And, while we are basically prepared for anything, and ready to respond with military force if necessary, we would much rather be friends and just live peaceful lives. We hate war, but we also realize that sometimes it's necessary, and that there might be times when we aren't given a choice in the matter. Most Americans just want to be your friend, not your enemy. It's apparently even something that foreign visitors to the country find surprising, that we Americans in general are just legitimately *that* friendly and nice. We're only dangerous to other countries if you do something to *make* us dangerous, like pissing us off or attacking us (look at how we reacted after 9/11, the terrorists expected 9/11 to scare us into submission, but all it did was unite us and piss us off enough to make us want their heads on a silver platter, and once you have us *that* pissed off, it's not a question of *if* we will find you....but rather of *when* we will find you). We're very much the proverbial "sleeping giant", and we're perfectly content to stay "sleeping" as long as you don't do anything vile enough to make us "wake up". There's a line that is supposedly associated with Japanese Admiral Yamamoto (though it's debatable as to whether he actually said this, it's still accurate) after Pearl Harbor: *"I fear that all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant, and fill him with a terrible resolve."* And another equally accurate line he is supposedly associated with would be this: *"Invading America would prove most difficult, as behind every blade of grass would be an American with a rifle."* Even in the incredibly unlikely event that an enemy force managed to get past our military and was able to set foot on American soil, they would just have to worry about our military at that point....they'd also have an "unofficial militia" numbering in the *millions* who would all too readily take up arms to defend their homeland, and unlike the military, they wouldn't have any idea where or when to expect to get hit by said "militia". The US by far has the most well-armed civilian population in the world, and for all of our political bickering, if we ever perceive a direct threat to our homeland, you can be damn sure those squabbles will be forgotten and we will become 100% focused on defending our homeland. In my eyes, the US having so much military power is, in and of itself, a world-wide deterrent to overt hostilities and warfare, as if the US ever chose to get involved or intervene, we could very likely shut down any nation that we wanted with near impunity. Our mere presence keeps potential enemies too scared to ever really engage in open conflict with us. And perhaps the most intimidating factor about all of this, is that these military factors are only what we are *allowed* to know by the government and military. It's a sure thing that the military has multiple other "tricks" up their sleeves that we (and our potential enemies) *don't* know about, and we *won't* know about them either unless we are ever forced to actually *use* them.

@Kara Natoli NOT TRUE at all. Do some research. The "operator" has to have eyes on the target. identify anyone in the area as a combatant or non-combatant. All weapons are identified, and distance from "friendlies" is calculated, then the "clear to fire" order is given by a commissioned officer - trained to identify targets. Has it happened? Yes, absolutely - this is war, not your sewing circle. It's a "fluid" atmosphere, people move and hide. To state that "drones kill mostly unarmed civilians " is ridiculous, and easily dismissed as coming from someone who has no idea what they're talking about. Period !

Mark 0:57. Howdy, Courtney! 🤠. When he says, "technological superiority", he is showing us one of the old Battleships, that now serve as floating museums. (A "Battleship", is not a synonym for, "Warship", as many civilians seem to think. Instead, it is a type of, warship, that specializes in ship-to-ship combat, or battles. Hence the moniker.) "JSF", is the role, not the name of, the "F-35 Lightning II". (It is named after the, "P-38 Lightning". In this example, "P" means "Pursuit", while "F" means "Fighter".) The, "F-117 Nighthawk", is a part of the old numbers that include the old Pursuit airplanes. It is also retired, having been replaced by the, "F-22 Raptor" and the "F-35 Lightning II". The B-1 Lancer, is left out of the video. It is our supersonic Bomber. (The "B" means "Bomber".) The, "B-2 Spirit"? Each one is named for a U. S. State! Though I think the first one may be, "Spirit of America"? I saw the news reports for when they named, "Spirit of Texas", and, "Spirit of Oklahoma". Drones! They humbly were used as training targets, before someone thought to use them for reconnaissance. Old airplanes, were modified to be piloted by radio remote control, so that SAM technicians could get some target practice in. Ditto for pilots and aviators, if I recall right. 🤔

Courtney, the B-2 looks otherworldly because its design differs so much from more conventional aircraft. The flying wing design minimizes radar cross section while generating a great deal of lift relative to its size. Because it lacks vertical and horizontal stabilizers, computer assisted flight controls allow pilots to fly an inherently unstable aircraft.

Mark 5:33. Chester Nimitz, was a highly regarded admiral, hence why there is a ship named after him. In the Time Travel movie based on a novel, "The Final Countdown", Charles Durning's character, a Senator, wants to know how he can be aboard a warship named after a living admiral that hasn't done anything worthy yet! The movie came out in, 1980, but was made in 1979, as evidenced by the dates stamped on many objects, such as rations. Gerald R. Ford, was a POTUS, that served as a naval aviator aboard an aircraft carrier, during World War 2, and unlike, Nixon, didn't screw-up! So he remained worthy of having an aircraft carrier named for him. 🧐

Mark 10:38. Aha! "Drone" versus "UAV". Since military minds are used to "drone" being synonymous with "target", as in, "Target Drones", they prefer to use, "UAV", to differentiate between them, and avoid confusion. It it is the civilian mindset, that now has access to toy drones, that causes the confusion. However, if more if them hear the term, "UAV", and know what it means, there should be less confusion eventually. 🤔

There are plenty of ICBM videos out there. I was stationed at Malmstrom AFB in Montana and worked on said missile systems. It’s more intimidating and cool then you think. The worst part of the job is having to go to the bottom of the launch tube, some 60 feet down, alongside and under the missile. Yes I have touched a nuclear weapon.

It’s like the blink of an eye and except for breaking the sound barrier you don’t even register that is what you have seen until it’s long gone. At least that’s what was told to me about the sound barrier. Just awesome.

@@alexmason2659 According to what I've read... MANY books, and many historical videos, their intent was to NEVER give us a reason to fight to the death... because they knew they couldn't win a long war against us. Their intent was always for us to get tired and just give them whatever they wanted in the Pacific... that our desire for peace, to be left alone, would outweigh any desire for war. If not for a snafu at their embassy in WDC, that might have happened... if the declaration of war had come before the bombing at Pearl Harbor.

I’m being hyperbolic here, but it’s kind of like when a couple high school kids have beef and get in a fight, then when it’s over they shake hands and become friendly out of respect, even friendship perhaps.

I'm currently stationed at a base with ICBMs. I was able to actually experience working in the launch tube next to one a few years back! You are right about it looking like a shuttle, the lower part is very similar tech wise, if not the same. The three bases with ICBMs (Minot, Malmstrom, and FE Warren) are dedicated bases just for ICBMs. The jobs of most airmen stationed at these bases usually revolve around Maintaining ICBMs and Security/// though there are obviously mission support (example: Civil Engineering), force support (Chefs), and medical jobs since the base can't run smoothly without them.

Mark 6:54. Oh yeah! Until I saw the most recent episode of, "9-1-1", on "FOX", I hadn't really given much thought to which missile bases have been closed forever. But in that episode, a mother and her two daughters were exploring a park, when the mother fell down into a silo, because the cap placed on it had rotted! It doesn't help that old movies and television series, still have scenes in them, from when such places were still operational. (For example, Lassie, she rescues a mother bird and her nestlings, from a missile test launch.). Also, budget savers using stock footage of obsolete objects, as if they were still new, doesn't help matters! That just adds to the collective confusion within society's subconscious mind 🧐

Stealth Aircraft are not Silent. They are designed to thwart Radar and Infrared Signature. I was stationed with the 416th FS, Nightstalkers, equipped with the F117. The "F" is designator for Fighter which technically was true, it had to have Air to Air capabilities to keep it off the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty. To my knowledge it never flew Configured that way in Operation.
