    all these people saying "hes to slow, too short, he can never be the next xu xin." are such low lifes. he wont be a 'xu xin' he will be himself. short players can make up for their lack of reach by being lighter and fast behind the table. and as long as you are very explosive a big forehand is no problem. plus you have a quckier recovery time.

    As long as a player could not understand the concept of penhold grip he would not be able to achieve success in this grip!on the other hand this grip is a little hard to learn! so most players prefer to use shake hand grip for that is easy to learn!But any how that is really great to see there is a European kid who loves to use this fantastic grip!fortunately recently there are lots of good training videos from good Chinese coaches for penhold grip and all its unique techniques on KZread!But for Penhold grip lovers nothing is better than just watching Wang Hao or XuXin matches repeatedly!

    Looks like he won't grow as tall as Xu Xin, so he will have a hard time reaching balls far from the table. I think his style will evolve towards faster and closer to the table with vast usage of RPB, more like Wang Hao. A very talented guy with flexy wrist and naturally excellent ball feeling.

  • @lone-wolf-1
    @lone-wolf-13 жыл бұрын

    As a teen I tried both styles- handshake first, then pen grip. In both styles you have unique possibilities, but otherwise the rest is very similar. Was bit uncomfortable with the pen grip, perhaps because of the normal handle I had, the balance and the bit higher weight of the racket. Maybe my wrist strength was also not enough trained for pen grip... With a proper paddle, in weight and design, it should be just a matter of preference in feel, beside lots of training...

    Finger ache is normal if you play penhold for longer periods. But if it is abnormally painful, you are probably gripping too hard. Try to relax your grip a bit, and manipulate the racket with your wrist more (it shouldn't be always locked).

    man I know it's always a virtue to encourage and arouse confidence for others, yet I wanna say that you shall know Liu Guoliang, Ma Lin got into Chinese National Team at 16, Wang Hao at 17; when Wang Hao faced Ryu Seung-Min at 2004 Oliympic Finals they are just 21 and 22 respectively; Xu Xin got platinum world tour champion at 20. Penholders usually rise to fame at very young age compared with shakehand, 14 is not such a young age for penholders, if you want a professional career

    4:47 i guess with the banning of the speed glue, JPenholder style has been eliminated. it just cannot compete with the adaptability of RPB with the traditional CPenholder style, thus making JPenholder style the weaker one. after Ryu SM i don't know any other world class players who still use the JPenhold rackets. just my opinion

    You said that the french Pro A and German pro A are the most high level leagues in Europe but it's not so, because the last two years Champions league winners was russian teams and the fist player of French pro A winning team is the fourth player only in russian national team.
