@@MustDoCanada It is certainly rare to find anyone from outside the Atlantic provinces who has heard of SPM. Even most people in Quebec have no idea that there is a part of France just off the coast of Newfoundland. I remember once telling an acquaintance of mine from Montreal about these islands, and he was convinced that I was pulling his leg. This was back in the pre-Google days, so I had no way of proving it to him!

I live along the coast of Maine, within a few minutes drive of the US/Canadian border (Campobello Island). My family (both sides) are from Canada (Nova Scotia and PEI) and still have relatives there. I've been planning a trip in my sailboat to St. Pierre (perhaps in 2021 or whenever this Covid thing is behind us). I've been to Newfoundland many times but never to St. Pierre et Miquelon. My French isn't very good though. The last time I was in Paris, they asked me to please stop trying to speak French because they spoke English and I was "ruining their beautiful language!"😁

I don't think so. I think it's technically possible because locals need to bring them over, but from what I understand, you need to rent once there. It's very small though

@@ohmenervesphotography That's just for the ferry? It's tough to say. There's not a lot there, no. An old fishing village, couple museums, and some hiking on the other island of miquelon. I think it's more if you just want to see and experience this unique French island. But for sheer activities and what not, Newfoundland certainly has more
