I have a Walmart credit card. I got a letter saying that they are discontinuing the Walmart card & transferring me to a different credit card under capital one.

After burning both Capital One and Syncronicity; who would be stupid enough to take Wal Mart as a partner??

If you had a Capital One card you would see this one is entirely justified. Capital One has a system glitch where online orders charge twice cutting purchasing power in half. If I order $1000 TV online but my credit limit is $2000 I can't use my card again for 2 weeks till they remove the 1st hold charge because both the hold and actual charge will be on the account at the same time. It can even result in an order being canceled.

I agree 💯 I received the letter 2 days ago that my walmart credit card will go to 1.5 percent no they can roll it in a tight little wad and shove it up their dairy air

I have 8 Synchrony cards all MC and Visa and a Lowes card, I've never had issues you pay the bill on time rinse and repeat. I've dealt with them for years with no issues, as long as you keep the algorithm consistent with no out of the ordinary activity it should be a smooth relationship.

I think you have a very good point. Walmart stores inc still use synchrony for the Sam’s club card. I always thought that was strange as well.

I’m surprised Walmart doesn’t just partner with Arvest (another Walton family company). Their lineup is underwhelming, and it could be a draw, but I’m guessing Arvest don’t want to take on the clientele Walmart corporate want to issue to.

I had the walmart credit card for 3 years already when it was still with the other bank (Syncrony) wish I really don't like and was so happy when I heard it was being switched to Capital one!... A company I do like very much... Walmart need's to just make up their freaking minds....

I have the Walmart Rewards credit card, I won’t miss it nor do I care I’d have more use for the Mastercard. Both have 5% online shopping via Walmart and 2% in store. The MC gives 2% restaurants, 2% travel, 2% gas stations, 1% everything else.

I don't think the overlap of credit card churners and Walmart customers is very big. Capital One was the best bet as they generally serve those on the lower end of credit scores, but I know many people that do their regular shopping there probably don't have or use credit as much as say someone who shops a lot on a website or department store. When I shopped at Walmart regularly I was a poor college student with a debit card.

As a walmart employee on money service it drives me nuts how much debt people carries on their walmart credit card and paying minimum (always recommend them to pay more) 😢😢

I wish America educated on credit and finances, credit is a tool and a powerful one but credit is only seen as a second income to most folks and an instant gratification tool which equals debt.

One is a financial technology company, not a bank. Maybe this is a new company "Coastal Community Bank" that Walmart is starting. It says that it is a debit card and not a credit card.

This is one of the reasons I held up on applying for this credit card. I wasn’t sure what was gonna happen between Walmart and Capital One. I was very interested in this credit card because of how much I shop at Walmart. After seeing the news of everything that was happening I said I better hold off and see what happens. So glad I did. I am not sure what direction Walmart is going at this point. Kind of a shame because I would have liked to have the benefit of having this card since I shop at Walmart regularly.

I fully read a news story at some point in the distant future Capital One will transfer the Wal-Mart to a traditional card that will reward the user with Capital One points. That's what I read. Eventually it will take time for Wal-Mart to find a new bank to partner with. The reason Wal-Mart has to sue banks in a court room is because the banks lawyers rather fight Wal-Mart in court to keep Walmart rather than allow Walmart to go elsewhere even when violations on the contracts were clearly made.

With Walmart's track record of suing their issuing banks, who is going to want to work with Walmart? I think Walmart got too smug after they got an Amex Platinum credit.

My wife is addicted to Walmart. Is there a better card to shop in store at Walmart than the US Bank Shopper's Plus card which pays 5% but has a $95 annual fee?

Depends on what you define as better: Amex BCE is free and will give 3% if you use Walmart Pay in-store

You can technically use citi custom cash and give 5% back on the highest category that you spend on that card

I just signed up for the Walmart Rewards Capital One credit card just 2 days ago. It said I'd get 5% on Walmart purchases. I don't have the physical card yet but it was automatically linked to my Walmart account. Will I get my 5% when I get the card like the offer said
