Hi roger love your videos you inspire me ...I've just recently purchased a cnc machine and thanks to you in just a month of having it I can do 3d relief carving may God bless your soul...
Magnificent explanation, super fluid and very clear, I am really very grateful. I wish you all the best. Greetings from Peru
Hvala za odlično predstavitev. Ravno to rabimo za učenje programa.
Very very incredible vidio tank you
I have more than 15 years cutting vinyl with plotters and printing too, I am very new to cnc machining it has been a bit frustrating to learn but the way and pace you explain everything make it easy to understand, thank you sr for taking the time to share. ...im from Mexico we use the metric system there but i live in the usa i became familiar with the standard system too i feel comfortable with both.
I'am a teacher in Oklahoma and just bought a Industrial 48x48 CNC router table this year and love it. I was fighting using Lazy cam (which is crap software) to make g-codes for Mach3. Searcing on the net for different software, I came across Vectric Aspire and had to have it even though it had a price tag of 1895.00, but worth every penny. But being with a school, for that price you get 40 copies which is very nice to have each student have their own computer to use. I want to thank you for the videos you make describing what to do. You explain things in a way that you can follow along and make it clear of what you have to do. When i need to know something, I watch your videos so thank you and keep making them.

I must comment, I came here to get a procedure for bringing grayscale heightmaps into Aspire, and then paused the video in fascination to check out your workshop. I wondered how old you were when Star Wars came out, you're obviously a fan. I marveled at the interesting objects on your bench and walls. I checked out your monitors, and I thought I recognized Mach CNC software to the right. ...And when I looked left.... My jaw dropped and I laughed my head off. :) MONA! I'm VERY familiar with this image, it was the first one I EVER 3D carved on my homebuilt CNC machine! lol It seems like a LONG time ago, but it's only been 5 years. I STILL use it often to test my 3D procedures and software. Someone put a LOT of effort into making it, and it is outstanding! Excellent video BTW, a lot of hands on practical info there. Thank you!
Very impressive! Thoroughly explained - not too fast. Thank you so much!

Nice presentation. When you created the new tool you can select tool type and choose tapered ball nose then enter the angle of the bit as well as the tip diameter giving the software more information to give a accurate rendering.

I love metrics! :)
Thank you Roger, Excellent tutorial. Would love to learn how to add text to a relief carving using Aspire. I use KZread a lot and love your channel. I'm from the UK so I love that you work in mm but I am happy with either you decide. Keep up the good work.
A wonderful clear and concise explanation. Thank you! Would love to see videos on the turning axis. As for metric or English, I use whichever is more appropriate - much easier to do fine work on the mm scale rather than 1/32" scale.

how do you make those grayscale images?
Importing a pre-generated image into Aspire is easy. All the work is in creating that grayscale heightmap image. Where's the video for that?
I prefer Metric too.
Hello Roger, at minute 21:40 , you switch to 2D then I think you said to select the image. I am not sure what you mean here? Am I to select the whole 3d image? I enjoy your teaching. I hate the teaching vids that assume you know what they are taking about. I hope to hear from you soon. Blessings to you, Michael.
Do you have a tutorial that shows the process with a regular picture? Say a color picture?
great Video! Keep up the good work! I was hoping to see the final print result but i guess you didn't print it!
Hi Roger ! A Vectric Aspire 3D program is very expensive for someone who wants to start on a smaller scale what you do. Taking into account that you have to buy a mini CNC machine, a computer and various materials from which we want to obtain these beautiful objects, the amount invested is already large. To this sum we add almost $ 2000 the price of the program. So... I suggest you open a new business in parallel to help us beginners. Put on sale what you explain so nicely, and we will be able to get from the sale of the objects produced by us the necessary money to buy the Ventric Aspire 3D program. I hope you're interested in this suggestion. Have a day the way you want!
will this work on the V-Carve Desktop V10, and can I inport greyscale jpegs and use with Desktop.
hi Roger, nice tutorial. just to let you know that info for Tapered Ball Nose its a bit different when you add It to Tool Database. you can't enter a Ball nose bit info as a Tapered Ball nose Bit info, . Tapered bit has Side Angle info, and Tip radius info , and they have to be entered precisely in the order for Aspire to calculate tool Path the right way.

You are absolutely correct. The way he has it programmed, the taper would hit the material under the chin and in the slots at the right and left. Other than that, great tutorial.
I had to change the grayscale image to white around the outside ring to white and save it then it worked for me.
How long did it take to complete all those tool paths ?
Great tutorial, very well done! I'm using carve pro ver10 is it possible to use that or do I need to upgrade to Aspire to do this importing and carving?

I have used the x axis previously when trying to do standard carving and then tried rotary carving. I am not sure why the A axis is still taking over the X axis in this situation. I will be trying to do another small project and see if it is something wrong with what I am doing or a problem with the software.

He explains it precisely... The carving process looks at the values of the image and assigns the depth of the carving based on the greyscale value at any given point on the image...so the darker values of the image get machined deeper, the lighter values shallower, etc... Search the "web" (haha, pardon the pun) and you'll see you can buy the grayscale file. Merely converting ANY picture to greyscale won't "magically produce" a machinable file. Again, search the web and after a while you'll start to recognize how these greyscale machinable files need to look.
