    this is a layman channel. explanations are structured in a way say a mom who wants to buy a wifi router and sees WPA3 on the box can watch this video and get the gist of what it is and if its worth the 10 bucks more it costs than the one next to it with out the WPA3.

    Layered networks and whitelists are still the best way to keep safe at the home and using the public wifi to do anything sensitive will carry a risk. Most hackers don't "pull your info from the air". Rather they port knock on a given device to "see" the packets that are being sent (this is where layering your networks come in handy... the more firewalls you have, the harder it is to get to the device). Equally important is the whitelist on a router. This allows (or bans) certain devices to connect by MAC address which means that you can have a network that everyone can see and know the password but depending on MAC permissions can or cannot connect to. I pull that one on the kids all the time to make sure chores are done before they can get wifi.

    I really want to see another video about windows game mode, because I use that while playing Overwatch on my laptop because I get a better internet connection and 10 more frames per a second I think. I think that when you tested the windows game mode you were using better hardware and that the windows game mode is more meant for much lower end systems than an i3 and GTX 1050ti. Also you never tested internet speeds because I never want to close all my tabs and some have auto sync and because my internet is terrible (100-400ping while on ethernet) and I have noticed better latency with game mode on. BTW I am using an older i7 chip and my dedicated graphics is a Quadro K1000M and is a laptop.

  • @ikannunaplays

    @ikannunaplays

    5 жыл бұрын

    wesley toulouse you would have to buy new ones. When the industry switch from wep to wpa I was sitting there with tones of devices that never got firmware updates as hardware makes just claimed it wasn't possible to just update the firmware to give it newer in security encryption (liars). So I just had configure my router to not use the new encryption and kept using the old weaker encryption anyway, until every device was eventually replaced. But that never happened, I still use devices that are stuck on WEP, like the Sony PSP, and other devices. So, I keep a special router connected to the main router that provides access to the older security devices in a way that if someone did get the access password they'd not get access to anything important.

    How could it? WPA3 encryptes the traffic between you and your router. Your router connects to your internet provider (the company you pay to get internet access). The government has open access to everything your internet provider sees (everything). VPN might be an alternative.
