It's not the amount of times that you get to perform an action, but the strength of the action. So if you have 3 Lesson action symbols you have a power of 3. That means you can pull from either the tier 3 cards or below, not choose 3 cards. Same goes with the Study action, if you have 2 Study symbols you can place on either the top or middle shelf, you also need to have the specific color journal on your bench as well. The movement through the tech tree, world and work action do work in the sense that you move the amount of symbols you have listed. Either way , love the review Tom!!!

The tableau building looks nice and I love all the tracks where you progress! I'll check out some playthroughs, this one is very interesting.

Tom, love that shirt… Exciting! Looking forward to this review. Who doesn’t love Isaac Newton? Fun & dorky theme. I like the gameplay, straightforward but fun. Fairly Feldian actually and simpler than I expected. Replayability is bolstered by the ever changing tiles, but yet it seems that choices are kind of limited in a way, almost like a puzzle about max/min. It seems less sandboxy though as you need to focus on one area/track. It is a bit too beige, but yet attractive. Super fantastic review Tom, thanks so much !

Very nice review, Tom: thanks. I watched your review of Cohimbra just before watching this. How would you say the two compare to each other? Am I right in saying that they share the same group of designers? And their are both engine-building, point salads? (which I like, don't get me wrong) The decisions there about the number and the color of the dice looked a bit more interesting, a bit of a new element. Also, your final comments on Cohimbra sounded more enthusiastic, a definite buy, while this is "just good" (which I appreciate, don't get me wrong). Would you suggest, if money was not the issue, that I try to find space for both in my collection, or once I have played one maybe the other is not the next game I want to put on the table? And if only one, which one? Thanks!

Usually after watching a review I have made up my mind on purchasing or not purchasing the game, however i'm still unsure on this one.

It's quite a bit lighter than i was expecting... i was digging it, but I'm not sure I like how it seemingly forces you to specialize in one area.. makes it feel a bit rote

I think Grand Austria Hotel is their best game. I have not played this one yet though.

So this is a deck building game? I don't think so

The mechanisms here look pretty cool, but the bland aesthetics and themeing is pretty horrendous. I don't think I'll be able to convince my game group to try it-- I'm still trying to get them to try Marco Polo, and it's themeing is a snooze-fest as well, though not quite as bad as this...

yeah what the hell are designers thinking sometimes... the theme is fucking boring, the art is shit.. Have they not heard of marketing???!! This game is good but NO ONE will touch this shit upon first look.

I suppose the brown is meant to send a message - “Look how serious I am.”. Really, there is nothing wrong with a few nice colours.

symbology? I believe the word you are looking for is iconography.

Jindorek No, symbology is a real word. It is the study and use of symbols, which would contain iconography, as icons are a subset of symbols.
