NEWFOUNDLAND FOOD | EATING COD TONGUES at Chafe's Landing in Petty Harbour

In this video, we are on a quest to try some of the Newfoundland food dishes, including Cod Tongues - a Newfoundland delicacy!
We are starting off with a quick visit to Dildo, Newfoundland, a quaint historical village with a buzz. We enjoy our pints at Dildo Brewing Company, one of the Newfoundland must visit breweries.
For our Newfoundland food quest, we are visiting Chafe's Landing in Petty Harbour - a popular restaurant that serves fresh seafood and many Newfoundland delicacies, such as Moose Burgers, Codfish Tongues, Fish and Brewis with Scrunchions and Toutons.

Tongues and cheeks, I haven’t had fisherman’s brews, since I was a teenager. When my great grandmother made them for me and my Grandfather and father. That was 47 years ago . Thank you so much I actually got emotional thinking about it. I believe Aunt Bessie , made the hardtack. 💕

And pretty Petty Harbour is a must-do if you're in the St. John's area! The choice of Chafe's Landing was a solid one; everything is good there. I need to get out there for a feed of tongues ... soon!!!

La Batts bought out Dominium Brewing and now brews Blue Star and Jockey Club, Blue Star was and still may be a love hate relationship. On the Placentia Bay run I would trade a fifth of Bacardi Silver for a Mason Jar of Screech!

It's fascinating to hear about the connections between different breweries and the unique exchanges that take place. Trading a fifth of Bacardi Silver for a Mason Jar of Screech sounds like quite the memorable exchange! It's these kinds of experiences that add depth and character to the local culture.
