3 years ago was our first year with this larger flock. We lambed all at once in March. The past 2 years we split the group into lamb in March and May. Any open ewes lambed in August or maybe September. It’s interesting that you shared this comment because I discussed with the family that I would like to lamb in April and open ewes get bred for September. Not sure if we will change for next year yet. There’s a lot of factors involved and advantages/disadvantages to lamb all at once. The main issue would be adequate space for housing the lambs. They’re housed year-round.

@@ambryacres with that many ewes, I can see how space would be an issue. I pasture my ladies so space isn’t as much of an issue, and it helps with feed. It’s just that lambing takes so much work! I try to get it all done in 2 weeks ( although I had a yearling drop yesterday)

@@reppfarms4493 sorry to hear about your yearling ♥️. Our goal is to make multiple changes in near future with hopes of providing pasture. It’s pretty hard these days due to land prices which is becoming a barrier gaining land ideal for pasture. Although it is one of our goals 🙏
