Didn’t mention that on Long Island as of 2024 you must installed a smart meter, otherwise PSEG will not allow you to “bank” excess solar KWH credits.
I’m in the Bronx, you forgot to mention the NYS Home Tax Abatement for (4) years!

Is there a long-term net metering contract to prevent it from being eliminated since it is a major part of the return on investment? Or should payback be based on total off-grid capability?
43 cents kWh in the United States Virgin Islands the public service commission is meeting on Thursday to increase that. Water just got an increase so electricity have to follow. Glad I went solar
Sounds like a great opportunity
Does it cost more money to buy the power if so then this cost is put onto the customer it can be made cheaper and not look like crap
If you don’t have panels you pay more because the power company can make it cheaper than than buy solar panel rates

Title should be Books for Idiots.. NYS is not a sunshine State. May be 3 months , Solar panels become useful. Return values equalize in 40 years. 😂

Not true. Solar panels generate whenever the sun is shining. Yes winter sun is not as strong as summer sun, but they still generate as well as on cloudy or party cloudy days. Solar company company is only allowed to install enough panels to make 110% of previous 12 month historical use.
