This is great idea Jen because most wardrobe purges attempt to make you choose the most useful items, which can be too abstract and we end up picking generic items, whereas your plan means that we will be picking items we KNOW are useful and that we love.

Great idea and not overwhelming 👌🏻 I have an addition: 7 vacation outfits. It could be helpful, if you have already planned some travel to the beach in summer or drive every Christmas to the family 😊

This video was such a unique take on closet curation! I’ve done my fair share of decluttering, but I still often find that I “have nothing to wear” or feel like the outfits I put on are just “okay.” This will help me reassess my wardrobe in a really productive way in 2024! Happy New Year 🎉

I like the 7 outfit strategy, especially the part that it's okay if one top will only make one outfit. I was able to make a couple of new outfits because I bought a couple of new shirts this year. I had two pairs of pants I wasn't wearing until I bought the shirts. The one pair of pants had a glen plaid print. The other pair of pants had some other preppy looking print. I've gotten compliments on my outfits by my super stylish daughter when I'm wearing these pants with prints lol. I felt bored by my wardrobe is why I bought those pants with prints last year and was glad I was finally able to wear them because of the new shirts.

I really like this approach, thank you. I tend to adjust my capsule each month because our weather is changeable (Isle of Wight, England), my activities range from muddy dog walks to church choir, and I really love my True Summer palette and wear a lot of the colours. I definitely don’t dispose of items each month! I like bringing them back as the weather shifts.

As always, you bring a new and down-to-earth approach to a closet purge. In my experience, there is not a single, fit-everyone way to declutter your wardrobe, so I take this videos as an inspiration to come up with what works for me. Thinking in outfits instead of individual clothes is a really good idea and I'm keeping it for future purges. I did one not three months ago, after I recovered my shape after pregnancy, and this approach would have come in handy then. The different occasions step was also a very practical one. I think I must declutter my storage boxes too!

Brilliant! I already started laying out my top outfits. Really eye opening - my top outfits mostly also work for lazy days 😂 I’m afraid my extra 7 pieces aren’t as versatile as I hoped for either. Also looks like I can pack away half my closet, and this is going to make it so much easier to get dressed.

I regularly have a clear out but there are many clothes I still have that I don't wear but I just can't bring myself to get rid of them . Some of them are new purchases 🫣 you make mistakes on the way through finding your style, best lines and colours and there are some things I know I want to keep but they're too big and I need to send them for adjustments , my closet is ready to burst 😬

I use the Open Wardrobe app to help me keep track of my closet and what I wear. I keep things that I need to alter or dye in a different digital wardrobe than my main one. Same with items I'm not using anymore. However, because they are in the app, I can pack away stuff to get out of the way and still know what I have. It's super nifty!
