Ethan, first time commenting on a KZread video and I feel like the community is getting more toxic. Sure there are plays that are unnecessary, but commenting is way easier than playing! You're also the rare ones that upload on a very consistent basis with a lot of action heavy hands. Love your content regardless punts or not. Don't get too affected by negativity. Keep doing you and I'll be continuously watching and supporting you!

So true. A lot of jealousy. Some of the best players will never make it beyond 1/2 because bad bankroll management, and giving into the vices so easily accessible when spending half your life in the Casino. It takes the total package to have any longevity. I’d like to see you find a protégé. That would make great content.

Right... And then the 888 hand. Gives his opponent free cards, straights and flushes get there, THEN he jams (only straights and flushes or maybe smaller sets could call here) the river and gets called by a rivered top pair. 🤣 How bad can a 1100$ live tournament be. I just don't understand why someone would play this terrible poker and then post it online for people to laugh about 🤣 And then this guy goes to high stakes cash games with his MTT style and gets crushed. Like how did you think that was gonna go?

Why only raise to 2K with the AQ off? The pot starts with 1500 and now has 600 more. For this price, the limper is going to call. Most likely half the players in the casino will also call. I don't think you want that with AQ off in middle position. Wouldn't about 3500 - 5000 be better so their pot odds are a whole lot worse. BTW, I also think you fold here to a 3-bet since AQ off should be pretty low in your range and does not even have enough outs against AK+ and QQ+. With the SPR already getting low, I doubt there will be many light 3-bets to worry about. Your 2K sizing might be about right vs 300/600 and no limper. With that extra 1200 in the pot, I just cannot see anything less than 3.5K. In fact, with a limper, I think you need even more because limpers are going to call unless they are facing a pretty damn big bet. As played, you got a bolated pot vs 4 players with a hand that does not play especially well vs 4 opponents. You were fortunate to get such a clean flop. I have mixed feelings about the check. If someone is very aggressive and likely to stab, a plan to check raise has merit. Planning to slow play this seems pushy due to the large number of players, but at least only the kings are truly scary. Problem is that in 5-way action, some pretty funky hands are probably out there. You can go busto vs some trash like J4s simply because you gave a free card. At least make that player call a bet and earn the suck out. With this ideal flop and low SPR and 4 callers, it just seems like you want to bet in whatever way will get all your chips in without blasting everyone out of the water. Why not 6K flop and shove turn?

One of his worst surely. Not only was his read wrong, but it doesn't matter if you are a "non-believer" when you are beat by Ace high 7 kicker. Not to mention he raised just above the minimum preflop and the callers were button and blind defending. Their ranges were the entire deck. I watch a lot of poker vloggers and they all have these moments that have me saying "wtf are you doing" on repeat. On very rare occasion they actually do pick off a bluff, but 95% of the time they are punting. This could be the most blatantly obvious of them all.

So many people would put you on a busted draw there and likely hero call, just too bad that guy didn't.

Yeah I think calling river A6hh is probably a blunder. Think about it from an MDF standpoint. You can get there with tons of better hands: you can have an 8 yourself, any pocket pair, A2, A5, A7-AK, KQ. Other than maybe Axcc, you had one of the worst hands you can get to the river with.

jamming on the river with A6h putting opponent's tournament life on the line might've been a better play if we think they are bluffing. calling and getting it wrong essentially puts our own tournament life at risk anyways so probably better to force the opponent to make a decision.

the opponent was commited at that point. Only has like 15k behind. Plus if you shove and they're bluffing they just gonna fold.

That said, sometimes it feels as if you have a hero complex, like your Paul Newman in The Sting (although he had the goods). I heard one of the more successful poker players ever say once, “if you’re not folding the best hand from time to time or perceived the best hand, then you have a leak in your game. “ i’m pretty confident then more than one pro has lived by this principal and although I don’t remember The persons name who made the comment, I am sure of that I may have read this statement in some literature by Jonathan little as well.

Call it Rampunts or whatever but he lives and dies by the sword. He has ice in his veins and regardless of those teaching him how to play in the comment section , he is famous and successful and a breath of fresh air to a poker world that was dying off until he came along and gave us all of this content.

Hey Ethan dont beat yourself up too much over that hand. There are some busted draws here. Hands like T9 or K3c. These hands picked up equity on the turn which allows him to keep barrelling. Altho, if he was bluffing with a small pocket pair like 33, which ppl sometimes do on paired boards, the problem is you don't beat that at showdown. For that reason mayb hero with your 77 & 66 and fold your A highs.

Nice double up on pocket eights. Geez, A6 was a sure punt. The next hands weren’t very good either. Well there goes the second bullet. Better luck next time. Sorry you’re out of the tourney. Ciao🌹
