I was fortunate to receive his autograph. I must have been around 13 at the time. Gordon was filming The Professionals in Chambers Wharf, SE London. I sprang when he was heading towards his car. To be honest I was a little bit apprehensive to approach him, but I did. He obliged and I was taken aback by his wonderful charm. I was expecting him to be just like his character in the Professionals, but he was just a lovely man. It may have seem like seconds, but he didn't rush at all. All I remember was his lovely smile. I vaguely remember him saying something along the lines of 'Of course wee laddie, what's your name?' Over the years that line could have been altered. Memory fades but I'll never forget meeting the great Gordon Jackson. RIP

I would never have believed old Lewis was gone and still cannot accept it even now when I watch these old episodes of the professionals on ITV4 , I mean you see him sprinting around with Martin Shaw? Who'd have thought it then that lousy cancer would do for him? Mind you, with cowley & bodie in Heaven, the place will be like dodge city with God wearing a flak jacket? Lmao

66 was no age, even 20 years ago, though he crammed in more than most of us would manage in 100 years. And to think most of us won't be able to retire until we're 67 or more! I was too young for The Professionals till the reruns which meant I had only just got to know and enjoy Gordon's tremendous talent when he passed.
