I was disappointed that Spot didn't get as much time in the Broadway as in the movie, 'cause I think he plays an important role, but this song almost completely made up for it! Favourite line is definitely, "Now them soakers is in for a soakin'!" Just that feeling of, "Wow, the cavalry really IS coming and I love it!"

I was kind of disappointed with what the Broadway show did with the story overall. Don’t get me wrong I love the music but I feel like they kind of kicked Spot out and lowkey ruined Jack’s character. Not to mention King of New York is way out of line and the rally is just a mess, because in the film it took the rally for Jack to realize they could still be hurt even with all the boroughs, and that’s why they had to get every working kid in New York.

@@crashvds777 Absolutely fair. Needed more Spot and, yikes, the timing of King of New York was tone-deaf (even if it's otherwise a good way to start off Act II, all fun and energetic). Jack's got a different character arc in the musical, so I can live with that.

And plus the musical took away two perfectly good characters, the writer (forget his name) and Sarah. And replaced them with Kathryn. When they were like "I haven't seen a woman writer" or something like that she's like "Times are changing" like NO!? Times don't change until the 1920s chill out. And then of course she's sassy and stuff and they take away a scene with Jack and Davey just so Kathryn and jack can fall in love. Not to mention the fact that sue gets her own song!?.Also for some reason she's Pulitzers daughter so idk. Also they made medda black which tbh I kind of liked that change. But jacks A painter now so. Overall I prefer the movie, the Broadway version is good. But the movie is just better in my opinion

I love when they talk about hearing that Manhattan is hurting and need help. It shows that they may be different turfs, but they are still one big Newsie family. You mess with one part of the Newsie family, you get the whole Newsie family, and that is perfectly shown here.

It's what I always think of when I hear this song. -Maybe that's why I'm so obsessed with it...-

I love how they're showing up like a week after they found out about the strike and I'm just imagining all the Brooklyn newsies watching the fights and stuff from a distance and just being like "Should we go help them yet?" and Spot's just kinda like "Wait give it a moment I wanna see what they do-"

I want Natasha/Clint/SOMEONE to mutter this as Cap and Bucky appear in the middle of a battle to assist.

I recently found out that my mother's side of the family all comes from Brooklyn, all of them, I mean it. I have Brooklyn blood, and it's awesome! This song is pretty darn awesome as well!

omg i go to an all girls’ school, and most of the cast is girls obvi. and all of the brooklyn newsies are girls, and my director’s thinking about obviously making us girls, and that’s why everyone’s so scared of us and i LOVE IT

Kendal my highschool has more girls than guys in the theatre department and we did newsies. My drama teacher had some girls act as boys but then a lot of them were girls but just newsies style clothing. It was really cool.

I always love in this scene how all of the groups of Newsies seem to have their "kings", like how Spot is king of Brooklyn. Jack was always king of Manhattan, but when he's a no show, it gives me joy to see Davey take over as king of Manhattan. He deserves more credit then he gets.

So Peter Pan is by far one of my favorites if not my favorite Disney movie. And if you know the movie well enough you would recognize that with in the first 3 to 4 seconds of this song is the same music as "following the leader".

This is such a weird favorite showtune to have but this is absolutely my favorite song from a musical. Something about it always makes me so happy and pumped just by listening to it

I had an idea where Manhattan is all guys and queens gets a part in this and queens is all girls, and jack and the "leader" of queens know each other and are friends and have nicknames for the cities and it's the men of manhattan and the queens of queens and they literally make fun of each other all the time.
