New York police raid Columbia campus and arrest protesters | BBC News
New York City police have entered the Columbia University en masse and are arresting students.
The NYPD told the BBC officers have entered Hamilton Hall, an academic building recently occupied by pro-Palestinian protesters.
The activists had taken over the Hamilton Hall building nearly 24 hours earlier amid two weeks of campus protests over the Israel-Gaza war.
The police were authorised to go in by university authorities, after student demonstrators defied a deadline to disperse.

The same way we remember the student protests in the 1960s and the draft. I have always viewed it as privileged kids not really doing anything but over valuing their opinion. But when Vietnam veterans, wounded vets from combat MOSs, that’s different. That being said, I am college educated and think Israel has gone to far and killed to many innocents. Hopefully some policy does change. Not only because of the excessive collateral damage, but also Israel balking its allies that support them so much.

Very sorry to burst your bubble, but 75%-to-85% of the USA supports Israel. I say this as someone who has voted for the left in in the last six elections. Instead of opposition, a significant group (about 20%) of the populace actually want the USA to take brutal actions against the Arabs. In just the first three weeks there have been 774 documented cases of Islamophobic incidents & have risen to 1,283 as of Nov 7 2023. At least 100 major US companies have already blacklisted any students who support Palestine from any jobs with their firms & another 1,000 aren't saying anything, but those students aren't getting any job offers either.

And all those children , women , girls , boys , young men , slaughtered as they took the hostages nobody thinks of them and why irail had to defend its self and get the hostages back for what fate was comming to them . when they knew hamus were evil terroists hideing in tunnels like rats , even then israil would stop if they gave them all back , but they dont want to stop , they want to turn everyone against israil even put the women and children near them so when they get killed they can say look what they did , so they can wipe israeil off the face of the earth ........all the food that gets to gaza they throw away because its not needed a finger up to the people that help them ..........

At the same time, AstraZeneca insists the available data shows the drug has “an acceptable safety profile,” and that “regulators around the world consistently state that the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks of extremely rare potential side effects.” Dozens of Western countries suspended the use of AstraZeneca’s vaccine in the spring of 2021 over fears it may have caused some patients to develop blood clots. At the time, the head of the European Medicines Agency’s (EMA) vaccines strategy, Marco Cavaleri, said that there was an evident link between AZ vaccine intake and blood clots in the brain, but maintained that the benefits still outweighed the risks. According to World Health Organization data, the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine has an efficacy of 72%. As of April 2021, over 17 million people had received the jab in the EU and the UK, with just under 40 cases of thrombosis, according to the company.
