You should stay away from all breakfasts with BHT in the ingredients, those ones are basically satanic, as they promote cancer

Agreed. Happy for them now, but their 90s/2000s level will never be touched. And honestly, I think they are OK with that.

ANYTHING Newsboys I absolutely LOVE!!

Where there is hatred and resentment, there will always be pain, disagreement, and strife. That is not how we are to live as Christians. We can never afford to accommodate hatred in our hearts. We are to be loving because that is what helps us forgive. Love corrects but it also gives understanding when people wrong us.

I saw them in miami many many yrs ago, I met Dunca and another band member, I forgot his name .

When my brother and I heard this song live for the first time in Mexico City it was SOOO UNREAL! I think it was one the happiest moments in our lives.

Death. Everyone will face it unless Christ returns first. It's a reminder. They are mourning a friend's death but without mourning. "we don't mourn as those who have no hope". It's a Bible verse. I love this song. My dad had weird pajamas and he loved breakfast. It makes me think of him. I'll see him again!

This was 2002, so Michael was in his own band called "Tait" at this point. He would replace Peter Furler and become lead singer seven years later.

They were both probably on their solo tours during this time. Ironically enough, Michael did make a guest appearance in this concert anyway, but on another song ("The Fad Of The Land").

This song is basically a Steve Taylor-esque way of saying that you need to get in line with God, because in hell, the temporal things you enjoyed on earth, like "breakfast", won't matter much if you end up there for eternity. As you may have already figured out, it's not intended to be a theological "thee-thou-thine-shalt-eth" hymn, mainly because it was written by Steve Taylor (as mentioned earlier). You probably don't know who that is, so I'll help you out: Steve was well known as a Christian artist back in the 80s/90s whose songs contained lyrics that seemed goofy, but were incredibly deep once you understood the meaning behind them. If you check out other Newsboys' songs from back in the 90s, like "Shine" or "Take Me To Your Leader", you'll notice they have the same structure as this one. Same writer, strange lyrics, but deep Christian messages overall.
