Becket Cook was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended Jesuit College Preparatory
School of Dallas. After graduating from Austin College in Texas, Becket moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of writing and acting, finding success in both. He eventually went on to become a production designer working with the top photographers and directors in the world on fashion shoots for magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and for ad campaigns such as Gap, L'Oréal Paris, and Nike.
Finding a new sense of freedom in L.A., Becket also fully engaged in his new life as a gay man. He had a series of many relationships with men throughout the next fifteen years.
In September of 2009, Becket met a stranger at a coffee shop in Silver Lake who invited him to his church in Hollywood called Reality L.A. Becket reluctantly agreed to attend the service. After hearing the sermon that Sunday, Becket was utterly transformed by the gospel and gave his life to Christ. He also knew on that day when God revealed Himself to him that homosexuality was a sin and that he could no longer live that life. Becket was more than happy to count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus his Lord.
Becket spends much of his time in ministry speaking at churches, universities, and conferences helping believers (and non-believers) understand this issue biblically, theologically, culturally, and personally. Balancing grace and truth when teaching on this subject is of primary importance. His goal is to challenge the current cultural narrative about sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular by demonstrating through his personal testimony and biblical truths that, yes, homosexuality is still a sin, and that following Christ is infinitely more satisfying and joyous.
He has lived all over the world in major cities such as Rome, Vienna, and Tokyo.
Becket graduated from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University in 2017 with a Master of Arts in Theology.

Chapter 2 of Titus is one body of thought and vv.11-14 contain the engine to what Paul says there about the virtues he calls all believers to. One of the things we learn in Titus 2 is that the power of God's grace transforming us and purifying us in our lives is the proof of the truth of Christ. These testimonies of God's saving grace are the proof that Christ has risen - he saves his chosen sheep!

The light in his face is still so fresh, as if he just gave his life to Christ recently. I'm so happy his mom became a Christian and so thankful she got to witness God's transformation in the lives of her boys. Amazing testimony and what a huge smile it brought to my face this morning. I just absolutely love hearing real-life stories like this. That this man does so with gratitude when others would see themselves as a victim is admirable. And I can't believe how happy he is considering his story! I got a bit choked up hearing about he and his wife forgiving each other & starting over as new creatures in Christ. This man is a fine example of how God can transform us if we let him & I am eager to find his book to read.

Hi Becket. Could you perhaps make a video touching on life after choosing Christ. How you navigate life and find meaning within the newly chosen path. A large portion of life is centered around marriage or the "significant other". One of my personal obstacles was been fearful of the future since I have chosen not to engage in any homosexual relationships.

"Do not worry about tomorrow.." Jesus said. Hope that is an encouragement. Taking things one day at a time. Celebrate Recovery might help, see if they have local meetings in your area. I went to one last night and anyone was free to mention or not mention whatever they were struggling with, in their walk with Christ. .it was very comforting.

Praise God for His amazing grace! That scripture came to my mind: But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). HE loves us even while we are yet in our sins, rebelling against Him and living for our own. But what a change He brings, when we meet Christ! Thanks for your ministry, its such an encouragement!

Isn't it interesting that he would destroy the lives of others and their families, but not bring any of it into his own. Shows you how warping and corrupting the sin of greed and covetousness is. Very eye opening interview. Thanks!
Oh my. What a joy to have heard Herman Mendoza’s testimony. Only God can pick us out of the muck and bring light and life and beauty and joy and love and reconciliation and eternal life. To Him be the glory. Loved every second. And I love Herman’s complete surrender and obedience to our God.

It took 25 years for one of my sons to come to Christ from living a life of drugs and rebellion. Only Jesus Christ can change a life. What a wonderful testimony of the grace of God to this man. Keep praying for your loved ones who need Jesus. It is not His will that any should perish, but thst all should come to repentance and faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary.

When Herman explained what happened between he and his wife, I felt confirmation!
This testimony is so moving and encouraging. Right now, at this very moment I am sitting in a coffee shop to meet with my husband and our daughter. She has something to tell us and we are not quite sure what it means, she’s 22 years old and has walked away from God. We believe she’s living alternative lifestyle. My daughter is very aware of what the Bible has to say about sin, where we stand in the Lord and the consequences of walking away from the Lord. This testimony is encouraging for me in hopes that God would draw her back to Him.

Great content. Accepting Christ is a simple action guided by the grace of God. In Herman's case under dire circumstances. He faced the honest truth about himself- and is now serving out a life sentence as a servant of the Most High King.
