Here.... and also in tears. My 5 yr old listens to him almost every day. As I also listened to him when I was 5. Tugging at my heartstrings. I pray his transition would impact his ministry to be stronger than ever! Millions more for the kingdom!

He really was an amazing man my uncle got to meet him him and my mom used to listen to him all the time as teenagers wish I would see him in concert but he’s happy with the Lord and we’ll all be able to meet him in Heaven

Will be missed, but with his music never forgotten

Praise God! I think back upon all those times in my youth when I didn't understand how God was helping me and guiding me with His Word and now I pray for all the youths to do the same one day. They can look back as believers and say Thank you Jesus for how He has helped them in so many ways! 🙏🏻 ❤️ God is very good!

Wow... RIP to one of the greatest soul winners. I used to watch Carmen all the time when I was younger. He made the gospel easy to understand to a young person like me. He will be greatly missed. Well done thy good and faithful servant. ❤

Amen ❤️ This man definitely had been so anointed by God and had a way of reaching out youth ❤️ It's very sad he's passed but knowing he's with our Lord and Savior, brings happiness to my heart and soul ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’m here when I heard he passed away, amazing Christian singer and entertainer plus his concerts were free.

I STILL listen to his music while driving, nearly every week. It's still uplifting and inspiring. See you down the road Brother Carman!! Thank you for serving our King!!

Still gives me chills 40 years later. One of my favorite songs of all time.

Rest In Peace, his concert was one of the best I have ever went too. He will be missed

The anointing stills lives and reaches to where we are. May our Lord comfort his family.

Carman is celebrating with The Lord and the Angelic Armies in eternity with God family. Loving Jesus 4ever. Carman taught us well.

Our son, when he was about three, loved watching "I don't want no monsters in my house" (don't remember the exact title). He would be standing in front of the TV, holding his little Gideon Bible, singing. When he sang "in the name of Jesus Christ " he would hold up the Bible and sing with all his heart. Our son, who is now 28, is into apologetics and loves the Lord with all his heart.

I'm heartbroken. Can't believe he is gone. Still in shock. I got saved because of radically saved and attended that concert. I was wanting to see another concert. I heard he was planning to du one later this month

I remember seeing him in Akron, OH in 1988 and hearing this song...I answered the altar call that day...Carman will forever be part of my Salvation Story! Rest in Him my Brother, enjoy your reward!

I love that he does his music to honor God and win people to Christ instead of for himself and fame. Does he actually do the voices for the demons and satan for this song!? That's amazing!

He was more than just a musician. He was a prophetic storyteller.

So nice to see my generation here 84!! Who remembers Carmen!! And the impact of his music!! Amen glory to God!!

I never went to a concert being in a Pentecostal church, but I went and seen him at a church and he was something else! My first and only concert! I was in my late 20’s or early 30’s,now I’m 63!!

Thank you Carmen - I really love this song and the lyrics - Jesus the champion of our faith.

Wow, a blast from the past! Not heard this in years. I recall lots of occasions when youth groups would do their dramatised versions of "the CHAMPION" go ahead....make my day.That line never failed to bring the house down😂

I just decided to check on my childhood hero. Only to be heart broken. I can't believe we lost Carman. Thank you so much for all you did for us. Rest in the perfect peace of the Lord....

How are you related to this legend?

Jesus uses Carmen mightily, I have been listening to him since ( I want some of that, song) what a Awesome way to witness to our children, family and friends.

I could listen to this a million times he's such a great singer

Carman was a true man of GOD with a powerful anointing and influence on his ministry. I was was of the millions impacted by him in the 1980s and 1990s. I know when our brother walked through the Beautiful Gates on his great gettin' up Morning, the Father smiled, and said: "Well done my good and faithful servant. Now take your place as the choir director of My Heavenly host!" Love you, Carman!

He is missed that’s for sure. His music and talent helped me grow in Christ. Well done good and faithful servant….enter into your rest!

This time in my life meant so much. My kids were teens and Carman played day and night. We went to his concerts. My son is 47 my little girl is 44. I am almost 70. Carman was a part of our lives. Especially this song. Our loss, Heavens gain.

I first heard this performance when I was about 5, almost 30 years ago. Our church did it's own production of it and traveled to all the area churches to perform it. It still gives me goosebumps to listen to it today

The Champion song by Carman remains deeply in my heart...I’ve seen a glimpse of heaven...when I’m in a death bed situation caused by an accident! Indeed there’s Heaven and Angels with wingspans like HAWK-MAN...with brightly eyes! It was like 10sec...then I walked up the major operation was done, i told to my wife what I saw...my wife cried as she told me that I was in a comatose for 3days! Carman...my brother till we meet again!🙏

Oh wow what a shock !!! I went to his concerts and was so touched to the soul.

Thank you for all the memories sir! Rest in His glory now good and faithful servant.

I saw Carman in concert w a church youth group in the 80s & this song made an impression on me & never fails to give me goosebumps! I even remember the "egg" joke he told. Good times 😌

I think this song or "Our Turn Now" was the first song by Carman I heard! This is my all time favorite song, and I had a Children's Pastor who did a lot of human video's to Carman Songs. Why am I just hearing of this guy? He would have been my favorite. I love the '80s interpretation.

He came as a Lamb to the slaughter..... He returns as a Lion to the prey. Therefore: I'd rather grow up to be a lion.... Rather than remain a lamb my whole life. Only those born again, are born to grow up to rule - Revelation 20:6.

The Champion is the first Carman song I heard on the radio. And I was hooked on Carman!

This brings back precious memories. I saw Carman in concert live in the 80's - first as part of our church's Christmas celebration (this was a mega-church) then at the Tupperware Auditorium in Kissimmee, FL which was filmed for a video. I'm not sure why in most of the videos I've found of "The Champion" on KZread Carman omits the actual "countdown" - that was a great part of the song. May God bless Carman!

I saw him at calvary assembly probably in 1978 or 1979. Our youth group was the biggest one in orlando. Called rock house taught by Alex clattenburg. The pastor was pastor hawthorn. Calvary assembly lost God's touch, but till this moment I listen to his music and albums and have used it for the people who are just starting down the road to christ .I don't know if anyone out there would remember a story about Carman he told about the beginning of his life with God a story about getting on a plane and not acting very christ like. I lost the video when I got a new phone. Please anyone can contact me.

So sad to hear of Carmen's passing, but rejoicing that he is with The Champion! This song meant so much to me as a teenager. I can now see that God was pursuing me back then which makes this song even more precious to me now. See ya soon, Carmen! 💜

When my spirit sinks low and I need my First Love, I can find it again listening to Carmen.

Just found out today that he passed. I am upset. He's with Jesus. But, I remember when I took my 3 teenagers to see him live in Asheville, North Carolina back in the 80's. It was great! 🔥 He was one of the greats. R.I.P. Carmen. I'll be seeing you my brother.

I remember doing The Champion as a play in our church back when I was round 12 years. One of the best times in my life in church as a kid. Just to hear the music and remembering my que and all. I played a demon and LOVED losing to the Ultimate Champion...Can you imagine God Himself asking Carman to do this song and all in front of Him and for all in Heaven....WOW

Carman you are already in the presence of God. Even these days I would prepare myself from time to time to watch all the concert videos. How to forget the impact you caused in our adolescence. You will always be an example of love for Christ.
