The King's Academy, a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence with a Top-5 Nationally-Ranked Fine Arts Program, recently performed the high school premiere of "Newsies" on its main stage in the Page Family Center for Performing Arts. Starring senior Kyle Martin (Jack Kelly), senior Chris Pappas (Crutchie), senior Clay Hider (Davey), and sophomore Olivia Cornett (Katherine Plumber), this musical is said to be one of TKA Theatre Co.'s best.
TKA’s Conservatory of the Arts, a two-time American High School Theatre Festival award-winning fine arts program, is led by Mr. David Snyder (Artistic Director, Musical Theater, Department Chair), Mr. Nathan Adams (Vocal Arts), Mrs. Cathy Higgins (Dance- Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz), Mr. Douglas Gawriljuk (Dance- Ballet and Modern), Miss Sarah Fahey (Theatre Arts), Mr. Brad Majzner (Stagecraft), Mr. David Skinner (Instrumental Director), Mr. Wes Lowe (Assistant Band Director), Mr. Patrick Clifford (Strings), Mrs. Macey Norton (Video/Digital Arts), Mrs. Lauren Moxey (Visual Art), Mrs. Stephanie Grasso (Elementary Choir, Woodwinds), and Mrs. Robin Phillips (Piano).

I'm really proud to be honest. I first watched the movie when I was young, so you can guess I'm an old lady by now. Lol. This musical is near and dear to my heart, and he killlllled it! They all did!

I love how in the original the were all hating the Bronx but now they are clapping. Much nicer
Spot does well..hes...spot on...ugh did i just say that...to all the other brooklyn newsies... i have brooklyn in my family... i know when u sing its almost natural to smile big...brooklyn doesnt smile ..you could smurk...a few of you had ear ear smiles....stay in character

I love the girlsies in this
the bronx newsies sounds like they don't want to be there still a great performance though

Good eye! Yes, Chris Santiago was Mike. Today, he is also an accomplished trumpet player and vocalist too-winning this year’s Society for the Preservation of the Great American Songbook’s young artist award!

So, question for all my fellow fansies: Are they newsgirls, girlsies, or new-shes? I always say "newsgirl," but that's because I read a book with a newsgirl main character way before I saw the musical. (All are correct IMO, I just want to know what everyone uses).
