New Volvo V60 Cross Country Review // Putting the Sport in SUV

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Volvo V60 Cross Country is the new station wagon from Volvo that has a bit more attitude and ground clearance than the base V60. The ride height has been increased by 2.6-inches or 66mm, to provide better snow or light off-roading capabilities. A big part of the appeal is the more rugged design thanks to extra lower body cladding and unique front and rear bumpers. The only engine is the T5 turbo 4-cylinder with 250hp, the T6 is not offered with the Volvo V60 Cross Country, however standard AWD is included, where it is optional with the base V60. The interior is the same and can be equipped with a cloth or leather interior. The dash can also be ordered with a digital instrument cluster. The Volvo V60 Cross Country is not the performance car in this class but is a great all around combination of good driving feel, luxury and comfort.

I would love to see this market grow. I’m glad to see that Volvo has not given up on the beloved station wagons ...with the exception of its larger Flagship, the V90. I wish that they would continue that model, if even at a loss. Thanks for the video,... impressive video angles.

You hit the nail on the head regarding the TRUE practicality of a wagon vs. a CUV (SUV). But then again, I have a 2018 Alltrack. Although, if I had to do it over again, I would highly consider this Volvo.

@@Arcticarc1 I agree about how bad Volvo's Sensus infotainment system is... But Volvo is installing a new Google OS for MY 2020, so I'm going to check back on the V60 Cross Country for MY 2020 or 2021; I won't buy it before then because of the horrible Sensus they have in all the Volvos now. Sensus just kills these cars, in my opinion -- along with doing away with buttons/knobs for easy climate control and audio control that isn't dangerously distracting to the driver.

I have a 2020 V60 Cross Country, and I can tell I can tell you that the Sensus infotainment system is super easy. A lot of stuff you don’t even have to scroll through the system. You can just ask the car or ask your phone. Very intuitive it won’t even take you an hour to figure everything out and then as you drive, the system becomes an easy second nature. I love how it has slightly raised height but drives like a luxury sports car. I just traded in my Audi A5 convertible for this baby, and I’m not looking back!!

Nice score getting your hands on one of these outside the press event! Your video answers one question- that the Blond upholstery option in the CC is just the seats and door inserts, unlike in the standard V60. If you still have access to the vehicle, can you tell us if they're adding extra skid plating (aluminum) underneath to this model?

I can't help but feel that this car is too expensive for what it is. I understand that options are limited in the NA market for wagons, but I can't equate Volvo to being on the same level as Mercedes and BMW, and still behind Audi too. This thing is going to be well over $50K if you add anything to it, and that' just not worth it.
