The HBX pro 16889 will be the best option I think Rick but again down to personal choice. its already done just need to do the video on the brushless conversion. coming soon!

Mine came with 2 3000 millamp battries and and 1500 milliamp battery and a pack of Duracell battries for 90 bucks...love this truck..you should have adjusted all the front tow and camber and greased the diffs before playing with it...after you play with it a few times it breaks in and gets faster...

Great honest review Ricky , I quite like it maybe it should be priced a bit cheaper around 70quid and if they stopped making silly claims of top speeds then we couldn't complain.

Cheers Brad and i couldn't agree more. £65-75 i can see it being very competitive. At £95 odd it will have a difficult time competing with the big hitters such as the 144001 as they offer the same for the money if not more being quicker etc. Silly top speed claims really isn't helping them at the moment. Printing 40kph on the box would have been a little more acceptable. Cheers

I do think there’s a customer base for this, however as you said it’s too expensive for what you get tbh! And recently I’ve noticed wltoys are starting to get greedy imo . The new brushless line up are too expensive especially with all the cogging issues! None of us want to buy into products that don’t work properly… As always good honest review 👍 well done Ricky thanks 🙏

Thanks for an honest review, I also find it a little pricey. WLToys made a success with cheap good cars, now they try to earn a lot by marking the same cars but for a much higher price

The metal knuckles mean less upgrades, I’ve just ordered one and will put a 4300kv in it from new and check the speed on 3s. Good vid mate

So much more info I'd like to see! How does the weight compare between this and the 144001? What about wheel diameter? What about acceleration? Does this one accelerate faster to compensate for the lower top speed? How is the parts availability? How easily can one be converted into the other? I'm new to the hobby, and I feel like all rc channels follow a script (unboxing, speed run, bashing footage, final thoughts) when really there is lots more that nobody is covering.

Great video as usual.... I'm telling you, your cinematography is awesome.... I'm curious to see you taking it Brustless ..using your 3100kv from ur 144 build.. be a great comparo...I'm also very curious to see if the stock gearing is the same as the 144001.. It's strongly doubt it because it's 10 miles an hour slower out the Box which makes me think the pinion is smaller to give it more torque That being said maybe that pinion is a point 7 mod and it's compatible with A144001

Thanks Anthony glad you like the editing and videography! Still learning and picking things up along the way! I have now completed the brushless conversion and that video will be coming soon but i can confirm it is running the same gearing as the 144001. Not sure why it was so much slower!

I think I'll wait for 1/12 scale.

Reckon they didn't take the bigger heavy wider wheels into account when just putting the 001 box speed on the 002.

great vid Ricky. Wltoys need to seriously assess what they are doing currently, their riding the wave of the 144001 popularity but that wave has long since gone. As others said, if you already have a 144001 you wont buy this in my opinion...plaus the 144001 has been a fair bit cheaper on deals.

100% 144001 is king it’s just so much more car for the money plus think of all the spares or upgrades you could do to it with the extra £30 to me it’s a no brainier

Kind of a dumb question, especially given I have an upgraded 144001, but does the 144001 have ball bearing through out? It;s never been advertised and never talked about. Or does it have some bearings and some bushings? I'm actually cleaning my 144001 as I watch this video!

yes it does have ball bearings throughout so does this new 144002 which I think I forgot to mention!!

Interesting how Wltoys have now gone with conservative speed claims, the 144001 can't do 60kph/37mph out of the box, after you adjust the toe and camber, you can get about 33-35mph. Also interesting battery, very thin, but it looks as long as a 2800mah pack. Edit: The metal knuckles, caster blocks, and hub carriers are very nice, they are a giveaway part on almost all RCs. I wonder why the 144002 is about 10mph slower than the 144001. Maybe the battery, or the wheels are pretty heavy?

I think the lack of speed may be due to the extra weight. its the same gearing as 144001 but slower :/

Did they changed the gearing to make it so slow ?

Haven't looked yet but if it's like the 144001 it will be a fixed motormount with no adjustment options meaning fitting a bigger pinion won't work.

Its expensive because it isnt out for very long i think

I keep seeing these on eBay and they keep saying that they're upgraded they're not upgraded it's a completely different vehicle well at least the body lol

I feel like if we don't start holding the big brand names accountable for on the box claims that are not possible with what comes in the box that is just weeeing in the wind holding much smaller companies to account is useless

Surprised it was so slow. If it's identical to the 144001 chassis and electrics. as that goes 30mph out of the box on the small blue lipos. And 32mph on my zop power 2s lipos. In theory with the bigger wheels it should be faster.

I'm yet to check out the gearing but I'm guessing it might be geared lower. Will be converting to brushless so we will find out soon 👍

My WLtoys k929 was as fast as this may it rest in pieces... Mind you it wasn't Hard and Big Legged like this one! Wish they'd be closer with the speed claims.. WLtoys1444001 for the win, cheaper and faster.

Surely if these car are stated as doing a certain speed and they don't then that's illegal?? That's like selling a house saying it has 4 bedrooms and it actually only has 3.🤔

Really, Why people talk about converting these little monsters to brushless without understanding the negative consequences of brushless motor? Brushless are useless, they don't have low end torque and have stuttering problem. I will better be stronger with brushed.,💪

Wltoys must be allergic to grease. 😷

Throw it out there and they will buy as they are fans of the brand. Things need to improve or its over for a potentially very good upcoming company. They missed a great opportunity with the latest brushless models which are plagued with cogging issues. Terrible
