When I was on holiday in New York City last month, the 1 Line has been the most common line I've been on and it's still popular today. I took it from Times Square 42nd Street to Franklin Street to see the Hook & Ladder 8 Company Building used for the Ghostbusters films. The R62A is still a great classic Subway Train and still running today despite being 37 years old.

My aunt used to take the 1, to her dental classes. Whenever I was allowed to go with, she would always let me see the front. And sometimes, we would go down to the old SF station, just to go around the loop since I was fascinated by the movable platform, and how the cars would tap it when leaving. (I forget the correct name) I've never seen the layout of how the 1 approaches the newer station. I remember the wall there at the switches to the old station... Epic video as always!

I thought that this was going to be a more boring local route like the L or the G, but I was wrong. T There are some amazing spots... 4:08 Lift Bridge over the Harlem River. 8:40 Gorgeous Portal edged with stones; A double track portal ! 9:04 I Wonderful double track tunnel bored out of stone. 11:03 Awesome tunneled station with walkways visible over the tracks. 21:05 Triple tracked bored/blasted tunnel ! 25:01 Express tracks come up from lower level. Look at the horizontal bracing/trusses to support the very tall vertical beams that span almost 2 levels high. 36:08 The original IRT routing to 42nd St showing up between the beams. 36:12 50:00 The Express tracks drop out of site, going towards Brooklyn, not to be seen again. 52:49 The original South Ferry loop tracks split off to the left. The northbound loop track is lower, as it had to pass under the South Ferry loop tracks for the Lexington Ave IRT. The rightmost two tracks are the new South Ferry straighter station tracks. I've never ridden these ones before. Aarre Peltomaa
