About time drummers stop thinking they can’t play a crash smaller than 18” 😉

Paper thin crashes seem to respond quicker then the sweet crashes. And a higher pitch than the dark crashes. Great tones

they aren't higher pitched. the fundamental is lower. they just sound cleaner in the upper harmonics.
To everyone saying they are higher pitched than the dark thins. They are not. The fundamental is lower but the upper harmonics are sparkly and cleaner. That's what makes them sound higher pitched, because the harmonics of the dark thin especially the 18 have more midrange. Just listen in proper headphones. The fundamental is exactly what you'd expect. Dark thins are higher than k sweets (19 is closer than others though) which are higher than paper thins.
Paper thin crash 20 and 22... WONDERFUL!!
Man, I’d use that 22” as a light ride. Maybe not where a huge amount of stick definition is needed, but in an alt-rock context, for example, it could be really cool: nice wash and a pretty cutting bell.
Yes it is about time they make a paper thin crash cymbal since paiste and meinl have one. It sounds amazing thank you DCP!
I'm such a paiste guy but zildjian keeps pulling me over with their offerings. Love the avedis series, the K sweet series, and now the K paperthins.

Nice choices
They sound great! I like how larger diameters get a little more trashy characteristic going on, but not too much, it's still mostly a clean sound.
It would be cool to see these in sizes down to 14/15/16. I have a Dream Bliss Paper Thin in 15” and it’s the most incredible ‘large splash’ accent sound for upbeats and in combo with snare hits. Love this type of cymbal.
Zildjian is coming out swinging now, bout time! These sound incredible!
Nice video. About 25 years ago, I bought a 15" paper thin A Zildjian for lower volume jobs with a jazz trio and songer. I think very thin cymbals sound great - dark and with a genuine crash instead of the somewhat more gong-like spread thicker cymbals can have. Zildjian dropped the paper thin crashes from the A line some time ago, nice to have them back.

I thought the A Fast crashes were essentially paper thin crashes just remarketed
@franktatom1837
2 күн бұрын
@Butterlegs100 Could be. A side-by-side comparison would tell if that was the case. My 15" paper thin is, however, much more thin than my thin crashes. Because it is called "paper thin", I've treated it with more care than I otherwise would have.
My A 18" Paper Thin is one of my absolute faves in my arsenal, would love one of the larger guys like that 22" makes for a good step between a china/trash without going in that direction or possibly even using as a crash-ride in a more stripped down set-up. I think I'm in love lol thanks for the video
Love to see and hear those. Once I had a 16” A Paper Thin Crash. It must have been from the 70s. Sold it with the drums 30 yrs ago, but now I’ve bought my best set ever including the K Sweet Kit. This can be a great complement. Liked the 18” and 21” the best. Thanks for the video. Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪.
Great Job DCP. You have the only site where I can go to get a good idea on the sound of the equipment I am looking at. Nothing is as good as in person and hands on but I always listen to you because you get me the best preview of anybody. I purchased my drums and cymbals from you. Your prices are competitive but the video service ( and customer service} you provide to your customers is way better than all else. Not to mention, if you like BIG DRUMS, DCP has what ever you want on hand.
What a superb video, after borrowing my bro’s k fast crashes I’ve always longed for something thin, that opens up quick etc. off to save my pennies! I need these in my life!
This is one of the very BEST Reviews that y'all have ever done with cymbals! Well done Tom, absolutely well done! Zildjian.... Finally, finally, finally..... The Paper Thin Crash is for me, and if we can match a Ride and Hi-Hats, then I'm in! Thanks and Blessings Y'all, stay cool, man it's HOT out here!

Bright, shimmery goodness. ALL drool-worthy.
Ya know Paiste has been offering paper thin cymbals in the 602 Classic line for quite sometime now and they sound amazing
Such a helpful comparison! Turns out I like the dark crashes the most 😮
I’ve heard what the K sweet crashes sound like (and in this video) but the K paper thin crashes take the cake.
I was excited when I first began watching the video but, I've just gotta make the switch from Zildjian to Paiste. For the most part, almost all of my cymbals are Zildjian K's but Zildjian did something recently that made me want to switch my loyalties. Great vid and beautiful cymbals though.
This video is amazing!!!! I cannot state how much I LOVE the comparisons to the other lines of the K's. Can you make a video like this comparing the different Paiste Signature lines? 🤤

Another great video! I really liked the 18". The others were a bit too dark and low for me.
brilliant demo. Just what we want to hear! Excellent work
2:41 sounds like an E minor melody being played on the cymbals!! wonder if that was intentional on zildjian's part hahaha
Great , just great video exhibition. Thank you so much
Excellent! Loving the 18” in particular
u guys rock and this vid is awesome. i like the 18” and 21” here, although the dark thins are impressive.
Great to see you, Tom :)

I had a 17 inch Zildjian A Custom Paper Thin crash that I just loved. Bright attack, cut thru anything, but then was gone. It didn't linger. I regret ever letting that one go. Paper thin crashes are a great way to add dynamics to your cymbal sound. They seem to work especially well when used with your snare drum I think.
Great video, thank you! It might be just me, but this is the first time I’ve ever heard a collection of Zildjian crashes together with such apparent pitches. Normally the Sabians have been the brand where there’s a note to the crash/ effect, and Zildjians have been more atonal. This clip was an eye opener in that regard. Or should I say an ‘ear opener’ lol
Really enjoy the video. I prefer the Dark thin crash: more all around for my taste. The new stuff sounds good but dark thin for the win.
This was a great comparison video of some great sounding cymbals.

Yes!!!! zildjian finally made 21 and 22 inch crashes that are not crash of doom or special dry
Love the 20” Sweet ❤
PROPS to Zildjian and DCofP! SO glad they made these in larger sizes AND the K line!
The 19" and the 21" are right up my alley.
amazing, expecially the 21 and 22!
I have a couple of A and K customs but I'd love some regular K's they work well with anything really. I'd go for a 17" dark thin, 18" sweet, 19" paper thin and a 20" cluster👌🏽
The 19” and 21” are my favorites but they all sound excellent!
All are wonderful!!!! I'd love to add an 18 and 22 to what I already have!! All of them sound so nice!! I'd love to win the lottery then I'd get em all!!!
Good video. Thanks. ✌️❤️🥁
Fundamental tone I thought the Paper Thin crash would be higher than the Sweet. I have a 19” Sweet. Turns out (to my ears) in this vid the Sweet sounded higher. Makes me love my Sweet crash even more but they ALL sound amazing. Great demo. Well done.
Oh their so glassy, I love
These were long overdue, but are really underwhelming for me.
I like the 18 and the 20 the best
They sound really good - I prefer how they sound over the other two series you compared them to. Hearing them back to back is super useful too. Any durability concerns with crashes that thin?
Well, thought I was done buying cymbals for a while - see you guys soon!
I really like Zildjian cymbals, and that was what I played. But about 5 years ago I became a Paiste guy. If you check out Paiste signature crystal thin crashes, I think you'll see why I switched. Paiste just has the purest sound of bright, warm and full sound out of anything I have ever heard. Not just thin, but hit an 18" signature medium crash with bass drum and you'll hear pretty much the most perfect cymbals sound I've ever heard. Just try it or watch it and you'll see why I switched!
Thankfully a DCP post! I was starting to convulse waiting for a new video. I'm surprised it wasn't posted on the cymbal channel. But then again they should rename that the Istanbul Agop Cymbal channel.😂😂

We tend to put all the big "feature length" video on the main channel and the shorter more simple cymbal demos on the "Cymbal Vault" channel.
21 sounds nice
I like that, looks like Paiste Big Beat same sizes as well
I would like to hear/see a comparison between the “paper thins” and the “Avedis thins”. Just to hear the tonal differences between THINS. BTW, appreciate your video. Well done!
Good thing I’m looking for a 16” (to use as a HH) because these are expensive (and too nice to use as a HH anyway) but yeah these are sick
Holy Bass Drum! Pearl! Had to be 💯
These sound like K Cons but like high fidelity! I DIG these!
Love the K darks, but those paper thin crashes are a nice alternative with a brighter, quicker tone. If only I could find a 19/20K dark crash in the uk that wasn’t wayyyyy too thick. Seems like you guys in the US get the best cymbals and the rest get sent out to other countries. Got an older 19” k dark that I bought from the states years ago which is cracked and very flea bitten. Just can’t find a nice thin one in the UK. They’re all a lot heavier for some reason and sound harsh.
Thanks for this video - sounds like all three have a pretty similar decay. Are the k Thin Crash available in a matched box set?
OMG here goes some more money. Love the sound of all them.
I have a fast crash 16" Zildjian cymbal and it cracked like it was rotting , I don't longer trust the brand quality is not the same
GOT TO SAY REALLY DON'T BELIEVE ANY OF THOSE CYMBALS WERE HORRIBLE . LOVE THEM ALL WHICH AS YOU KNOW MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO CHOOSE TWO . THANSK FOR PREVIEW WILD BILL BOSTON 🎉❤
Perfect setup for that gig in e minor.
The 18 inch for all of them sound best IMO😊😊😊
This video reminded me how much I really like the dark K's .
I like the 18 it’s got more of a shimmer😊
18" k sweet + 19" k paper thin sound so pleasure to my ears.
I'm wanting the 19" and 21"!!!
the 20 sounds like it's gonna break if you hit it too hard. the 21 & 22 are absolutely gorgeous
Som sensacional.
I broke my old 17"dark crash but it still sounded good
Another great video by Shane's crew! I love acoustic drum's and B20 alloy cymbals. Boy the prices these days are crazy 😮
What about cracking them 18 & 20 sound the best
Para o meu gosto pessoal 18 e 19 são perfeitos 🔥🔥🔥
Darks are still the best sounded crashes ever
The Dark Thin sounds low compared to the Paper Thin. Of course, both cymbals have a mix of high and low frequencies, but in this video you can really hear the lows coming off the Dark Thin!
Perfect for worship! Finally!! just the $550 will be hard to chew on that 22”

19" Paper Thin would be my choice.
k series are already thin enought i thnk, but if you play soft for a music that does not requires full hitting, its great Im a big fan of thin cymbals like those HHX , but the sad part is that they are not so durable.
