    Very nice job with this. It's been good to see MRC go from mostly foam airplanes to selling a lot of balsa/ply airplanes, and now getting into gas. I do mostly gas airplanes. When taking a new airplane out of the box before starting assembly, I recommend going over all the glue joints you can see with just a bit of thin CA. This is just cheap insurance. When you secure your wing, use nylon bolts into the metal blind nuts, never metal bolts. The nylon ones will never vibrate loose. Gas is really easy, and I hope this helps more people to enjoy getting in to, and flying, gas airplanes!

    I sure miss the old model airplanes with glow plugs and nitro-methane fuel. When I was a kid, you could walk around the neighborhood on weekends and always smell the nitro-methane and castor oil mix in the air. I loved that smell. Whenever I smell burning model airplane fuel, I can smell FUN!

    Planing on getting the Nexa spitfire as both hellcat and tiger moth are out of stock now. I'd like to see a balsa BF109 from NEXA

    She is an awesome little flyer, I run mine with an OS .65 glow engine and I mounted the Eflite 25 size 100 degree rotating retracts after the stock retracts kept failing on me. Great everyday flier and awesome in .60 size gaggle flights 👍👍

    I'm old school, started flying RC in 1974 and everything was engine powered. Of course I do electric now as well, but it is really good to see some "standard size" balsa and engine planes being featured, besides the giant scale gas powered 3D monsters. That NG9 appears to be a sweet and reliable engine too.

    Great job Wesley. It's a treat to see you with a gasser. I presume Lori was behind the camera. Always making great shots. Give Skip a squeeze for me next chance you get. 😉

    Nice Wesley. Good plane, good motor. I just don't like the printed covering on these birds and would be much more inclined to purchase if they were just regular monokote, or preferably Ultracote. I know others like this covering, just giving my opinion.

    There's no way I'd gasify a 60" airplane these days. I wanted to see the part where you set it down on the ground after cranking it. . 🤠

    Hi Wesley just bought the NGH 9cc for a trainer 60 size, my question is the motor can be mounted in any position? I mean with the exhaust pointing up or pointing down?…thanks

    Flew very well on a 9cc, considering sight lists it to fly on a ngh17? Would have thought it to be well under powered with only half the cc size engine in it

    People like to say electrics are overpowered but most gassers are compensating for the weight with ungodly amounts of thrust.

    Yes although the 17 will work great (Wes) had the 9cc and this is around a 60 size plane. I do not have unlimited vertical power on this set up but more than enough for scale flight.

    @@MotionRC Nexa/VQ models as they are called here in New Zealand, are nice models. I've the Monaro with ASP91FS, and P40 Kittyhawk with YS F-91AC supercharged. Hopefully will be maidening the P40 over the Xmas holidays.

    Why do nitro planes usually only have 2 propeller blades and electric normally have what the full scale had blade wise

  • @MotionRC

    @MotionRC

    Жыл бұрын

    More than two blades are not efficient and the small motors have a hard time turning them. You end up having to make the prop so short to run multiple blades that it ends up looking silly. 🫡
