When I first started wearing wigs I was trying to look “natural” which for me was thin fine hair. And all the wigs felt too dense for me. Then, I realized I can have any hair I wanted! All the hair I coveted over the years was thick dense luscious hair… So I went out and bought me some! Now people wish they had a thick mane of hair like mine! 1) Unexpectedly helpful comparison! I hadnt seen Iced Latte Macchiato next to Shaded Sand before. Each gave the other context i needed in relation to the other. 2. Detangling/adding a little wave to regular synthetic...the plastic barrel Hot Tools dryer brush on low while the hair fibers are damp is working the best for me at the moment on my HM Kendall.

I like the iced latte macchiato because it is very realistic. I’m not one who wants anything that screams “wig”. e.t.a. The Play It Straight style has really come back into fashion

The Play It Straight reminds me of a style from Ally McBeal back in the 90s. I see Courtney Thorne-Smith. You look super cute in it.

100% on Courtney Thorne Smith!! At one point you pushed all those lower flips toward your face and immediately a dozen mid- late 90s-early 00s magazine covers and head shots came to mind. I think there's a version of that look thar still works now and making it less flippy on the bottom could do it. Try turning the flips under with a plastic barrel brush and see what happens. Or maybe get someone to cut a slight stack or razor off a little length. Interested to see where you end up w/ her bc she still looks adorable on you and the color is perfect.

What’s so funny is that you’ve totally sold me on the “mullet wig!” It’s a good style for me. It actually looks good on you but because you’re able to wear both short styles and long I don’t know that this mid length is very thrilling for you. It is extremely pretty when you turn the ends under, something which just makes my face look longer. I think, yes, steam it or train it by simply spritzing it and leaving rollers in it when you’re not wearing it.

Steph you look stunning in all the wigs! The one you're unsure about is beautiful, the colour is stunning; the style is lovely but if you're not feeling it, it probably isn't you in style. I had kicks and flicks in the eighties and wouldn't wear them now but as you didn't wear them first time around, you can get away with it now! I appreciate your videos because like you I have a petite head and it can prove challenging xx

Take a curling iron to Play It Straight and feather the top and sides AWAY from the face, rather than the "hugging the face" cut it comes out of the box with. Makes all the difference.

I understand exactly what you’re saying. I made a discovery that the wigs that I took to the cabin last summer looked way more realistic,essentially if they are longer than 12 inches. I took 3 of them and they are all HD fiber. I did not wash them and only used minimal heat to keep them from frizzing. I also use a barrel style blow dryer so all I needed to do was gently brush it through . Many of my friends asked if I had splurged on real hair !

I think the mesmerised looks the most natural on you. You can wear pretty much any color.

All my hair has grown back out now, so if you know anyone that wants to purchase these at an affordable price with the tags still on... let me know because living in the Texas heat 110+ doesn't work for me. OMGoodness. I find it SO interesting what people think of themselves in wigs and what others think of them! I do some lame reviews on my channel and the opinions are always extremely interesting! When I don't like one and other people love it, it amazes me!😂 For instance, I agree that the one you don't like and think is the most natural-looking dirty blond color looks very unnatural in color! And the Tinker Bell was the worst looking for me on you, BY FAR. The BEST on you (for me) was the one you liked the very least! (PLAY IT STRAIGHT). That one was the one that DIDN'T look like a wig and was the CUTEST on you in my professional opinion! 😅👍 Color AND style! It is just so interesting! Thanks for the reviews! P.S. @@WigsWithSteph Cool colors are ashy colors. There's Cool, Neutral and Warm colors. Sounds like to me, u tend to like more neutral colors. Neutrals are violet based, cool colors are green based and warm colors are red based. Eye color plays a part in what colors look best on a person. I have warm dark green n gold flecked eyes: so the golden colors compliment my gold/warm eyes. Blue eyes are cool toned. So ppl with cool eyes can pull off cool colors pretty well. Cool/ashy colors look horrible on me. 🤗

@@WigsWithSteph you look like you have blue eyes. Cool colored eyes, so neutral and cool colors look decent on u. They don't on me at all. Warm, butterscotchy colors look best on me. I have warmth/gold in my eyes. We are all different/unique. Thank God for wigs. 😉😁🤗

I love “play it straight”. It definitely feels very Rachel from friends. It feels dated because it is old school. I feel like gen x would probably love it more than the younger gens. That said, I definitely prefer HD fibers.

Could you do a review on stoke of genius by raquel welch? I've been considering but unsure

I have 2 raquel welch wigs and 1 belle tress, i feel like my RW wig fibers are getting coarse more quickly than the belle tress. Do you have any thoughts on the RW fibers compared to other brands? I follow your videos on how to 'revive' the fibers but I have to do it pretty frequently (once a week or every other week), and I feel like they're still very fast to tangle and feel kind of coarse even after I've done the whole thing.

You could always have your stylist cut Play it Straight to your liking. Maybe a pixie or something shaggy like Jones?

Cut the back is it heat frendly?

Play it straight reminds me of RW untold story. I really wanted to love it but hated those flipping ends. It made me crazy. It just didn’t look good on the style or on me i guess so I straightened the wig out completely . So now it’s a straight bob and I love it

Can anyone recommend some curly hair wigs? Like they look like naturally textured, curly hair?

Every one of the wigs you've shown look wonderful on you. The one shorter blonde Play it Straight just seems to remind me of the Rachel. So its sort of dated. But who knows, styles come back, right?

That wig does look vaguely mullet like but not too mullety. I’ve been noticing the mullet making a come back among the younger people here in the U.S. and I’m not sure how I feel about it.

My mesmerized wig is extremely poofy and looks crazy when I wear it and I’ve tried everything to get it to lay flat! I’ve tried using heat, water, etc. but it’s still soo poofy! How did you get it to lay flat?

Great question! There’s a couple of different things I’ve done with it (I’ve had it for a long time now) I wore it out in the sun and pat it down with my hands. Another way is to take simply Stylin’ spray and spray it on your wig, and then take the straightener to the top. Another way is to wear a toque (a hat), and the heat from your head should lie it flatter. Play it straight is not a good style, period. The front looks good, but the back is wanting. The color is gorgeous.

I think when spending this much money on a wig, it should be right from the get go. The left side in back looks longer to me. I’d find this color in a different style and return this one. You aren’t going to wear a wig that needs so much work.

No to ice macheoto. You're talking yourself out of the last blonde wig.

I just put th3 away and buy a new one and then throw them out because I’m an embarrassed how many I’ve purchased and don’t wear .

Play it Straight looked really good when you swept all that long bang straight back. Definitely get rid of the flipped out effect. That's hideous. And very dated.

Try Velcro rollers to turn play it straight under! Then steam, let dry overnight take rollers out the next morning and brush under. I would use about 1-1/2” Velcro rollers. Hope that helps. 😊

I’m just starting my Social Media journey with wigs. You give a lot of great info. I’m a 39 year licensed cosmetologist! I have been in wigs for about 10 years and own my own wig boutique. When you are styling your regular synthetics with your big heat roller brush….Try misting it just a smidge/slightly with a little water. Then you have your combination of moist and dry heat. It’s your work really good on your regular synthetics!! But I’m watching you because you do a very good job 🩵
