gugudan were honestly one of the strongest groups in 3rd gen, they had literally everything to be successful, some of their member were already quite famous bc of pd101 and i.o.i, but ofc their company never gaf about their girl group.....

When you do the gugudan marathon, you need to check out the boots acapella title preview version by them. It’s insane.

Ladies' Code still has my favorite kpop girl group albums, myst3ry (title: galaxy) and strang3r (title: the rain). All very timeless songs, especially the slow songs, which are very sophisticated filled with emotions, which are rare in kpop. I was surprised (and not surprised) to find out later these two albums were produced by Jaden Jeong. These girl groups you reacted too here are all very high quality. I feel sad to see some of them are not active any more.

I agree LADIES CODE albums and songs are timeless and will for ever hold a speical place world wide with what they did in such a short amount of time . Jaden Jeong produced the last 2 albums of LADIES CODE and he also co produced the LADIES CODE tribute song I'LL SMILE EVEN IF IT HURTS as he was really close to member RISE and helped her get a spot in the Kpop world from JAPAN 3 years before LADIES CODE was the LADIES CODE that we all know now ... as for a possible LADIES CODE comeback might happen next year as LADIES CODE LEADER ASHLEY said might happen on her radio show a few weeks ago which might happen on the day , it will be exactly 10 years to the day of that day which also happens to be SO JUNG'S birthday that their last of the last comebacks of LADIE CODE will ever have as they have disbanded but not offically disbanded from their company. . For updates if and maybe when watch both ASHLEY AND SO JUNG KZread CHANNELS as ZUNY does not have a KZread CHANNEL ...

For April, I don't know if you have watch Blue Bird, Hold My Hands, and especially the master piece of them, April Story. You may found it interestingly dreamy. For the synth, you may like Lalalilala. In similar vibes with April, you can check Girl's Day b-sides, Don't Trust Her (Please Don't Go) or even their OST, like Cupid. I may recommend some boygroup old song, with similar vibes. ZE:A with Watch Out, SPEED with Don't Tease Me, Block B with Jackpot, BTOB with Shake It (b-sides). It's maybe out of context, but I think you would like to hear an Indonesian song with complex composision including some classical, rock koplo (dangdut), theatrical and some goth combine. Brave Girls Deepened probably their most R&B track, and still IMO their best track, this was the first song of the new lineup, with the current members. The rap is fire, the melody is fire. I KNOW you will love it. Love Gugudan, their company did them dirty, and while I don't begrudge Sejong her success, it was because the company decided to just support her alone, that the group died (also the IOI curse). Ladies Code also so good, but such a sad story. I wish they would put out some more music, but all of what they have released is just awesome. Very different sound as 5 member group, vs 3 member group.

I shall now cry knowing just how many unsung heroes or hidden gems there are out there. ARIAZ was such a big surprise for me since I just came across a song of theirs on my spotify radio, this mv reminded me of Loona's earlier works somehow 😭 A shall now go through Gugudan's discog and cry. I do want to see girl groups like this now... Especially those with a more mature concept! Lately they keep debuting children with teen crush experimental concepts, which I get. But it's nice to see this!!

im so happy to see ariaz! you should listen to their debut mini album it’s SO GOOD. not a single skip not even the intro. since their debut mini album, they also released two remake songs called i like u and hot & cold which are both very good as well. unfortunately, their company was horrible and wasted their potential and 3-4 of the members left the company just recently. the group may not be around anymore but the music they left behind is incredible. they’re one of my favorite groups of all time. one of the members just released a solo song called “looking at love” under the stage name heya. it’s so good you should give it a listen some time. thank you so much for seeing the greatness ariaz had to offer!

Ladies' Code won Rookie of the Year and were incredibly popular before the passing of Rise and Eunbi. Their concept when they were a group of 5 was that bubbly, exciting whacky 2nd gen vibe. I'd recommend checking out their debut song Bad Girl as well as Pretty Pretty and Kiss Kiss :)

Ariaz released one of the best mini albums in 2019 called 'Grand Opera' (heavy Loona/GWSN/WJSN vibes) and then that was it till they unfortunately disbanded just a few months ago, yet another death-by-pandemic Nugu group. Really looking forward to you checking out the album!

Great reaction! Loving the idea of a potential Gugudan marathon! I agree with those recommending Gugudan's acapella "The Boots." They put out two very different acapella versions, both fantastic, one of which was live in one take. I think you'll like the "live" version of subgroup SeMiNa (the one with them in a living room with one mic) as much as the MV if not more, for the kick-ass vocals and sheer fun. And Chococo is way weird in a way that you've expressed appreciation for in other reactions.🙂

Yaasss Fi, you definitely have to do that Gugudan marathon ASAP Rocky and when you do you should also watch their acapella vids cause you won't be disappointed. I'm not in Kpop but spotify recommended me boots while on a Mamamoo marathon and I instantly fell in love and dove into their discography. Them Mamamoo and SPICA are pretty much my fave girl groups in terms of vocals.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that both Gugudan and Ariaz (and April for that matter) are now disbanded. Both The Boots and Moonlight Aria are fantastic, underrated tracks. But no, not all Gugudan tracks are that style or concept. I think one reason they had trouble finding success is their constantly changing concept. They've gone from pure and innocent with their debut "Wonderland" and have done quirky with "A Girl Like Me" to just plain weird with "Chococo" and then straight up girl crush with their final comeback "Not That Type." It's a shame because they're all great tracks. I definitley recommend doing a marathon. Some of my personal favorite b-sides are; "Could This Be Love," "Diary," "Dear," and "Shotgun." If you delve into Ariaz as well, it probably won't be much of a marathon because they just had their debut "Moonlight Aria" and it's corresponding album and that was it. Still a criminally overlooked debut album, check out their b-side "Drama."

Nahh you’re actually not ready for Gugudan’s A Girl Like Me, it’s so fun and to this day my fav track by them. I was never a full on stan, but their vocals were insane. Ladies Code’s music is so damn good!! My personal fav is Chaconne it’s a b-side.
