New WPL C64-1 Review and Trail Run

The awesome new WPL C64-1 is here. The RTR spec of this model sets it apart from the others! Check out that stock flex! Ready to run it includes a metal chassis, metal rear hex, metal dog bones in front axle, the radio is of course fully proportional AND includes a switchable drag brake as standard! Easy upgrade to a more powerful 370 motor using own brand parts is possible without changing the electronics and the WPL metal upgrade axles will make it even more capable.

Yeah they are, but with the RTR V1 tyres on this model.

This one was a pre-release version, the same as you may have seen mentioned by other reviewers. Yes it did suffered the premature thermal cut out - however when it was running the original board I made a simple solder bridge modification to one of the resistors which cured the problem entirely. Customer versions from the official store have an updated board, so this is not an issue for rigs bought from the store after the official release. Mine has now been swapped for a B36-3 board to operate the winch.

Cool, if it does, which is unlikely, you'll need to bridge the contacts of either the R3 or R11 resistor. I did this by laying a leg I cut off of a spare LED next to the resistor (R3 in my case) then soldering across from the original surface mount resistor tabs.

C14/24 is still available and it looks like the body will swap across onto this much better chassis fairly easily.

@@smallscaleadventures Yea those are great I mean the C64 with the IRS suspension on the front it is more realistic
