I don’t know why but this is satisfying
New York 0:16-2:41 New Jersey 2:41-20:12 Delaware 20:12-22:39 Maryland 22:39-37:36 Virginia 37:36-39:17
That is a very nice video. I also enjoyed watching the customary traffic jam on I-95 south in Harford County, MD.

Thanks. Yes, that sure seems to be a regular occurrence.
I've done this exact trip several times. Interesting seeing your route though.

The tunnels and the bridges switched to one way collecting of tolls on midnight Aug.19,1969.I paid half a buck going into Manhattan earlier that night and stayed past midnight so I beat the toll coming back.

Half a buck? Those were the days. I remember the Tappan Zee Bridge being $1.50 in the late 80s and thinking that was expensive, lol.

It takes like $50 just to go from NJ to Queens. Could be more depending if you go through States Island or not
In 37:37 I saw Virginia sighn behind the trees
I take this route
Next time you come up to Toll Central, PLEASE avoid the combined cash/EZPass tollbooths. While it's not the end of the world if you enter one of these tollbooths, it is a lot faster to take an EZPass only booth.

I might add that the best EZPass to have is the one issued by the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority. After moving to PA I kept my TBTA EZPass because PA was charging a fee and TBTA does not. Also, TBTA EZPass seems to be the best to receive commuter discounts across all EZPass authorities.

I have EZPass through Virginia DOT, and it's free as well.

Yes, VADOT is free. But I get a discount on NY tolls that I don't believe is given for non-NY EZPass tags. Since I live in PA, I checked and PA discounts all EZPass no matter where it comes from but I believe that NY only discounts tolls from NY EZPass tags. I am not 100% sure about that because I have never used any EZPass transponders other than NY as that's where I lived when EZPass was invented.

That would be a nice trip to do one day. I have business in the El Paso area, and I thought about doing a drive from there the next time I go out there. This virus though is putting any travel plans on hold for now.
I-95 JFK Highway in Maryland used to be a breeze from Delaware line to White Marsh in suburban Baltimore in the 1980s. It is now jammed with traffic and still only 6 lanes. Over 30 years ago Delaware was planning a dual 3-3-3-3 configuration for I-95 just like NJ Tpke did north of Exit #6. Should have done it and Maryland should have done the same from Delaware line to Baltimore. I see that it is terrible now the way it is with all the traffic. Do they not still charge tolls?
@unclecoolie

Maryland and Virginia both have overcrowded highways. Yes, they still charge tolls - at least when you first enter Maryland from Delaware - and it's something like $4.00.
I am surprised you did not get any speeding tickets~ LOL

Thank you very much! I actually have two separate trips in Washington State right now. I'm still editing the video for the first trip, and I hope to get that uploaded in about a week. It will be 4x time-lapse, and I plan to upload real-time video and 16x time-lapse versions of that trip as well after I upload the 4x version. THEN, I will work on the next trips, so I plan to upload a ton of new videos this summer and into the fall.

@@GS_Cloud26 That's true. I like to try to mix up the route somewhat when I do return trips. I didn't realize until recently, though, that I-95 goes through Philadelphia. For years, you had to take the Garden State Parkway, like I did in this video, to get to I-95 in Delaware and further south.
I thought a road trip like this would take hours
