx and they told my that the renamed a lot of the old sounds. Also some old sounds were removed for example the folder XP Vintage Bonus. The expansion of XP Vintage Bonus is deleted.

It's basically a monthly subscription cost of 60 bucks, if you think about it. Doing it that way, you're generally always on trend.

It might have been the software I used to screen capture.

The thing I don't like about nexus 2 is that most of the synths sound just cheap. If you compare them to serum or diva, the difference is just huge. I thought it's because nexus 2 is already that old, but the quality hasn't really improved it seems. Those sounds sound like they are from 10 years ago. It's hard to describe, but they sound just plastic, you know? And even the gui looks like it could be over 10 years old. Tbh, I expected much more from a synth that came out this year. Especially a synth at that price range.

NEXUS 3 is an excellent Rompler. Pair it with analog synths and you're set. Comes with a HUGE library of thousands of sounds... 'favorite' the ones you like, and make music. It's not rocket science. It's funny how people keep judging NEXUS' *sound* in a vacuum... it's a ROMPLER... the source material can be from ANYWHERE (Analog, Digital, Sampled, DX7, D50, M5, etc). OF COURSE it will sound cold sometimes... Also, if you want to judge NEXUS 3 (vs 2 & 1) you need to hear the *new* sounds (ROM+ 2, Feel Good House, EDM 5, Commercial Dance, etc.)

T Elvis I haven’t run into that problem because I run Nexus 2 on my Mac with a Mio 2 so that I can use Mac and PC at the same time, but that’s crazy. Nexus 3 is on PC. You should open a ticket on their website . There must be an update on the way for that. A lot of people are having that problem.

Wow! That’s interesting. I was able to pull up old projects with out any real issues. The only issue I had was the window size being the same as nexus 2 was and I couldn’t change it. But I’m that scenario I could still use the sound. I pulled up a project from 4 years ago.

no such thing as a bad sound, when u have eqs and plugins like drip... i literally went thru the sounds i do not like and drip made them sound so much better.. i make hip hop trap and r and b music. most modern vsts cater to edm and dance so its hard to adapt... nexus has sump for every genre... also so does Electra2.. i have omnisphere as well so that about covers all layers lmao

Third Party Plugins from Nexus 2 WILL NOT WORK. Definitely not worth it for just a basic Rompler with the same quality of sounds. I fucked myself and upgraded to 3 just to find out my presets wouldn’t work even though they made it seem as if all our old sounds would work before N3 did drop. Sick 😂

Aww man, well the original nexus 2 presets and expansion does work. But someone told me they said that the 3rd party presets are illegal so they made it to where you can't use them. So all of my 3rd party presets were just the default lead. lol

If you still have the account and Nexus 2 is registered to it. Just purchase the upgrade and it won’t ask for the eLicenser. I didn’t have mine plugged in during installation or using it. You just have to download refx cloud and you should be good to go.

Oh this ain't it. Damn and we we're anticipating this for years. The real instruments don't sound that good. When you got to that guitar, I was like wtf? The synths didn't move me either. It's just like damn, this shit just don't sound as clean as omnisphere, serum, nor a bunch of kontakt libraries that I got, especially the output stuff.
