Epic trip to the far North with Captin Kane Spiers, we catch a few fish, Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Mako shark, Jack Mackerel, have a bloody good time, meet some good folks and eat some good food. Marlin fishing in New Zealand. Cheers Kane and Jack for the invite, Jamie for the arm wrestle and the entertainment in the pub ( gave him a jolly good thrashing ) and everyone else that helped out along the way

As a young fella, I spent a lot of time fishing in and around Whangaroa harbour with my grandfarther. I haven't been there for 30 years. Wonderful to see it again. Thanks Josh :) bought back some fond memories.

@@lastpaceended5866 Ha ha, it was BRAND NEW - we were using nylon mono in those days and it emptied all 1km of 80lb/37kg test then I wound the whole fucking lot back on under serious tension creating a many tonne crushing force that extruded/stretched the spool core by pressing outward on the ends of the spool with immense force. ;-) Not uncommon in big fights with big blacks like that one was (~600kg). Using some kind of modern stretch-less braid would have been no problem.
